Wednesday, 25 June Hey, my daughter is 8 months old and I am breastfeeding. I started the mini pill when she was 7 or 8 weeks old and have had no problems with it at all. It doesn't affect my milk supply and while your on it you don't have a period. It's been really nice. When I stop BF I will switch back to ortho cyclen. Anyways, it has worked for me. You can try it and see if it is for you. Hope this helped. jenlove -
Wednesday, 25 June Thanks. I'm not breasfeeding, so it would just be for me. I think I'm going to keep taking them, to keep me strong and healthy for my baby. Also, I plan to try to get pregnant in 10-11 months so it is probably a good idea. How many do you have?:) How are you? I hope you're all doing well! cait -
Wednesday, 25 June Yes- yaz is not a mini pill. The only option they gave me was the camilla they said it is the most effective and is completely safe while nursing. This time they laughed and said maybe try and an implant this time haha. How is your little guy doing?? Do you and your hubby think you will have more kids eventually? cali.momma -
Wednesday, 25 June im lactose intolerant, so im not surprised. do you think i should switch to drop ins? i was thinking about it. walmart has generic milicon drops? i didnt know that! i was going to go to babies r us and get some. ill have to go tomorrow and check it out :P shes using the enfamil lactofree. she was on similac sensitive but it didnt work really. i have like NO milk whatsoever. they gave me pills to produce more, and that made it even worse. i still pump the 1oz i get and give it to her. cali.momma -

Wednesday, 25 June Yeah all of mine were long and drawn out...lol... Only this last one was natural for you? Did he come to quick to get something? *drewsmommy* -
Tuesday, 24 June ok so I just noticed that we are the same age and you have 4(!!) kids-- how on earth do you do it? I mean I only have one right now and all my time is spent on him, I can't imagine having 3 other ones!
But back to Mirena, I don't know how much research you are doing but I would suggest reading all the pros and cons b4 getting it. I decided to read about all the cons AFTERWARDS and I totally scared the heck out of myself. Like I said, I have had no problems with it so far, but I am aware of what COULD happen and I think that it's smart to be educated so if you do have any crazy (and I mean crazy) side effects you will know that its just the Mirena and you are not some freak of nature. I think that it's just like other birth controls in the fact that it will effect everyone differently. If it's effecting you horribly, there is no reason to keep it in, no matter what the cost bc our health is more important than not getting pregnant! sophiesoph -
Tuesday, 24 June Hi, thanks for your message. I'm doing better today - my dh came home early yesterday so i could get some rest. Oh, the bleeding I was talking about is vaginal bleeding. That hasn't changed, it's still bright red but it's not too much, though I had some small clots. I have a doc appt today so I'm going to ask what that's about. Thanks again for your message! I hope you're doing well with your new little one. Elis Mommy!! -

Tuesday, 24 June im on marvelon 28 its awsome, im formula feeding, i think i had warning signins of problems for me, because i remember passing huge blood clots the first week after having faith. the blood clot looked like it a skin in it.. and then i just kept pasing large blood clots the first week and half or so, and then after it gave me a break with light bleeding, and then it turned brown and then it stoped.and then like 2 days later, i got the large blood clots and the gushing of blood. and now im traumitized from it girleo -
Tuesday, 24 June I considered getting the mirena, although changed my mind after i've known a few poeple to get it tangled in their cervix, and it had to be cut out... one of the mirena's got twisted in the cervix and they had to have surgery to have it removed... so i decided on birth control pills instead, the pill seems to work fine... hope that helps. busybeemom -

Tuesday, 24 June To Tonysmommy,
Hi! I just wanted to respond to what you said about mirena... you said that your doctor recommended that it be in place for a minimum of three years? That's really odd, because my doctor said that I could have it removed ANY time I wanted. I asked specifically about that... She said that if I removed it before one year that it wouldn't be very cost effective, but that you can have it removed at any time with a very quick return to fertility. That was a big part of the appeal for me.
I wonder why your doctor said what she said? Did she explain why she wouldn't remove it before three years were up? Strange....
I've had mirena for about 8 months now and love it, but that's just me.
Anyway take care! : )
