It has been 7 years since my last kid - I have forgotten about how tired you get. At about 2p every day I'm ready for a nap and it seems that is the time friends decide to call and see how your doing for the day!! We are excited for our third child - we are hoping for a boy but will be happy with whatever the Lord has blessed us with.

April 30th 2007

Well, I had my first ultrasound today - it was totally a shocker - they found 2 heartbeats - like wow!! We didn't even think that twins ran in our family lines on either side - found out today that somewhere way back there I guess they do and they found us!! We are excited and scared at the same time. It is good to have great friends and family tho - a wonderful support team!!

May 6th

Wow - 8 weeks today - It seems that I can go a bit longer before I get tired. My follow up u/s is tomorrow afternoon. I just can't wait. Who would have thought at 2 months one would pooch out already, I suppose it happens with twins, I used to being able to hide it more for a couple more months. It seems I will be in prego clothes before long. Trying real hard to stay in my skinny clothes for a couple more weeks or so.

.

5/7/07

My U/S was this afternoon - babies are doing great - heartbeats are strong - and they are 95% sure they are gonna be identical. With my luck they will be girls - but we are still praying for boys and will love which ever the Lord gave to us. The u/s tech was so nice that she wanted to just "play around" and I got a profile pic in the 3d/4d at 8w3d - absolutely cool. The tech was also telling me that if I make it to 36 weeks then Im doing really good - that would be delivery one week before Thanksgiving. Not bad i guess. Next appointment is at 12 1/2 weeks on June 4th. Then I finally get to see the Dr. Oh - a fringe benefit of twins is you get an u/s at every visit!! Well, until next time - good luck to all you mommies out there!!

5/15/07

9 1/2 weeks - I am so sick of being tired. It seems like Im alot like a baby - eat and sleep - once in awhile i would have to find the restroom - but it is like I am sleeping bunches - it must be a growth spert LOL. Hopefully, after the first trimester I will get some of my energy back.

5/22/07

10 1/2 weeks - feeling better these days - oh what a week can do for someone!! I'm not getting as tired anymore in the afternoons (which is great for my girls and the kids I babysit!) - It seems like I'm finally starting to get an appetite - not so much that I eat more at a sitting - but that I'm snacking all day long - constant intake or close to and that is good. I haven't gained but a pound yet. I blame some of that on my natural metabolism and the other half of that on whatever I eat - the babies are taking from that before I can put weight on. 2 more weeks and I get another u/s and a check up - so excited!!

5/28/07

11 1/2 weeks - life seems to be getting better and better - this is really a good thing. one more week til I see the Dr and get another u/s. cant wait to see the progress. I graduated from my "skinny" clothes to my "prego" clothes this week - just big enough that I am unable to button up the pants - like wow - I dont generally "pop out" for atleast another month but I dont generally carry 2 babies at a time either. LOL

This was taken yesterday! Just big enough to start looking pregnant is what my Hubby says. He is so excited and shows off my belly to everyone!! Hope everyone else is having a great week!

5/30/07 I have been reading lots of other websites here and have decided that I have been holding back some important information about my history that makes this pregnancy very scarry for me and a higher risk than normal for a twin pregnancy. On Feb 16th 2001 I married the man of my dreams - he is and has been the most wonderful man ever to walk on this earth - he has put up with so much from me - When we met I already had a 3 yr old and he didnt want to get involved with anyone with baggage cuz you seem to get more attached to the kid and when the break up occurs it hurts the kid more than the mom so he said. But, thank goodness, that didnt happen in our case. 4 days after we got married, instead of that wonderful honeymoon everyone goes on - I went in for major back surgery. I had T2-L4 fused - for those who dont know what that is it is vertibrea in my spine - from about my shoulders to almost my tailbone. In Nov of '01 my daughter was adopted to my husband. About a yr and a half later , July '02 I had the metal taken out of my back cuz it was buggin me. - By Oct of the same yr I was back in surgery getting all the metal plus a cage put back into my back because I started collapsing. Very painful I tell ya. Oh - and to top it all off - when I was prego with my 7 yr old - my SI joint got so wacked out that it doesnt stay in the socket - and that has been on going for almost 8 yrs now - so that in itself will make it interesting to carry these twins as time goes on. So, needless to say, the bets are on here on when the Dr is gonna put me on bed rest and tell me to stay off my feet - I am hoping for later than sooner, as of right now Im feeling pretty good and still doing a full load of duties during the day. Almost to the 3 month (12 week) mark - so excited! Hoping to feel them move in the next month!

6/1/07

WOW!! The beginning of the second trimester starts today! I made it 1/3 of the way and still doing well - feeling great! My next u/s is on Monday and I cant wait - so excited. Well - dont have much to report today just had to mark a milestone!

6/3 I like blew up this last week - makes me feel more like 16 - 20 weeks instead of 12 so crazy i tell ya!! -Well,I cant wait - I see the Dr in the am and get another u/s and hear the heartbeats - it is so exciting. 6-4-07 - so the u/s went great - both kids are moving and bouncing around!the heartrates are at 175 and 165 - the u/s tech believes they are gonna be girls but we will find out for sure at the next appoint on July 2nd.this is my last time going 4 weeks without seeing a dr - the next appoint starts the every 2 week appoints.the twins are sharing a placenta - dr says there are risks with that - one might take more of the nutrients than the other and cause one to develop faster than the other. But we all have posative outlooks and all will be fine - also my placenta is over my cervix at this time and hoping for it to move out of the way - there is a 90% chance for it to move.- May the Lord will watch over us.

6/10/07 Well - made it another week and seem to still be doing well - it seems that I have rounded out a bit this week - 3 more weeks til we can find out the gender - getting so excited!!

6/13 So - on the nite of the 12th I had some bleeding and quite frankly it freaked me out. My husband works graveyards and he had to get off a couple hours early to take me to the ER to ease my brain. The babies are fine and heart beats are strong - When I went to my regular Dr in the afternoon of the 12th he told me that my placenta is moving out of the way and when it moves over the cervix there is a bumpy ride. The U/S tech also found another pocket of blood (they called it a clot) that is 4cm big and the Dr said that I should see atleast one more of those spells and not to freak out this time cuz we know what is going on. So glad that the Drs seem to have enough time for crazy women who just need some peace of mind.. I have a follow up appnt on the 18th to make sure all is going well still and I am on light activities for the week. Worked out for me that all my babysitting kids had other plans this week and my house is quiet and I didnt have to put out the other mothers in finding alternatives this week. Each day of this pregnancy is definetly an adventure!!

6/15 - 14 weeks today - and still off my feet. I go back in to the Dr on Monday to get new instruction - would love him to tell my husband that I am able to get up and do some light work around the house! I feel bad for my 12yr old - she has been doing alot of work around here for me. I made her go to her friends house last nite to get out of here and have a nite off!! I have been getting kinda tired if I do more than just one or two errands (quick ones).

6/18 - Saw the Dr today - all is going well, those 2 pockets are still there but much smaller and he is thinking they will be gone in 2 weeks or so - will find out on July 2nd. Baby A heart rate is at 165 and Baby B is at 152. Dr says whatever Im doing to keep doing it - Hunny has been making me do NOTHING in the evenings when he gets up - that is good for me - kids to pick up and he cooks - not bad. I had the Dr measure me to see how far along I look - and Im measuring 18 weeks at 14 weeks. It seems that I have quite the appetite these days. I seem to eat and eat until I fall asleep. My favorite foods to eat are fruits, salads, sweet corn and pickles (how stereotypical I know, I like pickles anyway and they are convenient.)

6/25 - just over 15 weeks - feeling really good these days - I seem to have more energy and a bigger appetite. One more week and I get to find out the sex! So excited. nothing new or exciting has been going on -

7/2/07 Saw the Dr today for my 16 week check! All is going good - babies are healthy and right on target for 16 weeks. found out they are GIRLS! makes it a house of girls here!! Measuring at 20 weeks and the heartrates are 154 and 159. hope all is going well for all the mommies out there!!

7/13/07 - 18 weeks and My Birthday!! No plans for today - just another wonderful day at home with my kids. I still havent felt the girls kick me yet - i dont quite get it - one day i gurss. I feel pressure when they push out and you can feel a limb and I think one turned over yesterday, that was very uncomfortable! It would be nice to feel them kick me tho - Well - hope that all you mommies out there are doing well!! - I go to the Dr again on Monday - cant wait to see the girls again.

7/17 - went to the dr yesterday for my 18 week check and all is good - baby A heart is at 142 and Baby B is at 149 - they are still active!! Dr says keep doing whatever your doing and go swimming more!! He states that not only a cool down time but the relief of pressure on my joints is always helpful! I see the Dr again on July 30th for my 20 week check up and the 1 hour ultrasound of all the measurements! My hubby and I are actually going to go to that appointment without kids - that will be so weird to us since we take them everywhere! Just figured they didnt want to sit still THAT long.

7/27 20 weeks and feeling great!! so glad that all seems to be going so well at this time! I go see the Dr on Monday for an hour long u/s - so exciting. nothing much to report this time - will update on monday after Dr appoint - oh - Im getting 2 baby showers planned for me in September - it is so sweet of those whom are planning them for me - the only thing im really hoping for is diapers and mattresses for the cribs - all i can do is pray!!

7/30 went to see the Dr today - the girls are doing great - heartrates are 143 and 147. both girls are growing at the rate of a single pregnancy - they stated that is great since they are sharing a placenta and all - the Dr stated that they should be just over 6lb if they take them at 37 weeks. Im still feeling good - getting a little irretable - cant seem to keep my composure at all times. On Tues the 24th I felt them move for the first time. Feels like popcorn going off at this time. Im measuring in at 27 weeks and only at 20 weeks - I have 4 months left of growing - getting kinda worried about how big im gonna get - may grow out of all my maternity clothes - ive already grown out of 2 shirts and one pair of capris!! Hope all the rest of you mommies are doing great! The best of luck to each one! 20 weeks - measuring at 27 weeks!!

8/27/07 Im at 24 weeks and saw the Dr today. He says I make his job easy - no issues!! The heart rates are at 140 and 150 and both are measuring at 1.5lb each! Im doing so well that I get to have 3 weeks until my next appointment!! (one and only time!) My uterus hasnt grown in 2 weeks but that is good cuz now I measure 6 weeks ahead instead of 8...... Dr is going to think about setting up a date for my c-section on my next visit (have my glucose test that visit also.) and stated that it will be sched for 38 weeks - that makes it Nov 29th or 30th so we will see.

24 weeks measuring at 30 weeks.

10/4- not sure where my updates went for September - but since the 18th it has been quite the roller coaster. I have been in the hospital all but 3 days since then and it is predicted that i stay here until I have the girls. It seems I have a very Dymanic cervix, and it doesnt do car rides well. It seems that everything im in here for is completely out of my control - kinda stinky - i feel great and the kids are great, it just seems that contractions and cervix i have no control over so we are working hard to control them and keep the babies in until 35 weeks (around Nov 11th), seems so long from now. All i can say is the food isnt bad and the nurses are great! so i know the girls are in good hands here and i dont have to worry about anything. i get new measurements and estimates on how big they are Fri morning. Im so excited.

10/20/07 - still hanging out in the hospital - getting old i tell ya - I have a wonderful husband who has been up here with me the whole time! Makes my days brighter!! Had an u/s yesterday and the girls are at about 4lb each!! took the FFN test again and it came back possitive - 80% chance of having them within 2 weeks!! I made it to 32 weeks and that was the BIG milestone we were looking for!

11/07/07 It has been a LONG journey in the hospital. I am happy to report that there is a light at the end of my tunnel. I get an amnio on Mon the 12th and if it comes back as developed then I am scheduled for a c-section on Tues 13th at 12:15p - now just have to pray that all comes back good - i will be at 35 weeks! I think we finally have names picked out - Isa Ann and Kiaja Bryann. My hubby has been wonderful - he has been up here just about every day with me and my mother-in-law has had my kids and that has been a huge help!! My hubby has also been bringing up baby stuff to put together since I havent been home to get their room completed. Other than that all is going well, hope all you other mommies are doing well also!!

In Colorado! That's actually pretty close to the same distance west as us, we're in Northern Saskatchewan. It is really beautiful up here, we're right on the edge of the provincial forest but there is still some farm land in our area and lots of lakes. We're at a cross section of our province. You definatley will have to look us up if you make it out this way ever, We're pretty close to the Prince Albert National Park. Blessings, Radiance

No ealy ultrasound for me, not with my first baby either. I was absolutley certain of my dates both times and I was trying to get pregnant, not like I had to try very hard or for very long, but it was expected. Curiosity. You're in Aurora Ontario??? or are you in the states? There may be different practices between countries. Blessings, Radiance

These three are natural, and it is pretty overwhelming. We've got most of our stuff together now and it's just a waiting game. I'm suprised you had an ultrasound so early, we didn't have one until I was nearly 19 weeks, we were absolutley stunned. We thought it might be twins because I was measuring much bigger than I was supposed to be and I was very sure of my dates. Triplets had us pretty floored it took a couple of weeks for it to really sink in. Blessings and good luck to you, Radiance

Radiance - Saturday, 8 Sep
Congrats! Your belly pic makes me look huge! I'm 25 weeks measuring 36 but I'm having triplets so I guess I should be bigger. Sounds like you had a bit of a rocky ride, I really didn't start having any complications until recently and I've been told to take it easy (as easy as I can take it with a toddler at home anyhow), no bed rest yet! Blessings, Radiance

Hi. Glag to see that you are doing well!! I had a dream lastnight that when I go to this 4d scan they tell me that i am having twins. 1 boy and 1 girl. How freaky. I would have loved to have the chance to have twins. They run in both of our families, however I have never been given the chance. This baby does not stop moving. It kept me awake most of lastnight!! I will let you know the results of the 4d scan, but im sure they are going to say boy again. Take care speak soon, Kirst x

Congats on doing so well. Just checking in to see how you are doing. We had our girls 8/2 almost a month early. I spent the better part of July on bedrest at the hospital until it was safe to deliver.

No the thought of two babies hasn't fully sunk in and although I am excited every day I get more and more nervous at the thought of it. ONE baby I was ok with but I'm scared to death with two. I can barely catch my breath when I think of it yet I am excited it just doesn't seem real plus the pregnancy hormones are making me an emotional wreck I think.

Congrats on your pregnancy so far! We are having a house full of girls too and I feel bad for my 10yr old. She has taken over and helps so much I couldn't do it without her. She is so excited to be a big sister and I can tell she has a lot of pride in being such a big help but I still feel bad because of all the restrictions I've been on. I hope everything continues to go well for you. PS: My 10 yr old was born on your anniversary feb 16th of 1997. Great time for freak snowstorms here lol.
