IT'S A BOY!!!

Hello!

Just to do a quick introduction: my name is Hailey. My husband and I have been married for a year and a half (married on 11/11/2006). We are expecting our first child on December 16th! This is my first time being pregnant, this is my husband's first time as well. We're very excited!

I decided to write down how I'm feeling week by week, because knowing me, I will forget :)

Week 6, 4/26/2008:

This past week, I had my first ultrasound and found out how far along I really am. I seriously thought I was 7 weeks, but apparently I'm only 6. Oh well. In the past few weeks, I was having some pretty bad cramps. It felt like AF was paying me a visit, but she wasn't there :) Now, on week 6, the cramps have subsided greatly. I've been feeling them every once in a while, but not to the scale that they were in the last few weeks. I'm not having to pee as much as a few weeks ago which is GOOD. But I'm still eating anything I can get my hands on! It's waking me up at night. Ever since I became pregnant, I've been waking up at night (which is not like me at all). THAT is getting really old because it's just adding to me being tired. I'm usually very awake in the mornings, but after 1-2 pm, I start getting extremely tired. I'm incredibly lazy and my house is showing it! It's really driving me crazy! Well, I think that's it for now :)

6 weeks, 6 days, 4/28/2008:

Today is the first day that I threw up. :( I hope it doesn't last!

7 weeks, 2 days, 5/1/2008:

Today is the first day that I've felt pretty good. It's thursday, I threw up on Monday. I wasn't feeling so hot over the weekend, but I thought it was just the weather. Today was the first day that I woke up hungry in almost a week, so I got to eat some cereal. I noticed that as long as I keep eating, I won't feel sick. It's easier said than done because every time I think of food, it grosses me out. I can't wait for the first trimester to be done with! But I'm still very thankful that I'm still able to work and that I'm not so sick that I feel like I'm going to die. It's just a little nausea and I can deal with it. I consider myself blessed. Oh, and I'm still backed up, if you know what I mean... I can't wait to see my baby!!

5/9/2008, 8 weeks and 3 days:

I'm soooo tired. I haven't been sick lately, just starving all the time. I feel like I have to eat all the time! I'm still really stopped up :( I've gained probably around 7 pounds, so I'm a little sad about that. I had my first doctor's appointment this week, but it was just a pap, physical and blood test. I didn't get another ultrasound or hear the heartbeat. I was a little bummed. My next appointment is in 4 weeks on June 6th, I'll be 12 weeks then. That is when I will be able to hear the heartbeat! I hope I get another ultrasound too!! I can't wait for that, but in the meantime, I'm just eating and gaining away :( I know this baby will be nice and fed!

9 Weeks, 3 days: 5/16/2008:

Well, this week defintely has not been my favorite! I've been nauseous and weak most of the week. Yesterday I had a very good day, but that was it! I found out on Monday that I had a urinary tract infection so I've been on anitbiotics that make me drowsy, so that could be why I've been feeling so bad. I'm really looking forward to joining week 10!!

10 weeks, 3 days: 5/23/2008:

My queasiness has greatly subsided this week! I feel like I'm getting fatter though. I weighed myself this morning and I was 142, just like at my 8 week appointment. So that means that I have gained 7 pounds throughout my pregnancy so far... oh what a fatty I've become! I've been having a bit more cramping the past couple of days, especially at night when I'm about to go to bed. But they're not bad cramps, just the regular stretching cramps. I've been feeling a little bit of pressure on my pelvic bone, especially on the left side. I'm guessing that must be my uterus? I didn't think it was going to get that big until week 11, but oh well!

11 weeks, 4 days: 5/31/2008:

This past week I got a sinus infection or head cold... something that really sucked! I got a 99.5 fever, but it felt like 101. Other than that, I haven't really gotten any morning sickness. I threw up once this week, but that was when I was sick with a fever, and I think I just got up too fast. I don't know, it just didn't feel awesome. I've been getting a streatching cramp on the left side, I think it's my uterus but it's higher than my books say that my uterus should be... but seriously! Weird... Oh and I woke up this morning and my tummy was much bigger than usual. We'll see what happens!

12 weeks, 6 days: 6/9/2008:

I'm slacking on writing every week! This week I'm still VERY tired! I'm not sick, but I still get grossed out with the thought of eating chicken (unless it's an original chick-fil-a sandwich) and I can't eat too fast. But I cannot stress how incredibly TIRED I am!! oh my goodness!! Well, this past Friday (today is Monday) I heard my baby's heartbeat. I thought it was kind of slow, so I asked the doctor if that was normal. She said it's still average, yet on the slower side. Then she said "it's what we call a BOY's heartbeat" This of course made my husband so happy! I was happy to hear that my baby is still in there, since I hadn't seen it since my 6 week U/S. I also found out that I won't get an U/S until I'm 20 weeks! That's not fair! Oh well, 13 weeks tomorrow!! :)

PS: One of my best friends said that when her mom was pregnant with her, that she had a very lazy heartbeat too. The doctors told her mom that she was defintely having a boy with that heartbeat. Well, my best friend is a GIRL. So there's still hope LOL

13 weeks, 3 days: 6/13/2008:

Well, this week, I'm tired! What else is new! Not really any morning sickness. I'm hungry all the time and I'm eating alot, I'm guessing that this baby is having a BIG growth spurt this week! :) And still emotional. I cry at everything. Even at movies that I've seen 100 times or more, I cry. Tummy is getting bigger, but not rounder. I'm waiting to "pop"! Hopefully it will come soon!! Another thing, I think my bb's have shrunk from the size that they were a couple of weeks ago :( I'm a littl sad about that. But my nipples have become a little elongated (sorry TMI for some of you). It's weird... kind of a little gross. But that's what is supposed to happen! :)

14 weeks, 6 days: 6/23/2008:

I almost forgot to write about 14 weeks. Well, I'm "officially" in the 2nd trimester! I've been feeling good, I haven't been feeling sick at all. I'm still tired, but not nearly as tired as I was before! That's GREAT! The only thing I've been plagued with is headaches... I'm not sure if it's because I'm pregnant, or because of the heat. I'm just happy that we're allowed to take Tylenol! I have a definte baby bump, but it's still not noticeable if I wear regular clothes. But if I wear maternity clothes or a dress, people can kind of tell. It still looks like I have a gut, except for the fact that it looks like a ball LOL. I can't wait to see how it continues to grow! I haven't taken a picture of it this week, but I defintely will next week!

17 Weeks, 0 days: 7/8/2008:

Oops! I forgot to write for week 15 and 16! What a dork! Well, at 15 weeks, I felt my first kicks. My husband felt it too! At week 16, I was sleeping on my side and felt HARD kicks. I haven't felt really hard kicks since then, but I've felt some movement here and there. It's awesome! I haven't gotten sick, I'm pretty much back to normal. I still gag a little when I brush my teeth, but it's not as bad as it was 3 weeks ago. People are starting to notice that I look pregnant. Over the past couple of days, my stomach has been pretty big, but I haven't taken a picture just in case it was bloating. It's so confusing! Also, I'm very excited because I find out if there's a boy or girl in my tummy on July 29th!!! Everyone is telling me it's a boy, so I have that in my head. I'll be surprised and HAPPY either way! I just can't wait to know, I want to be able to picture everything!

18 weeks, 6 days: 7/21/2008:

Well, nothing much this week! My belly is just growing VERY FAST! I've been feeling some cramping in my uterus and tummy. It's not bad cramping, just a little uncomfortable, especially if I push on my tummy or accidentally roll over too much while sleeping. It may just be getting so close to my skin that I can feel it. Either way, everything is going good! 8 more days until I have the big U/S!!!! Can't wait!

19 weeks, 3 days: 7/25/2008:

So far so good, not too much to talk about this week. I think I'm starting to feel little kicks more and more, but they're still not hard enough to really feel on the outside. My stomach is getting much bigger. It feels like it's growing bigger every day! My belly button is still much more shallow, but it's not an outtie just yet! I can't wait until Tuesday (today is Friday) so I can find out if there is a boy or girl in there!!! I also want to make sure that the baby is healthy! I can't wait!

20 weeks, 6 days: 8/4/2008:

Well, everything is all bueno so far! I had the U/S 6 days ago and it's a baby boy! I guess everyone knew what they were talking about after all! And little Jacob Immanuel seems to be very healthy. I'm starting to feel him alot more now. This morning, I think he may have had the hiccups, but maybe I'm just crazy! I really don't like it when he kicks my bladder though... Tomorrow is Arturo's 26th birthday, so that'll be fun!

22 weeks, 6 days: 8/18/2008:

I've been slacking on writing every week! Well, this past two weeks have been going good. I'm finally feeling Jacob kick harder and harder. It's finally to the point where I can see my belly jump and other people can really feel him when they're touching my tummy! I'm so happy about that! I've gained probably around 20 pounds, not too happy about that, but at least it's for a good cause. And hey, I'm pregnant! I have an excuse :) Yesterday I noticed that my feet were a little puffy.... I probably had too much salt and was retaining water. Hopefully alot of the "20 pounds" that I've gained is water! I have a doctors appointment in exactly one week, so we'll see what my doctor has to say about my weight gain. She's not going off of what I was pre-pregnancy, but off of the weight that I was at 8 weeks along. So to her, it's not looking as bad :)

23 weeks, 6 days: 8/25/2005:

I have my 24 week check-up today... I'm nervous because of all of the weight I've gained! I haven't weighed myself in a couple of days, but I'm sure I've been packing on the poundage! Jacob has been kicking alot lately, which makes me so happy! I love the fact that I can see my belly jump when he kicks sometimes! I've been having that rib pain (as usual) but it's been really bad the last couple of days.... I'm going to talk to my doctor about it today. I'm sure that it's normal, but it's so painful and uncomfortable!

25 weeks, 2 days: 9/4/2008:

I had my 24 week check up last week... all was well. Jacob's heartbeat is at 149 bpm, normal and healthy! I didn't get to see my regular doctor, she was out, but the doctor that I did see was very nice. He did tell me that I'm gaining weight faster than I should... that made me a little sad. I think I was about 167 or 169 pounds. I can't remember for sure. He didn't seem TOO concerned. On another note, Jacob has been extremely active this week. During week 24, he didn't move around as much, but I was eating like a pig. He must have been going through a huge growth spurt. But this week, he's been kicking me like crazy... and HARD. My whole tummy moves. Sometimes he kicks so hard that it feels like he throws my equilibrium off for a second. Either way, I'm enjoying the action... except for when he comes anywhere near my bladder. That's another story...
