Lilypie 1st Birthday PicLilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

I guess t's time to update my profile! On 5/28/2008, a mere 2 hours and 39 minutes after our 2nd wedding anniversary. Dillon Alexander Dugan was born! It's true what they say about the pain and experience...it does seem to fade away as soon as your child is born! (Check out the birth story! OUCH!) Our life since having Dillon has been full of new and exciting things! The amazing feeling you have when your child makes a new facial expression, or when he poops after being constipated for 3 days, or the first time he turns his head toward you because he recognizes your voice! But nothing can compare to that first second when your first child arrives into this world and your heart opens up this whole new place that you never knew existed! When I found Dan, my husband and love of my life, I didn't think I could love anyone or anything more than I love him. And then, in a second, this amazing amount of love fills you up and you realize that every piece of your heart is full! I look at my life everyday and am amazed that it is MY life. I am so amazingly fortunate and unbelievably in awe of how my little man has changed my life in such a short amount of time! I'm so much more than I was before...so much more than I thought I ever would be...because I have 2 amazing men in my life that love me and that I love with all that I am...my Husband Dan and our miracle Dillon!

1/14/08 UPDATE!!!
IT'S A BOY!!! It has been such an amazing day! We had the chance to see our healthy little boy! Dan threw up his hands like he had just won the baby lottery when she said BOY! I can't believe how blessed we are! I will never forget this day!

Hey about the slow flow/fast flow: I went and bought those ventaire with the slow-flow and Gracie was NOT having it. Apparently she is not amused by having to work so hard to get food. So rather than just waste the bottles I figured out the Dr. Brown's level 1 nipples fit perfectly well and she much prefers those. I'm not sure how fast or slow they are but they can't be that fast considering they're the first level.

nmck - Monday, 23 June
Ha!! I don't know if every brand has a medium flow, but we are using evenflo. They have 3 stages, so I figure most would. Anyway, I have formula on sooo many shirts too! I have started getting dressed for the day, and putting my shirt near the front door. Then I wear an old maternity t-shirt around the house unless we leave. It makes me feel al ittle better to know I am formula free when I leave the house at least!!

Thank you so much for the advice! My husband just went to go buy a different formula. We gave our son Parent's Choice Formula when he was a baby and he did perfect with it. Hopefully she is the same way with it. I will definitely keep the baby gas drops in mind if this doesn't work out, thanks!!

wow, he takes awhile to eat. lol. is that hard on you? olivia takes about 15 to 25 mins depending on what time of day it is. she eats about 3 to 3.5oz. i burp her 3 times per feeding. she gets a lot of gas lol. i mean it cant be bad that he takes a long time. as long as hes eating, right?

angels2 - Monday, 23 June
My daughter is the same way when she drinks. She will go up to 5 hours before eating or so and she will drink 2 oz, fall asleep, wake up to burp, change her diaper and then she will drink the other 2 oz. It's hard to keep her up for anything :) As long as the are getting their nutrition, everything is okay!

What a great picture! Your little man is so handsome! Congratulations!

lilgracie - Wednesday, 11 June
Her billi was 12.3 the day we took her home (Thursday). The next morning it was 18.2 so they had her tanning bed sent to the house. By Saturday it was down to 15 and yesterday it was 10! I know what you mean about being so paranoid about SIDS. Numerous times throughout the night I'll turn on her little nightlight to make sure she's breathing. Any little thing she does differently I'm just convinced is something horrible. Like, she will throw up every once in a while after a feeding and I had become convinced it was something super serious. But she'll throw up without any sign of pain and then just fall right to sleep happily. I'd like to think the paranoia will end eventually but I'm sure as she's pulling out of the driveway for college in 18 years I'll still be just as much of a paranoid freak when it comes to her.

i threw up all over. i felt bad hah. the stupid little dish isnt cant catch flying barf well. hah. but i felt insanely amazing. i wasnt feeling good alllll day so it was good to feel better :] at least for 20 mins

Michael is great! He is up to 8 lbs even as of today. He is trying a new medicine and a new formula for his acid reflux too. I have gotten a smile or two from him recently. It was so great! How are you feeling now that you are settled at home? Overwhelmed at all? I totally was at first!

*bree;; - Tuesday, 10 June
heh thanks. hows dillon doing??

mandalou81 - Tuesday, 10 June
Yeah I'm good! My water broke this morning at 4am... it's now 5 pm here!! Been at the hospital and they were monitoring us . No contractions and he was sleeping!!! So just back at home now waiting to see if anything will happen naturally before going back in the morning!!

nmck - Tuesday, 10 June
He is so blonde and so cute! Bright eyed is a perfect description of him in this picture. You should be so proud of this cutie!!

*bree;; - Monday, 9 June

OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!!! Just too cute!! Look how tiny that baby is!! Look how massive that dog is!! He's adorable!! (the baby i mean! - well the dog's pretty cute too... but the baby is cutiest!!)

lilgracie - Saturday, 7 June
Oh yeah, and the husband was pretty much 100% by Tuesday when the madness began. He was still throwing up Monday night while I was strapped in with the cervidil working it magic. He apparently had some kind of virus that the nurses said was everywhere right now. The fact that I didn't get it is a total miracle.

lilgracie - Saturday, 7 June
Hey!! It went pretty well. However I will avoid induction at all costs in the future and honestly wouldn't recommend it to ANYBODY unless they were in serious danger. That being said, it was still amazing. I'm exhausted and can't stand being away from Gracie even for 15 minutes to pump. Breastfeeding is somewhat of a nightmare but it's possibly turning a corner. She's jaundiced and has spent the past 24 hours on what looks like a baby tanning bed that was delivered to our house and I can't stand not being able to hold her. But she'll be all better soon and the tanning bed will go away. She's been a really easy baby once we started to supplement with formula because I was producing literally drops of colostrum before my milk came in this morning. But I'm so freaking happy to be a mom!!!! How are you?! How's the precious boy?!

lilgracie - Saturday, 7 June
Holy crap that is a seriously cute picture! I cannot believe how much blond hair he has!!

*bree;; - Friday, 6 June
heh, i think everyones surprised im still pregnant. ive had to make a few trips to l and d because of contractions and such, but they arent really dilating me. since tuesday i have gotten about eight hrs of sleep total, and for me thats insanely awful. now im throwing up so much from being tired and overall crappy. i had an appt on monday, but i called this morning and made one for in an hr. i cant take this any longer. everyones like "its going to be harder when you have her"..um not really, because someone can help me out when shes here, like hubs. but right now, its all on me. i cant handle it. everyone says they miss them in their belly. most get over it though lol. she hasnt moved much lately, so i think ill be okay since im used to almost no movement now.
