Ok, about me... Well, there isn't much to tell! I am happily married to my wonderful husband, Allen. He is truly my soul mate...We just welcomed our son, Jaeden, on September 1st after a long hard labor. It's been really tough for the first little bit, many complications with me and a few with Jaeden, but it is slowly getting better! We live on 20 acres in the country, and are the proud parents of 4 dogs and 2 cats. Right now, I LOVE to sleep, but normally I like to work on our house and around the property - it is a neverending project! I like to decorate, although I'm a little slow with the inspirations. We are both volunteer firefighters and members of a dive rescue team, although I am on maternity leave. Both of us enjoy doing what we can to help people when they need it the most. I hope we touch peoples lives as God has given us the desire to do this... I love to travel and look forward to where we will go next!

Wow, I just weighed Rose and she's 9 pounds 6 ounces. I'm creating a little chubber! LOL.

I can't believe that people were lecturing Allen about holding him and playing with him. I would think that they'd be impressed that a daddy wanted to be so involved with his little boy.

People haven't been telling me too much what to do at all. I have a ton of first time mommy friends, so they're really respectful and helpful. My mom's enjoying being an important part of my life right now, so she's really careful. Russell's mom sometimes gives me funny advice and input (like thinking Rose has diarrhea because it's runny), but most of the time she's wonderful. I have a very strong personality, so people just might be afraid to tell me what to do!

Rose got TERRIBLE baby acne for a few weeks. It really made me so sad. I bought Aveeno, didn't help. Then I got Burt's Bees, which smells heavenly and seemed to clear up both the acne and the beginnings of the cradle cap she was getting. Her skin feels rough on her cheeks, but it looks so much better.

I have the same little bumps all around my elbow and upper arm. They're tiny, hard, whitish and pinkish dots. What the hell is that?

What does Allen do when being advised about how to take care of Jaeden?

I absolutely can't follow a conversation unless it's Russell talking to me. I'm used to my mind being my best asset and it's just crazy that I can't think straight. When I was trying to think of what to bring on my trip, I just kept forgetting everything. I just don't know how in the heck I'll be able to teach. I'm usually fun, spontaneous, and creative in my classroom. I am just going to be the biggest idiot.

I'm sorry about you'r crying part. It is so sweet, though. Your story shows me just how much you love Allen. I'm sure he didn't mean to scare you so much. I'm sure he'll be around for a looooooooooooooooong time.

Were you able to bite your tongue with your MIL?

I'm glad that you got to see your grandma. I'll bet that seeing Jaeden perked her up.

I haven't gotten anything done either! I'm exhausted. I have all kinds of things to put away and clean, but I just want to watch tv or read. Rose is being really good today at least. She's definitely snuggly.

I don't think that it's bad at all that you're hiding out and avoiding being sociable. It really is so much work to have a coherent conversation right now. I was told that it's really the worst in the first 6 months and that it gets better after that. I certainly hope so, because these days I'm happy when my girlfriends flake out on me for plans!

I'm sorry you're home alone this week. Russell's out playing music Tuesday and Friday, so I made him stay home tonight. He obliged so he will be rewarded with my kick-ass chili!

Happy birthday Jaeden! Why does Jaeden need an adjustment at the chiro?

Jeez, I hope that your hospital bill is only 1% of the cost you stated!

My trip was wonderful. I needed it so much. I had a pretty severe breakdown on Friday. I don't know what happened really, but I cried until I got sick at my stomach. It might've been a bit of post-partum. It might've just been too many stressers piling up. Anyway, I'm all better now. Russell was very romantic. He cooked for me, took care of the baby and me, and told me how pretty I was all of the time.

Awww...thanks for saying little Rose looks like me. Russell and I are still trying to figure out who she looks like. It's a daily discussion!

How was your trip? Are you glad to be home?

adriennella - Thursday, 9 October
Hey!!!!!!!! I'm no stinker! LOL...well, maybe sometimes!

I have been so so lazy today. It's almost 3 and I just took a shower. All I've done is nurse, sleep, and read. I'm going out to Target now to pick up some bread and just get out of my house. Russell and his mom are giving me a break tonight so I get official alone time! It taked about 15 minutes to get to the place I'm going, so Russell said I could have an hour. I was like...WHAT! I'm getting 2.

I'm going to try to take some special pictures this weekend. Russell's mom gave me some family heirloom clothes, so I'm going to try to dress her up and do a photo shoot. The cabin I'm going to is sooooooo relaxing. There're nothing to do there (unless it's ski season), and I think that makes it the perfect weekend getaway spot.

Have you packed for your trip? I am trying to think of what to bring! I guess I need lots of burp cloths, her boppy to sit in (she currently loves that thing), baby wash, the breast pump with the car adapter, a pack and play, and the diaper bag. What am I missing?

adriennella - Thursday, 9 October
LOL. I think she looks adorable, too! Thanks.

Oh my gosh, you must be so exhausted! Are you feeding on a schedule? I have no idea how often she eats during the day. I'm going to have Russell write down all of the feeding times this weekend so I get a bit of a handle on it!

Russell and I are going away this weekend, too. We're headed to his family's cabin in the mountains just to get away from it all. I'm really excited. Also, his mom is watching Rose next week so we can have a real, official long date in San Francisco!!!

Glad you're smelling nice. I'm a stinker!

adriennella - Thursday, 9 October
I posted one of Rose smiling, but Russell says that she looks like an old man in it! It's on my page. I'll put some cuter ones on facebook later.

How was your night? I'm totally exhausted today! I look a fright, haven't even showered!

KelliO - Thursday, 9 October
Hey Holly!

Jaeden is too cute! Does he have to have an ultrasound done on his kidneys?

adriennella - Thursday, 9 October
I didn't find my Mary Jane's today, but that's Ok...I'll keep looking.

Jaeden is so completely adorable with his cutie smiling! I love it!

Hi Holly, I LOVE your profile pic....someone looks like they suit motherhood!!!....and your wee fella is just lovely....

I miss all our fun chats on our week...it's not quite the same on the baby pages...we never seem to all be on at the same time...I miss everyone....

I hope you are doing well and getting plenty sleep...how do you like being a mummy?...is he good?....

Reuben is a wee star, the most contented baby I've had.....he eats like a horse!!!...he was weighed just under 2 weeks ago and tipped the scale at 11 lb 1 oz, so I reckon he's over 11.7 now...hes 5 weeks old .....his big brothers adore him totally....it's so sweet!...

Where are you going on your trip again? Maybe there will be a consignment store where you can get a stroller??? I think they're so essential, and people are always getting rid of them.

I'm headed out for a coffee and to try to find black Mary Janes for Rose. I'm ridiculous, but I love dressing her up. She's going to end up being a tomboy due to all of this frilliness I'm subjecting her to!

adriennella - Wednesday, 8 October
I don't know what I'd do without my cart attachment for the carseat. Trader Joes (the only grocery store I go to these days) makes carts too small for her carseat!

I'm so self conscious when Rose cries in front of people that I can't think straight. I've never felt more brain dead in my life. It's like half of my brain isn't working when she's crying!

Have some great soup! Speaking of soup, I think I still owe you a recipe for that stew I make...Ok, here goes:
Measurements are made up...can't remember how much!

Use a 3 to 4 pound lean roast or whatever beef's on sale. Have the butcher cut it into 1 1/2 to 2 inch cubes for you.

Cut up 6 carrots and two big onions and saute in a pan with olive oil, salt, and pepper

Saute the beef (so you sear the edges)

Dump all of this, plus at least a half bottle of red wine (I use $2 Trader Joe's Merlot or Cab), 1/2 can of tomato paste and 1 tsp. of cinnamon and 1 tsp of cloves in a crockpot. Cook for 5 hours or longer. The longer you cook it, the better it tastes. I usually end up adding more wine, cloves, and cinnamon as I cook it.

YOu can use really, really lean meat because the wine acts as a tenderizer.

Serve it with egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or just some crusty bread and cheese. Yum!

I know...they're CRAZY to stop making Plumeria!

Who knows...I may send you another package of randomness (that's what I call them) some other time.

That's great that you got new stuff for yourself! Trying stuff on with Rose in the dressing room is such a chore. I'm going out on my own on Thursday to get a few things.

WHoa, you're incredible! I wouldn't know the first thing about turning a roast into a soup. Impressive!

I didn't go swimming. Rose got cranky with some gas, so I haven't gone out. I'll go out tonight or something...or maybe just tomorrow at this point. I'm so tired. Night night for a bit.

adriennella - Tuesday, 7 October
Awww, I'm glad you got it! I had fun making that package. I made yours and one for my best friend in Tennessee. Hers was far more random, though!

The shower gel is from my personal stash. It's no longer made, so I bought up whatever was left in the store and have been hoarding it! I went to the mall to look for hats for Rose and found that one for Jaeden.

I'm good to go for exercise, but I'm not really doing it. If my MIL offers to watch Rose today, I might just go to the gym for a swim.

What kind of bone do you use?

Have a wonderful, wonderful day!

adriennella - Tuesday, 7 October
we have twin stomachs...what are we going to do about these things???

My life is on the internet so much of the time, too. I force myself to go out, but it just exhausts me.

I am not ok with the bodily fluids. The worst is when she throws up down my boobs...ugh.

You are a true cook! I wouldn't know how to turn a bone into stock! I'm curious about what you made!

adriennella - Tuesday, 7 October
My E key sticks on my computer and makes me insane!

I didn't lose feeling in my stomach, but the inside of my belly button feels like sandpaper. My stomach is stretchmarked and droopy, grossssssssssss.

How are you going to handle people trying to touch Jaeden this weekend? Do you have an infant carrier? Keeping Rose in hers keeps people from touching her. It also helps to hide breastfeeding. I have the slingrider which I got for under $30.

Do you get lonely without Allen? I miss Russell and am needier than usual when I first see him. I'm mostly too tired to be lonely, but I'm glad to see my friends lately.

adriennella - Monday, 6 October
Wow 30 pounds!!!!!!!! I'm so impressed!!! I lost 15 and that's it. I'm stuck. I would like to chop off parts of me.

I'm wearing my maternity pants, but they fall down. I bought some new jeans, but I have to get them taken up and I never find the time. They're so long! I wear dresses most of the time.

I also find it hard to run errands. I want to go swimming so badly and my mother in law has offered to watch Rose, but it's so hard. I tried to tell Russell that in order to go swimming for 45 minutes, I'd have to put aside nearly 3 hours with all of the driving her to grandmas and stuff. I'll have to schedule, pump, and go crazy for a short swim. I'm going to try to do it one day this week ,but it's hard.

Jobean is getting her daughter on a great eating schedule. I'm so impressed. I'm just happy with the nighttime sleeping, but I'm not good with the daily scheduling. I'm an on demand boobie stand.

Allen works a ton! How many days a week does he work?

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

I need to lose weight, too. These pounds wont budge!!

I have three kiddopotamus swaddlers, but I'm such an idiot that I forgot to use them until two nights ago! THey've just been sitting in the dresser drawer. Duh. You know what's funny, though...she seems to be able to get one of her arms out each night. Oh well.

Rose let me sleep a lot better last night and has been such a good girl today. We went out to lunch and are being lazy butts now. I've got to clean this clutter. I feel like Pigpen from Charlie Brown. A trail of crap follows me everywhere I go!

When does Allen bring you your package?

adriennella - Monday, 6 October
Whoa, Allen is one lucky man! What a glorious dinner. I'm sure it would've cost $100 in a restaurant!!

I made marinated steak, broccolini, and acorn squash with butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Russell didn't love the squash as much as I did. I had never had or made it.

Rose is a cranky butt tonight, so I've swaddled her up tight. That helps a lot.

adriennella - Monday, 6 October
Hi busy mamma!

We had a wonderful day at the beach.Rose is such a wonderful baby to take out.

My friends don't kiss Rose, she's actually only gotten kisses from my mom, Russell, and me. I'd also feel uncomfortable with lots of people kissing her.

Here's a way that you might be able to make people stop...my best friend's doc said that everyone (including her) had to stop kissing the baby to get rid of her acne. Perhaps you can say that. I've also been told that we're allowed to say, "I'm sorry. I'm a new, first time mom, and I might be a bit worried/ paranoid, but..." All mommies seem to remember their own fears of early mommyhood when that's said. I haven't used it yet, though.

Have a great night. What are you making for dinner? I'm making something new and fancy-like. I'll let you know how it works out.
