HEY EVERYONE,
MY NAME IS HOLLY AND I AM 6 WEEKS 2 DAYS PREGGO TODAY. I HAVE BEEN MARRIED (VERY HAPPILY I MIGHT ADD) FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. WHEN I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT IT WAS THE MOST OVERWHELMING HAPPY FEELING I HAVE EVER FELT. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND BUT A BABY OUTFIT IN OUR CLOSET AND PRETENDED THAT THERE WAS A BIG SPIDER IN THERE AND TOLD MY HUSBAND TO COME KILL IT. WHEN HE WALKED IN, YOU SHOULD OF SEEN HIS FACE IT WAS PRICELESS!!!! AFTER JUMPING AROUND FOR ABOUT 5 MIN WE STARTED CRYING. WE TOLD MY PARENTS IN THE SAME WAY LATER THAT NIGHT AND ARE VERY EXCITED TO TELL HIS MOTHER WHEN SHE COMES IN FROM OUT OF TOWN AROUND XMAS. SO FAR I HAVE NOTICED MY CHEST IS VERY TENDER AND MY BOOBS HAVE BECOME LARGER (MY HUSBAND DOES NOT MIND A BIT). I HAVE HAD INCREASING AMOUNTS OF NAUSEA BUT HAVE NOT TOSSED YET THANK GOD. I KEEP HEARING FROM MY MOTHER THESE FAMOUS WORDS, "WELL, WHEN I WAS PREGNANT.........". PLEASE TELL ME I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HEARS THESE THINGS AND IS NOW CONVINCED THAT PREGNANCY WILL NOT MAKE YOU SICK AND DOES NOT HURT WHEN YOU DELIVER (OR SO MY MOM SAYS). YEAH RIGHT !!!!!! I AM DUE TO GO FOR MY FIRST DOCTOR APPOINTMENT ON 11-30-07 SO WISH ME LUCK. JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW, I BOUGHT TWO OF THE BEST BOOKS AND I HIGHLY SUGGEST THEM, "WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOUR EXPECTING" AND "GIRLFRIEND TRUTH ABOUT PREGNANCY." THE SECOND ONE IS VERY FUNNY. ALSO A VIP THAT IS A WEEK FURTHER THAN ME TOLD ME ABOUT A WEB SITE (AND THIS REALLY WORKS) TO HELP WITH NAUSEA IT IS http://wakowa.wordpress.com/2007/07/02/acu-point-inner-gate-p6/. TRY IT!!!! 11-30-07 WELL I WAS DUE TO GO TO MY FIRST DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT BUT HE CANCELLED B/C HE HAD TO DELIVER A BABY---I GUESS THAT IS UNDERSTANDABLE. SO FAR, I STILL HAVE NOT TOSSED BUT THE NAUSEA IS MORE AND MORE FREQUENT. I EVEN LOOK AT CERTAIN FOODS AND I WANT TO GAG. I HAVE ALSO NOTICIED THAT I AM GETTING MORE MENSTRUAL LIKE CRAMPS BUT NO BLEEDING OR SPOTTING. I HAVE READ THIS IS NORMAL BUT IT ALWAYS MAKES ME FEEL BETTER WHEN OTHER WOMEN HAVE THE SAME SYMPTOMS. MY BOOBS STILL FEEL LIKE THEY WEIGHT 9000 LBS EACH AND ARE VERY SORE AND I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT IF MY NIPPLES GET ANY BIGGER I AM GOING TO START POKING PEOPLES EYE BALLS OUT. LOL!!! WELL I AM RESCHEDULED TO GO THE DOC ON 12-12 SO WISH ME LUCK UNTIL THEN AND THE SAME TO ALL OF YOU.

I KNOW IT HAS BEEN A WHILE BUT I HAVE HAD SOOO MUCH GOING ON WITH MOVING AND TRYING TO REHAB THE HOUSE BEFORE THE BABY GETS HERE. SO FAR I HAVE HAD TWO MD APPOINTS AND THEY BOTH WENT VERY WELL. I WENT FOR MY FIRST U/S AND THE HEART RATE AT 162 BUT THE MOST AMAZING PART WAS TO SEE THE BABY MOVING. MY HUSBAND AND I BOTH CRIED WHEN WE SAW THAT. I AM FEELING ALOT BETTER. THE NAUSEA IS TO A MINIMUM AND THE FATIGUE IS SLIGHTLY EASING UP. THE ONLY ACHES AND PAINS I HAVE ARE THE LOWER GROIN "STRECHING" PAIN WHEN I SIT UP. I FEEL LIKE A POPPED A LITTLE BELLY OUT OVER NIGHT AND HAVE ABOUT 2 PAIRS OF PANTS LEFT THAT WILL FIT. I GUESS I HAVE TO GO SHOPPING FOR MATERNITY PANTS. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THEY SELL TALL SIZES---I AM 5'10. I HAVE ACCTUALLY LOST WEIGHT ABOUT 3 LBS BUT HAVE NOT BEEN SICK. THE MD SAYS THAT OK FOR NOW. WILL UPDATE ALL OF YOU LATER AND HAPPY PREGGOS!!!!!!

I am having a c-section that is scheduled on the 2nd of July. It can't come soon enough. It has been planned since I found out I was pregnant. I had one back in 2004, so they automatically do it again. They never told me a weight estimate on him, just the percentile he is in.... I don't feel that huge compared to how big he supposably is. It is just super exciting and I cannot wait!

Thanks so much for making me feel better, it's always nice to know that I'm not alone! I'm not sure what will happen, I have an appointment on Wednesday and if I show any signs of being ready then they plan on inducing, C-section hasn't been mentioned YET, but if there are no signs on Wednesday there might be?? I wish you the best of luck and you're SOOO right, screw what everyone else says or thinks! LOL! Take care!

Your not the only one a little nervous about the size of the baby..... I had and U/S at 28 weeks and my little man was 3 pounds 9 ounces and in the 60%tile for his age and i have to go get another U/S on Tuesday and i have a feeling that he's going to be like 6 pounds or more and both of my other children were under 7 pounds at full term so I' m a little worried that he's going to be big and if that's the case my doctor said i would need to be induced if he's big.

I had an ultra sound 2 weeks ago and he weighed in at 5.3 pounds and 34 weeks...which would make him even bigger now. I am having a follow up u/s on the 5th...I don't know why. I will let you know though if there is an outcome...I hope they decide to let me have him early though. My doc says he doesn't want him to get bigger than like 8-8.5 pounds. That could be in like 3 weeks!

Either your dates are off or the unreliable u/s weight prediction is off. I've heard of that before someone was told they were having an over 10lb baby and had to have a scheduled c-section when the baby came out it only weighed over 7 lbs... you can have a long skinny baby there is no way for them to measure fat, they only measure the limbs and estimate i'd get another opinion

Is it possible you were off on your original dates? And remember u/s can be off by approx. 13 oz. either way, that's almost a lb. At my 33 week u/s I was measuring 5lb 6oz. Also, how is your belly measurements? You should be measuring 33 cm this week. My docs have said my belly is growing right on target, even though they thought I was measuring big at 33 weeks u/s. Hey just be careful. The u/s arent always accurate and can give you false weights. Make sure they dont induce you too early... How early were they thinking? DO they think you could have the wrong due date or just a big baby?

Hi there--
I too, am 30 weeks and measuring 33. My doc says she'll do an ultrasound in a couple weeks just to make sure! I'm pretty sure it's the way I'm carrying, though. My baby is reallllllllllly high up...so she says that can skew it! I was a bit worried at first too, but after talking to more people and reading up on measuring, it's pretty inaccurate. Even an ultrasound can be way off! We'll just have to wait and see!!! Hopefully we won't have giant babies!

Hi there, I saw your post & I'm in the same position. I'm currently about 34.5 wks, and have been measuring ahead for quite a while now. In fact at my 32 wk appt, my fundal height was measuring at 37 wks. My baby was weighing large even at my 2O wk u/s, but my dr wasn't concerned at that time. Well, s/he has continued to measure large. I had an u/s at 33wks, 6 days, and was measuring at 35 wks, 4 days. My dr estimated that my baby already weighs 6.5 lbs -- and at this stage in pregnancy, they gain 1/2 lb per wk -- but big babies tend to gain even more! So if you do the math... that puts mine at minimally 9.5 lbs at 4O wks... and probably more! So... they're keeping a close eye on me too, and I will have another u/s at 37 wks. My dr said I MAY need a c-section, but there's no telling until we get closer to my due date. I was terrified of having a c-section, but the more we talked about it, I'm ok w/ it -- I just want my little one to get here safely. So I know it can be nervewracking to be measuring ahead, but as long as your dr is keeping an eye on it, it's probably fine. They're not changing your due date, are they? My dr won't change mine, even w/ how far ahead I'm measuring. They say that the most accurate indicators of due dates are the u/s's in the 1st trimester. I thought that was interesting.

The same thing happened to me, my little starfish man has been 3-5 ounces bigger than he should be, putting me 1-2 weeks sooner than my due date, and my period dates were exact! All i can say is u will feel more faster, so to speak, i have- well, alot of the complaints and ailments i have had a week or two before i should have.. My pelvic floor/groin muscles feel heavy right now.. Have u been feeling any of that yet??? Well, keep me posted and all the best... :o)

Everything is probably fine.. I was measuring two weeks early for a while and now its all on track to where she should be.. Sometimes there can be too much fluid whcih is why you measure big or the baby is just a bit bigger.. If they had any doubt that you were going to deliver a 10 pound baby they would most likely induce or have a c section but you have time. just enjoy the last 10 weeks:)

I had my midwife appointment today and I measured 35 weeks pregnant. She didn't seem concerned and I googled it when I got home and it said sometimes this is normal. I have a scheduled ultrasound at 36 weeks to check babies weight and fluid. Just thought I'd tell you don't worry too much because I pretty much know when I conceived too and I think my due date is right on target. Take care and congrats!

Hey Holly....I sleep with a Obus Forme memory foam pillow (the kinda in that weird shape.....and then I support my belly with a wedge pillow (you can buy them both at walmart) /i find that the proper support and position of my head and neck and the wedge pillow making sure my spine is kept straight makes me wake up not only well rested but I haven't had a day of sore back yet! Hope that helps!!!
