Lilypie 1st Birthday PicLilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

I guess t's time to update my profile! On 5/28/2008, a mere 2 hours and 39 minutes after our 2nd wedding anniversary. Dillon Alexander Dugan was born! It's true what they say about the pain and experience...it does seem to fade away as soon as your child is born! (Check out the birth story! OUCH!) Our life since having Dillon has been full of new and exciting things! The amazing feeling you have when your child makes a new facial expression, or when he poops after being constipated for 3 days, or the first time he turns his head toward you because he recognizes your voice! But nothing can compare to that first second when your first child arrives into this world and your heart opens up this whole new place that you never knew existed! When I found Dan, my husband and love of my life, I didn't think I could love anyone or anything more than I love him. And then, in a second, this amazing amount of love fills you up and you realize that every piece of your heart is full! I look at my life everyday and am amazed that it is MY life. I am so amazingly fortunate and unbelievably in awe of how my little man has changed my life in such a short amount of time! I'm so much more than I was before...so much more than I thought I ever would be...because I have 2 amazing men in my life that love me and that I love with all that I am...my Husband Dan and our miracle Dillon!

1/14/08 UPDATE!!!
IT'S A BOY!!! It has been such an amazing day! We had the chance to see our healthy little boy! Dan threw up his hands like he had just won the baby lottery when she said BOY! I can't believe how blessed we are! I will never forget this day!

Hey if you're looking to get back in shape this site will help you plan your meals, workouts, shopping list, and everything. It helps you meet your goals and motivates. I'm using it and I'm determined now to get back to better than before I ever got pregnant. Try it. but you'll have to choose the option that you aren't nursing or it will redirect you to another site, just add another 300 - 500 calories for the baby to your diet plan. my username is---- ryansgrl4 . This is the link so just copy and paste and you can get started, best of all it's totally FREE---------http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/mysparkstart.asp

HI Heather...I'm not on here much anymore! I love being a mother and sophie is great...our biggest issue is her refusal to take a bottle or a soother! We have tried many diff types of both, formula, breast milk, my husband giving it to her while I'm away...notta!!

How are you doing?

Kate

lol were doing okay i suppose. were in the middle of moving to ohio. and, were stuck in wyoming. 100 miles from ANY town. they cant get around to fixing it til friday, so were stuck eating gas station food for awhile :/

I'm glad to help, I really hope it works out for you. I don't think I've ever gotten this much use out of the car seat as I am with this baby, I can take him wherever I am in the house and just let him sleep. I don't know why I never did it before. I guess I'm just more desperate this time cuz I've got 4 kids 4 and under, and I have to make things work so that I can get things done around here. LOL

Grace - Wednesday, 9 July
if he likes his car seat then you can wean him from needing you guys to sleep by letting him sleep in there. mine loves his. also a boppy pillow can make him feel like he's being held, i lay mine on his in his playpen. he's attached to me too so i get a break like this. hope it helps, it's worth a try, it's good for them to sleep in a sort of upright position sometimes because of spit up. blessings ~grace

I stopped using B/C pills a few years ago because they were encouraging my fibroids to grow! I also had no idea fibroids could rupture. Scary! I hate the way I feel while I am taking fake hormones anyway. I thought Mirena had hormones in it? Maybe not enough to control your fibroids. We use spermicide inserts. It kind of sucks to have to stop to use it, but we both would rather stop for 30 seconds than have me be a bloated bitchy mess all the time. Haha!!

Thanks for all the information, you poor thing that must have been quite an ordeal with your little guy! After you described everything I am kinda leaning toward her just being heavy spit-up kid. Honestly I am constantly mopping her up but I don't really think she is vomiting (from your description). I take her to her four month checkup on next Monday and I think I will bring it up with them...thanks again for all the information. I'm so glad to hear your son is doing better now.

Maddux - Monday, 7 July
Hi, I just read your post about your little one vomiting....can you describe what it was like? Was it defintely vomiting or really bad spitting up? My daugher is constantly bringing up what she eats but she continues to gain weight so I figured the pediatrican wouldn't do anything about it. Honestly I feel like every two ounces she takes in she brings up one of them.

elis mommy!! - Thursday, 3 July
My Elizabeth is 5 weeks on saturday and is already eating 6 oz. Not sure if tha is normal but she is hungry and im not going to deprive her of it either!!!!

Holy crap girl! Break that habit now!!! LOL. My husbands best friend from childhood has a 5 year old boy. He and his wife still let the boy sleep in their bed. I once asked her how that was for sex and she replied, "Oh we don't do that anymore." Can you imagine???? I do sleep on the recliner with Michael for a couple hours eevery morning. it is just so much easier to stay there and both of us sleep than trying to get him back in his bassinet. My rule to keep it from going overboard is that it has to be light outside. Thank goodness it is summer.

nmck - Monday, 30 June
Michael was in the hospital a long time, but thankfully didn't really have any health problems. There were a lot of sick babies around him who had surgeries, etc. that worried the hell out of me and they weren't even mine! A friend of mine who had a baby right around when you did has a ton of probs. Her baby had some odd birth defects, including no hole in his anus. I can't stop thinking about this poor kid and what he has to go through. Michael is doing really well...rolling over now and his reflux finally seems to be under control. I hope Dillon has it all out of his system now, and won't even scrape a knee for at least 5 years! How are you feeling? Totally recovered yet? How long til you go back to work? I have another 8 weeks since school doesn't start til August.

nmck - Monday, 30 June
Holy crap! Poor Dillon!!! I am happy that a doctor recognized his problem, and he is doing well. I'll say prayers for him tonight.

Cherryb0m - Monday, 30 June
what a cutie!! im glad you guys are all okay and he's feeling much better!

lilgracie - Tuesday, 24 June
She's great!! Sometimes I'm afraid I might actually eat her chubby cheeks. She's started getting an ounce of baby grapejuice a day to keep her in the poopin' business and her face when she first tastes the juice is HILARIOUS!

lilgracie - Monday, 23 June
Hey about the slow flow/fast flow: I went and bought those ventaire with the slow-flow and Gracie was NOT having it. Apparently she is not amused by having to work so hard to get food. So rather than just waste the bottles I figured out the Dr. Brown's level 1 nipples fit perfectly well and she much prefers those. I'm not sure how fast or slow they are but they can't be that fast considering they're the first level.

nmck - Monday, 23 June
Ha!! I don't know if every brand has a medium flow, but we are using evenflo. They have 3 stages, so I figure most would. Anyway, I have formula on sooo many shirts too! I have started getting dressed for the day, and putting my shirt near the front door. Then I wear an old maternity t-shirt around the house unless we leave. It makes me feel al ittle better to know I am formula free when I leave the house at least!!

angels2 - Monday, 23 June
Thank you so much for the advice! My husband just went to go buy a different formula. We gave our son Parent's Choice Formula when he was a baby and he did perfect with it. Hopefully she is the same way with it. I will definitely keep the baby gas drops in mind if this doesn't work out, thanks!!

cali.momma - Monday, 23 June
wow, he takes awhile to eat. lol. is that hard on you? olivia takes about 15 to 25 mins depending on what time of day it is. she eats about 3 to 3.5oz. i burp her 3 times per feeding. she gets a lot of gas lol. i mean it cant be bad that he takes a long time. as long as hes eating, right?

angels2 - Monday, 23 June
My daughter is the same way when she drinks. She will go up to 5 hours before eating or so and she will drink 2 oz, fall asleep, wake up to burp, change her diaper and then she will drink the other 2 oz. It's hard to keep her up for anything :) As long as the are getting their nutrition, everything is okay!
