Hi Hammergirl! I'm having a boy also! I've come up with some names I like. Elijah, Isaiah, Connor, or Dante. I do have one son already and his name is Brayden Phillip. So, hope that helps! Il ike creative names. Not the usual Matt, Mike, Mark ... blah blah blah ... Hope that helps!! And congrats on your upcoming new son!!

Hi,just wanted to comment on your post regarding names....me and my hubby are having a boy and we love the name Connor for the time being. As a second name its easy as in my hubbies family its been tradition to name the son after his father, so we will be naming him after my hubby's dad which is James- so it will be Connor James. We also like the name Liam but so far my husband is very set on Connor. Hope i was able to help a bit and Congrats to you and your hubby

Hi, I wanted to give everyone an update on my work situation. I reported to work today at 8am my scheduled time and at 3pm 1 hr before my shift ends my boss came and called me into her office to sign the warning paperwork pertaining to the 3 days I called off in July 2 of which I had a medical excuse for. I told her that I refuse to sign the paperwork because I have medical documentation and 1 non medical excused call off is not considered excessive for 1 month. She told me I had to sign it anyway even if I did not agree and that I could write a comment on the paper and I said no, not without my legal councel rewiewing this document. I picked the paper off the table to look at It and she tried to snatch it from me stating that I was not allowed to have a copy unless I signed it. I still refused. She told me that I will be insubordinate but I still held my ground. I walked out of the office and resumed my duties until 4pm. I ultimately decided not to give in to this because I discussed this with my dad and sterpmother and they advised me that I do have rights even as a part time employee and that what they are trying to do is NOT legal. I also got alot of responses from all of you. So, I guess we'll find out what happens with me this week. Yes, I do need the money but I am not going to let anyone take my rights away, so thats why I decided to stand my ground. Oh yeah, they cancelled the zoo trip and she didn't even tell me to come to work and when I brought that up she got defensive and said she had already found coverage. Anyway, I hope everyones pregnancy is going well and I want to thank everyone who responded to my post needing advice.

I just wanted to give everyone an update: I talked with alot of you abot my terrible appt with my midwife ( she was real nasty to me) last Tues and that the u/s report stated that they weren't able to get a good look at my babys entire head, so of course I worried that something was wrong with my babys head. I had my u/s this morning and everything is good (his head is completely normal) I was worrying myself for no reason. Also, my midwife wasn't so nasty to me today; I mentioned to her about the sharp pains in my cervix and she told me not to worry unless I was having strong contraction like pains. She offered to check me but said that checking sometimes causes more problems and irritates the cervix, so I did not get checked. I only worry about preterm labor because I was dilated 1 1/2 cm and contracting at 22 weeks with my first son; I was given medication and Iv fliuds and the labor did not progress. Anyhow, now that my u/s has proven my baby to be healthy I can finally quit stressing. I was just told to take it easy and not overdue myself as far as walking and activities are concerned. Thank you for listening to my complaints.lol. I was just stressing about the head issue way too much.

Hi girls thank you everyone for your concern, I'm sure you read my comment this morning and heres the news.......I went to my u/s with my hubby, kids and bff and everything is ok, my cervix is closed and measuring 4.7 cm or whatever they calculate (which is in normal range), the baby weighs 12 oz ( a can of pop, lol), h/r 154 bpm and I am measuring 20 weeks 3 days, but my due date will remain the same. Heres the big news..........................ITS A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Omg he is so cute and we saw him swallowing the anmniotic fluid and he was kicking and moving all around. I was in tears and my husband was so proud! I got pictures and a mini video on a dvd that my hubby and I are going to look at later when he comes home from work. I am so excited! The u/s tech told me not to worry about the spotting since my cervix looks good. Also, we did not get the afp test as most of you know , but the u/s confirmed that the baby is healthy. Sorry to update everyone so late but I spent the day at my bff's house, but I'm home now. Thank you all for your concern; I had 15 messages waiting for me. Hugs..Christina

yeah i know, it is def haunting me!! uhm but he will leave me and if it is his child he will do whatever he can to take her from me. i really hate that i am in this situation, but i really dont see what else i can do. if she is not his, then i have to leave anyway, this is a terrible thing that i have done, im am just imagining when it all comes out and his family and my family find out, it will be just horrible. and i dont even talk to the other guy anymore. i just have to ride it out and i do think this hsunting is my part of my punishiment, i feel really guilty and hate living this way, but i would hate to break his heart during the pregnancy, im just gonna wait till i know for sure.. ugh!

Thanks for the response; it is reassuring to hear that other girls are experiencing the same as me. I just wish the cramping would go away; it makes me so nervous. I feel the baby move alot and my big u/s is next Thurs and we are very excited. I hope the baby is not shy; we want to find out the sex. When is your u/s have you felt your baby move?

Too bad for him (employer not having dealt with a pregnant employee). You do your job and that's the only relevant fact! I'm dieing to know what he's gonna say now.
Don't lose your confidence when you walk in there; you have every right to a career and children! Us women bust our buts to get a career going and then we have the added pressure of wanting, even needing to have a family and all involved. It's hard enough to juggle the two without a boss adding any undue stress. Ideally he needs to be understanding, but I know as good as anybody this world can be less than ideal.
It seems your being hard on yourself. I'm sure everything will go fine with your boss. You seem someone who strives for excellence. I'm sure that is reflected in your work. I'm like that anyway.
Are you planning to go back to work shortly after baby is born? The reason I'm asking is when you set high standards for yourself in work, you'll do the same for yourself in parenting. Before Jullien was born I was in school with plans to become a lawyer. Then after Jullien was born I had to re-evaluate. The thought of 12 hours days with a small child was unbearable to me. Leaving him with a babysitter was even boarderline. I managed to finish my degree in Psyc. but decided to put a hault to any post-degree stuff until I felt my children didn't need me around as much. I don't know when that time will come, but this is my last baby and when he or she is about 2 I'm thinking of getting a career going for real. Until then I'm doing this daycare to bring in a little extra cash. It ends at the end of August and you bet I'm looking forward to the break before baby #3.

It's funny. I picked out the names for my children before they were born. Jullien is more sensitive than Austin and was easy during the terrible-twos. Austin just doesn't get intimidated by my no's and plays hard all day. Jullien was a clingy infant while Austin was content to sit and watch the world go by. Jullien had excellent articulation and was talking in full sentences by two. Austin is turing two tomorrow and I've been trying to teach him the word "two" all day. Austin's baby nickname was Bubba, while Jullien's was Little Lover. So you are very acurate. Your intuition is probably good with the baby in your tummy too. I'm guessing you want a boy, b/c being a tomboy you probably have great relationships with the guys in your life. I would like a girl, but am a little nervous about it, only b/c I find some girls hard to understand, while guys seem so straight forward. If I have a girl I just hope she's a good fit for me personality wise.

yes, i want to know the sex, i love surprises too, but i am far too organized to wait until the end, i want to prepare everything before the birth, i had my first scan at 9 weeks cos we didnt know how far i was pregnant and my next one is on the 7th of July which will be 21 weeks, i will find out the sex then and they will look at anomalies with the baby (fingers crossed there is nothing wrong) my belly is not rounding just yet but it does pop out in the evening after dinner and then it's flat again in the morning.... take care XXX
