BABY EMMA IS HERE!!!

Baby Emma made her way into the world on Friday at 12:23 am 7 lbs and 9 oz 21 inches long. I woke up Thursday with contractions that were about 8 minutes apart lasting about 1 minute long. We went to the dr and he said that I was a finger tip dilated and that I could either go home and relax and wait or go to the hospital. We ended up going home to leave for the hospital at 6:30. He then checked me again and said that I was only a finger tip still but they are going to go ahead and admit me. He said that they would give me something to take to get some sleep because they would start me on pitocin and break my water in the morning. I took a pill at 10pm and was starting to feel it by 10:30. But then about 11 I got really strong contrations. After about 20 minutes my husband said we will get the nurse to check me. I didn't think that I changed much. I knew I went in at a finger tip and that we would start everything in the morning.I was worried that they would check me and say that I haven't changed much. Knowing that I was in that much pain and I wouldn't be able to get any pain meds. Anyhow, the nurse came in and checked me and I was complete. I was told to go ahead and call the people we want to be in the room and they are going to call the dr. Another nurse came in and checked me just to make sure the first nurse was right. As soon as she touched me my water broke. They pretty much held my legs together and helped me breathe. Anyhow she arrived at 12:23 with no pain meds! She came so fast they didn't have time to give me anything for pain. They told me for my next child that I need to just walk the halls when it is close to my due date!

Emma is growing so much! I can't believe she is 3 months already. My baby is growing. She is smiling and talking and trying to laugh and even sitting up better. Soon she will be sitting up on her own. The only thing that drives me crazy is that she crys the whole time in the car. As soon as you out her in the car seat and walk out the door she is crying. Last weekend I noticed that she fell asleep when it was raining outside so I thought I would buy a rain cd. Of course when you go to the store they never have what your looking for so we got the ocean instead. That worked for about a day or so. You would think that after crying for so long she would be sleepy and give in. Not my baby girl!

I have also returned to work 4 weeks ago. That has been the hardest thing ever! I was going to stay at home with her but we aren't in the right spot to do so. I work 10 hours a day 4 days a week, and it is hard. I feed her in the morning and I get my smiles. Then she says home with my husband. That helps out a lot know that she is at home and getting all the attention! Plus he sends me pictures all day log of her!

I am still breastfeeding. It is going ok. I think Emma is going thru a growth spirt and she is always eating. I was at the point where I couldn't keep up with her. It is really hard to work, pump at home and work, feed her, and keep the house together (including dinners). I am actually taking pills to help increase my supply. Some days I wasn't pumping enough. Things are getting better. I have a lot of friends that have breastfed and can help me out with anything!
