Lilypie 1st Birthday PicLilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

I guess t's time to update my profile! On 5/28/2008, a mere 2 hours and 39 minutes after our 2nd wedding anniversary. Dillon Alexander Dugan was born! It's true what they say about the pain and experience...it does seem to fade away as soon as your child is born! (Check out the birth story! OUCH!) Our life since having Dillon has been full of new and exciting things! The amazing feeling you have when your child makes a new facial expression, or when he poops after being constipated for 3 days, or the first time he turns his head toward you because he recognizes your voice! But nothing can compare to that first second when your first child arrives into this world and your heart opens up this whole new place that you never knew existed! When I found Dan, my husband and love of my life, I didn't think I could love anyone or anything more than I love him. And then, in a second, this amazing amount of love fills you up and you realize that every piece of your heart is full! I look at my life everyday and am amazed that it is MY life. I am so amazingly fortunate and unbelievably in awe of how my little man has changed my life in such a short amount of time! I'm so much more than I was before...so much more than I thought I ever would be...because I have 2 amazing men in my life that love me and that I love with all that I am...my Husband Dan and our miracle Dillon!

1/14/08 UPDATE!!!
IT'S A BOY!!! It has been such an amazing day! We had the chance to see our healthy little boy! Dan threw up his hands like he had just won the baby lottery when she said BOY! I can't believe how blessed we are! I will never forget this day!

Hey! It's awesome that Dillon is sleeping so long! I thought you shouldn't bathe your baby too much either, but when I realized how much it calmed him down I looked it up. in Baby 411, it says you can do it every day if you want to. Theonly thing to watch for is dry skin. We lotion after every bath so he has had no problems yet. Honestly, when we started a daily bath was when we got bedtime down pat. Sounds like Dillon is sleeping great and you don't have to worry about it!

how did you find the medium flow nipples for the playtex bottles? They're the same type that I use but I've been only able to find slow and fast.

Corbin has clogged ducts all the time. I just rub the eye by the nose with warm water when I give him a bath and it seems to really help. He won't have the red swollen eye during the day. I hope this helps. :)

Both of my daughter's eyes have clogged tear ducts. :( I am looking forward to not having people ask me if she has pink eye! Our neighbor's son had them also, and had them "probed" when he was 18 months old since they never cleared. It sounds awful, but I guess it was a really quick 5-minute outpatient procedure. Hopefully it won't have to happen to either of our babies!

That is awesome! Michael is still small, but in the past few weeks seems to be eating more and more often so I am sure he will gain well. His doc is happy with his growth so I am not worrying. To post pics in the forum, go to photobucket and get a free account. BEFORE you upload your pic, choose resize to MEDIUM. Then upload, and copy the line of html code under the pic. Paste that code into the comment box. I love a pic or two posted in the forum b/c it is so much easier than going to everyone's page!

how come scales at home and the dr. office are SOOOOO different??? I wanted to cry after seeing the scale at the visit today. ughhh!!! I am working so hard at getting back in shape and then to see that scale it seems that all i've lost since having him is 10 lbs, that would be the baby and placenta, he was 7 lb 8 oz. Oh and I was supposed to get Mirena today cuz my doc left me with the impression when I was leaving the hospital that I would get it at my check up, BUT NO. seems I had to go in with a screaming baby by myself in an hour long drive (Jacob screaming for about 20 minutes of it) late for my appt. so I had to wait 2 hours after getting there for him to get back from his lunch break, to step on a scale and get sad, then sit in a room get blood pressure checked, and asked if I had a period yet or cramping, that was the extent of my check up, then I signed papers to order Mirena and I asked him a couple questions about it. NO REAL CHECKING ME OUT to see if everything was ok, didn't even check to see if my uterus had gone back yet. *sigh* just really frustrated right now with just about everything. I saw the doc for maybe 5 minutes out of a 2 hour wait and 2 hour drive and 6 hours of sleep maybe and a screaming baby. maybe it's the hormones again...

Also, how is Dillon doing? Did he put on a lot of weight after his surgery?

Part of me is happy that Michael is growing out of the colicky crap, but I worked on his baby book last weekend and got all sappy about how tiny and perfect he was in the NICU! We are very lucky too that my mom is going to watch him. I am worried about being tired going back to work. Are you exhausted all the time? Also, I am taking a grad class every Wednesday night. So Wednesdayss will be teach all day, drive 2 hours, 3 hours of class, drive two hours home. That is going to SUCK, but I want to get this degree finished before me next pregnancy. You should tri to stick with us. jcody, lilgracie, knockoutmom and I are on pretty much every day and decided we are all moving months at the same time. We told Andais she had to move up a week early to stick with us, haha! Some of those month 2 moms are crazy! A lot are fine too though.

nmck - Thursday, 7 August
Glad to see you are back! I did wonder where you went. I figured you were super busy being back at work. I go back in 2 weeks, so I am going to be tired too! I should be in 2 months developmentally anyway, but the moms from our pregnancy week all decided to move over together, LOL! Everyone familiar will be in month 2 next week.

lilgracie - Wednesday, 6 August
Hey! How is your little family? I was just thinking about you (actually telling the story about how we rode an elevator together and din't know it) and thought I'd check in.

Wanna move to Canada?? That's too bad...it's so important to have mum's and babies together as long as possible and it's too bad your government doesn't appreciate that! What kind of day care do you have? My hubbie would LOVE to be able to help feed but that is a no go....we keep trying though!

Are you back to work?? I guess you only get 3 months in the states do you? We get a year here...so blessed! How did they discover you had pyloric stenosis and what is that? Holding his head up too?? Wow!!
Sophie was 10.5 pounds last Monday and does lots of smiling and is close to giggling but not yet. She has her fussy nights still but they are getting better and her sleeping thru the night is getting better too...did 5.5 hours the other night!! I'm breast feeding and that is going well too...little devil won't take a bottle or a soother! glad you are enjoying it too!

I'm using it and I'm determined now to get back to better than before I ever got pregnant. Try it. but you'll have to choose the option that you aren't nursing or it will redirect you to another site, just add another 300 - 500 calories for the baby to your diet plan. my username is---- ryansgrl4 . This is the link so just copy and paste and you can get started, best of all it's totally FREE---------http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/mysparkstart.asp

HI Heather...I'm not on here much anymore! I love being a mother and sophie is great...our biggest issue is her refusal to take a bottle or a soother! We have tried many diff types of both, formula, breast milk, my husband giving it to her while I'm away...notta!!

How are you doing?

Kate
