Hello everyone
I check my myspace more often if you want to write. www.myspace.com/cherubmama
I am new to this site, and just wanted to write a quick something. I live in WI, married for 2 years to Robbee (together for 6), and we have a 5-year-old boy, Caleb. He is diagnosed with autism. I am very nervous for Laylah's (yes, it's a girl!) arrival, as he is EXTREMELY hyperactive and is not aware of dangerous situations.
I found out I was pregnant on June 14th, 2007, and found out she was a girl on September 26:) I didn't actually see the ultrasound though, so the tech better be right, or I'm out a lot of money. Already bought all pink:)
I have had a few scares with this pregnancy. Very early, at about 6-8 weeks, they said I was going to miscarry. Then at 3 months my doc said that there were amniotic bands. At 20 weeks they did not see them anymore. Whew! I am still very nervous. She is very mellow, I don't feel her move hardly ever during the day, and sometimes at night. Nothing like my son, who we called out Kung Fu fighter in the womb!

Monday, 6 October Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Wednesday, 30 Jan hey,
she stayed in the nicu for 3 weeks due to being small and she had a hard time eating. she just needed to eat and gain weight, everything else was fine! she's home now and breastfeeding like a champ! good luck with everything! i was induced at 35 weeks and 5 days due to her growth rate slowing down and me having elevated levels of toxemia. newmommy2b21 -
Friday, 25 Jan Hey... The doc never said what causes IUGR only that there is no known cause for it... Right after she was born she was taken to the NICU we stayed there for a week and was released on the 22nd... She weighed 4.6 lbs and they put an IV in her head and a fedding tube in her nose... but she is doing really well now.... If you have a specific questions feel free to ask them at any time... Hope everything goes well.... slvrmoon -
Tuesday, 22 Jan I had my son at 30 weeks. 4ish pounds is small for 37 weeks, so I assume they are taking her because they believe she'll do better out side of the womb? If her small size is just caused by a malfunctioning placenta or umbilical cord, I'm sure your baby will be fine. It's so hard not to worry though. Hang in there! They are always worth it in the end =) rookie -
Tuesday, 22 Jan I agree, I would have never thought of anything like it either except for hearing things on the news. I remember hearing a story on news a year or two ago about a woman that watched the newspaper and when she saw a birth announcement, she went to that house and kidnapped the baby. Someone she knew turned her in and the baby was returned to the father, but how scary a thought. Anyway, I was just thinking I could post that message and hope that Mom's are using caution with their info. rookie -
Tuesday, 22 Jan I don't see a need to delete your profile. I just wanted to suggest that people use caution on giving out to much info. Think about the horror stories we've heard before. I've seen some people list where they're from, then have kids pics with their school team on them. Or, some have listed the hospital they're delivering in, saying it's a C-section with the date scheduled. Too much info, don't you agree? It's just a bit scary. mamagarces -

Wednesday, 9 Jan I have borrowed car seats, so I have taken the covers out of a Graco model and an Evenflow, so it is possible. Depending on the model, you need to do different things. You might want to try looking up your model number online to see whether there are some instructions there. The instruction booklet that comes with the seat should have instructions in it too. Good luck! babytigerrain -
Wednesday, 9 Jan Girl, she was 100% healthy, & natural all the way! I actually got a book called '_'LIFE UNTO LIFE_' Fetal Growth & Development' from the Health Department & in it it says:'FULL-TERM BABY 6 POUNDS- Not all small babies that weigh less than 5 1/2 pounds are premature. Some of these babies have developed for the full term of pregnancy but are considered small for their gestational age. Their skin is often wrinkled, and they may have lost fat deposits. These conditions may be due to a placenta that has not funtioned well or to genetic or environmental factors.' I'll try to get up a picture of the page in the book. But that's what it says word-for-word. My little girl is now 4 years old. She's smaller than alot of the kids in her class but my family is on the small side. (My oldest sister who's 36 is like 5 feet tall and weighs like 92 lbs.) Hick I'm the tallest out of my sisters & parents. (I'm only 5 ft. 3 in.) So don't worry. Your baby girl will be just fine! Take Care & check back on my VIP photo book later for the pic of the book. shellybelly81 -
Wednesday, 9 Jan He never stayed in the NICU, he was perfect when he came out, thank God. They were even really surprised because he latched on my breast so easily. They thought because he was tiny that he would struggle with feeding but he amazed everyone :o) I went to the doctor for my 36 week check up and my blood pressure was extremely high. She ordered me to go to Labor & Delivery to check for protein in my urine. I couldn't even make it to the hospital I was in severe pain. I didn't know if it was contractions or what because it was my first baby. I called my husband (he was meeting me from work) so he picked me up and drove me there. I had a sudden onset of hellp syndrome. I showed no signs until right then. Apparently, it was my liver that was hemmorhaging. That was the extreme pain. They told me I was being induced, when they went to break my water the nurse said that it had already broken so I guess my body was a little quicker than they were. I was given magnesium sulfate to stop my body from seizures which counteracted with the pitocin. I reached 6 cm and was told that my blood platelets have dropped too low and I needed to have an emergency csection. They told my husband in the hallway that if they don't get the baby out now that I will die. I didn't even know what was going on at that point but they rushed me to have an emergency csection, he came out within minutes. It was really exciting and emotional. I never knew what I had so actually it made me more calm and I wasn't all freaked out about anything. The stinky thing was, I was still not out of the graveyard so I was on the high risk floor for 2 days and didn't see my baby until the next day at noon. I couldn't even hold him because I was so weak and I was afraid I'd drop him. I literally was out of it and sleepy so it passed by really quickly anyway. The next night I moved to a normal mother baby room and had the baby with me for 5 days in the hospital. It was hard because of the recovery with the csection, I was in a lot of pain. My husband helped a lot. Jacob left 1 day after me because he had jaundice and they waited til his levels dropped. I did a lot of research on hellp syndrome and I am just thankful that my doctor knew about it and took care of me. He's been really careful with this pregnancy. I am constantly getting labwork done for my liver and blood just to make sure. So far, no signs. I have a 30% chance for it to come back the scary thing is, it only appears in the 3rd trimester at anytime so I am not out of the ball park yet. shellybelly81 -
Tuesday, 8 Jan I have a picture of my son on my website. I had IUGR and delivered him at 37 weeks but he was only 4 lbs. I posted a couple photos of him. He was tiny. Preemie diapers were huge on him and he was swimming in preemie clothes! He was literally half the weight of a normal baby born, you know? He was healthy as can be. He has always been 0% for his weight but finally at his 2 year check up at his pediatrician he is on the charts! I think he was like 20% or something like that :o) sherriJH -
Tuesday, 8 Jan LOL, no way, this was our last attempt at tempting fate for a girl & I think God just laughed at me. I am convinced I will have lots of granddaughters one day, then I can spoil them & send them home!
Congrats on your little girl! babytigerrain -
Tuesday, 8 Jan Hey, with my first pregnancy my daughter only weighed 5 lbs. 14.9 oz. when she was born, & she was only 10 days earily! She's been healthy and fine from day one. I don't really think weight has that much to do with rather a childs healthy. Hope this helps... take care! Heather12 -
Monday, 31 Dec I really like the pregnancy survey on your page. How did you get it on there? I'm new to this site. dodgetrklvr -
Wednesday, 12 Dec Actually lol, a Packers fan from California living in Colorado because that's where the Air Force sent me.:) harger2b -
Tuesday, 11 Dec I hear you! When I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I can't fall asleep for like 2 hours. I saw you asked one of the other mommies about the test to determine if you are going into labor in the next week or two. I had it done on Friday, and it is just like a pap smear. They just swab you on the inside and send off the sample. Well I hope everything is going well for you. Your family is really cute, and seems to be becoming more complete:) Good luck with everything! slvrmoon -
Tuesday, 11 Dec Thanks! ecstaticmommy2b -
Tuesday, 11 Dec It's actally a vaginal test, I think it's sort of like when they swab you for concerous cells...I'm not 100% sure, but I will definitely keep you posted on all the details!!! melSue01 -
Monday, 10 Dec heididelposen- did you happen to catch the Oprah episode with Jenny Mccarthy? Her son suffers from autism, she was very, very informative about autism, she also put out a book. she believes these immunizations are not a 'one shot fits all children' and her doctor all but cussed her out the day she took her son in for his one year shots and had a reeeeally bad feeling about it, needless to say, he convinced her it was 'ludicrious' and said 'these pathetic mothers are looking for anything to blame this condition on.' She said literally a couple of days after the shots she noticed an immediate change in her son(not born with autism) He was completely detached and didn't enjoy doing things most toddlers his age did. She goes on to tell about diet changes and behavioral therapy her son takes part in, and she also said that the CDC has finally, finally started to 'LOOK' into a link between certain drugs in these immunizations and the possible link to autism. I would definitely check out the book. My prayers go out to you and your family, it's so hard to know in your heart that you are doing the right thing, but if it doesn't feel right, don't do it. I believe that these medications definitely affect different children in different ways. Very best of luck. HeidiDelposen -
