This is our first baby and we are thrilled to be expecting a Baby Girl! On my husband's side of the family there have been no daughters for as far back as anyone can remember, so I am sure this little girl is going to be spoiled by my in-laws!

Tomorrow morning is my scheduled induction! There is a possibility it may be delayed if a huge number of women go into labor tonight! I hope not cause that would be a big disappointment to have to sit around and wait for a room to become available, but we will see. At least the end is in sight.
Hubby is super-excited about tomorrow. I still feel like it is so far away, guess I have not really comprehended that I will most likely be going into labor tomorrow morning. At the moment I am so uncomfortable - my feet are swollen and painful, my knuckles hurt from my hands swelling up, my right hip does not seem to be connected to my thigh bone any more so I waddle AND limp. My thighs and lower abdomen are so sore it hurts to be upright. When I lay down though I get some sort of reflux which makes me feel like I will vomit and any moment. I think all these things, which lead to a very sleepless night last night, are distracting me from the concept that I may be in labor and fnally get to meet Baby Girl tomorrow! ugh. I want to be more enthusiastic and excited, but just can not muster the energy, which is depressing me a bit. Oh well, hubby went out to get some food, so hopefully I will feel better after I have eaten.

Well, the induction has been delayed till May 19th. The hospital u/s measured Baby Girl at around 7 LBS 8 OZ - still large for her age, but not so extreme! The hospital u/s Dr also checked out the placenta, blood flow, and all of Baby Girl's organs and everything looked good! The Dr. kept pushing down hard with the u/s thingy in order to get a good shot for the measurements and Baby Girl did NOT like it! She kept pushing back hard, making it even harder for the Dr - but all signs of good health, thank God!
Today was my regualr weekly check-up. My Dr is still concerned about the baby's size and does not want to go past my due date - May 26th. However she is worried about an increase chance of c-section the closer I am to my due date as well as placenta age. So I selected May 19th for the induction date. My husband wants me to wait and to be induced on my due date, but I am just so nervous that something will happen to Baby Girl before she is born. My husband will support me on the May 19th date but I am just so confused. I would rather have natural labor, but I am just so scared. Baby Girl will be 39 weeks on the 19th and, according to the hospital u/s, is now fully mature, so I don't think it will hurt her to be born a week early. I am just hoping I go into natural labor before the 19th. I also had an internal exam and am a little over 50% effaced but not dilated at all. Glad to hear something is happening though!

Well ladies - just learned yesterday that I am scheduled for an induction on May 11th - Mother's Day!!!! I got the call around 3pm in the afternoon and managed to hold onto the news until I could tell hubby face to face. We are both so excited to have just a little over a week left before we meet our Baby Girl! We are spending this weekend going to the movies and eating out at my favorite restaurants. The nursery is almost done, just need to finish washing clothes and putting them away. Hubby still has to install the car seat and I still have to pack my hospital bags (have had no energy these last few weeks). So I think we are ready - I am definately ready to be done being pregnant!
Oh and we are having to induce because at my last check-up the Dr measured her on the u/s (2 measurements of the head, measurements of torso and femur) and after double checking the measurements told us Baby Girl looks to be weighing in a 9LBS!!!! Holy Moly! Also she said the placenta is already building calcium deposits. I am off to the hospital on Tuesday to have the weight measurements double checked by a specialist and as long as the Dr was right about the baby's size and the placenta I am set to go on Mother's Day!
