This is my first pregnancy and I am so excited! Definitely nervous, yet thrilled at the same time! If anyone has any advice at all please please send it on over :)
My sister was due in March with her son and she was my age, kinda wierd! But shes giving me great advice!

! !Wednesday March 12,2008:
At about 9am we went to the beach, got totally sunburned and then went to the doc. at 11am... I was feeling strange, but I wanted to do something, so we went out to dinner with the family. At about 8pm I noticed that I was feeling crampy and couldnt sleep at all. At about 2am they were 5 min apart and lasting 2-3 min! I was worried that something was wrong, so I went to the hospital. I was in early labor, and they reason my contractions were lasting so long was because my membrane was stripped.... They told me I could stay or go home and come back, so I went home.
They got really close together and luckily shorter. By 6am I jumped in the bath, which was wonderful by the way, and then at 8am went back to the hospital.
I was 6 cm and was totally exhausted from not sleeping at all. At 10 am I was fully dialated and ready to push... Only problem was that my doctor was NO WHERE to be found!!!!! So for 2 hrs I was in the bathtub with pushing contractions, and NO DRUGS! She finally showed up at noon and then we started pushing. She then blessed us with her presence :) at 1:02pm!
However, I tore A LOT and Brooklynn swallowed aminotic fluid, and got rushed to the other room. I on the other hand, was bleeding too much and then they had to squeeze my uterus to get out the blood clots. I was stuck in the bed bleeding for 2 days unable to see my baby. It was the most emotional 2 days of my life.
March 21,2008:
Still in the hospital. Brooklynn is almost 9 lbs now but still needs oxygen, and we are just waiting. She is a total chubster and eats like a horse, she just needs to get her lungs to work and we are waiting patiently.

I am so glad to hear back from you. I was getting worried and kepy checking the site to see what was going on. Brooklynn is soo cute, 12 lbs...OMG what are you feeding that girl, lol. Makayla is only like 8. She was 6lb5oz when we brought her home a month ago. She had to wear preemie diapers and she finally wears newborn and fits into most of ehr newborn clothes, some are still too big. She eats a ton but is just a petite little thing. We are in love though. Right on about the breastfeeding, thats awesome. I have to work a little more. Her mouth was so little she was having a hard time latching so that was super frustrating, but I went to a lactation consultant and they had me use a nipple shield and so she uses that and is good to go. I just have to make sure it is positioned right and usually it is easier if I sit up. I have gotten her to eat a few times while laying down next to me but then we both fall asleep and i wake up all startled cuz she is right there. but i know i would never roll on her. I havent gotten into a deep sleep since I have had her. Hows she sleeping?? It is hard...but in other ways it is easier than I imagined. She only cries when she is hungry and wow she has some lungs. Does brooklynn cry alot?
She is really strong for being so little...she was holding ehr head up a little from day one and at 3 weeks she started rolling from her belly to her back. Scary!! She smiles alot and makes a ton of noise all the time. It is so hard to waker her up, she just grunts and groans and stretches forever!! it is so funny!! anyways...keep in touch for sure, i want to hear all about brooklynns milestones and want to see pictures. Maybe we should exchange email addresses as I check that all the time and dont come here as often. Hope to hear back soon.

Yeah, I had my little Makayla Rayn on March 19. 6lb 14oz. I had a really hard, long labor and birth but we made it home yesterday and am trying to recover. I will post my birth story soon. Take care and please keep in touch and I will be thinkin of you guys.

Let me kow how your appt goes! I am soooo irritated. When i was in the hospital for UTI a week and a half ago the nurse checked me twice and said my cervix was soft and I was 1cm both times! Just came back from my dr and she said NO WAY, Cervix is loong, hard and no dilation at all. What the hell???? So they will still induce if my fluid drops but besides that she cannot induce me before till March 24-28 and she is out of town that week!! Grrrrr. Frsutrating!
So I hope you are better than me cuz I think my loittle one is nice and comfy in there.

i cant even imagine moving and all that stuff right now. how are you holding up? dont work too hard. do you have a crib or bassinet all ready for her? i hadnt seen you on in a little and thought you beat me. lol.
we are finishing the final touches to the room tomorrow so i will post some pix and let you know. have to hang her letters on the wall and a few last pix. but we are ready, bag has been packed and laundry done. well just the stuff she will wear right away. there are so many things in her closet up to like 18-24 months so I have washed all newborn and about half of 0-3 months. i know brooklynn has a lot of clothes too, did you wash everything?
