A little about me.....

First of all I'm happily married to the man of my dreams. We have been married since May 26, 2007, and loving every minute of it. I have been diagnosed with PCOS, which has cause me to have fertility problems. But one day I hope to be a MOM. I think that being a parent is such a blessing and I can't wait until the day comes that I'm called Mommy.... Until that day we are just living life and enjoying being married. I can't wait to get to know all of you!

January 29, 2008

I thought that I would leave an update on how things are going. I got fertility tests done yesterday. I was at the doctor for what seemed like forever and I get the results back sometime within the next week or so. I also have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Which means that I have lots of cysts on and in my ovaries. The doctor is worried about my ability to concieve because of this. I have had Polycystic Ovaries for many years. So hubby and I decided to get the tests done and we are hoping that we will be able to concieve without all of the medications and injections and things like that. Right now we just have fingers crossed for a good result. Wish us luck and I'll update again later as soon as I get the results back. Thanks Ladies!

March 6, 2008 (colposcopy and ovary ultrasound)

I went to my Gyno yesterday to get a colposcopy. This is a procedure where a special microscope (colposcope) is used, along with a liquid that is put on the cervix so that abnormal cells can be seen. Well my Gyno was shocked because there were no abnormal cells at all!!! I was so happy, because just a few weeks ago I got results back from my Pap test that said I have abnormal cells. My Gyno did a few biopsies just to be sure and to be on the safe side. But everything looked good and NO ABNORMAL CELLS!!! I'm so thankful and so blessed!! This procedure wasn't very painful at all. Just some burning when the liquid was put on my cervix, and the biopsies felt like a bit of a pinch. But other than that it wasn't bad. I still have a few cramps today and that's it. I also got an ultrasound of my ovaries. I have quite a few cysts right now. My Gyno and I talked about TTC and I'm happy to say that things are also looking much better there too! She tells me that once I do get pregnant everything should go fine!!! The only problem is that the PCOS will make it harder to get pregnant. It takes longer to get pregnant if you have PCOS. But I have so much faith that when I do finally get pregnant I will have a very healthy pregnancy and a very healthy baby!!! I'm just so thankful that things are going better. We are so blessed!

If anyone has any questions about PCOS or the Colposcopy procedure just message me and I'll be happy to give advice or info.

June 2, 2008 UPDATE

Well it's been a while since I've had a chance to get on here and give an update. So here goes.....Well I went to the Gyno about 5 weeks ago and I'm now taking Ortho Tricyclen Lo, Prenatal Vitamins and an extra folic acid suppliment. She wants me to take birth control because right now my reproductive system isn't healthy enough to try for a baby. So our goal is to get rid of the cysts that I have on and in my ovaries and then to try later on. I'm taking the prenatal vitamins and folic acid because I need them to try to help with the PCOS too. I also need extra folic acid because my regular vitamins that I was taking were "canceling out" a lot of the folic acid. So hopefully all of this helps and one day I'll be on here telling all of you about my baby! I have such high hopes and so much faith that one day my reproductive system will be healthy. Right now I don't ovulate, but the Ortho worked this month and I did ovulate! So at least that's one thing that is looking a bit better. I'll keep you all updated and let you know how things go with the PCOS.

September 4, 2008 UPDATE

Here's what's new with me lately... I went to my Gyno and the Fertility Specialist a few weeks ago. Got an ultrasound of my ovaries and I still have a lot of cysts on both of them. But my Gyno said that I have a few cysts that have gone away. So that's good. I also got my blood work back and found out that I'm not ovulating. The fertility specialist seems to think that I do ovulate we are just "missing" it. So they sent me home with a prescription for Clomid and all of the information to do my BBT (basal body temperature). So as of right now I'm doing BBT and charting all of my temps to see if we can "catch" when I ovulate. If I don't ovulate within the next few months, then we are going to try the Clomid. So I guess that we will see how everything goes with charting my BBT. We have our fingers crossed cause we want so badly for the BBT thing to help me see if and when I ovulate. I'll keep you all posted on how it goes. Any advice that you have for me or any info or stories similar that you'd like to share feel free to comment on my page. I'd love to here similar stories! thanks Ladies!

what's funny is that I had the exact opposite issue with my BBT - my temps were all over the place! Once again, I came across some info on fertility friend and it suggested that I switch my method of recording my temps. I was taking my temperatures orally and it suggested that I switch to either the vaginal method or rectal method. I personally didn't dig the idea of the rectal method but I did try the vaginal method and my temp recordings were so much more stable.

hey there, saw your Q in the forum about your BBT temps. fertilityfriend.com has a lot of info and tidbits about BBT charting. it just so happened that today when I was entering my BBT info, I came across this information (hope it helps): Why am I getting "flat" temperatures?

If your temperatures seem to be around the same level all the time, the culprit is usually your thermometer. Even when you are taking your temperature at the same time, following all the guidelines, there is usually some fluctuation in temperatures. Your first step is to check your thermometer's battery or get a new thermometer. If your temperatures are still flat, and/or show no sign of a biphasic (ovulatory) pattern when you would expect them to, this is something to ask your doctor about if it happens for a few cycles.

Saw your question describing your symptoms and wondering about being pregnant. It's possible. Although I never really had any period-like cramping, I did have what I thought was my period. It was really implantation bleeding. I ended up taking a digital test that came back positive. Little did I know at the time that I was only 3 weeks and some odd days pg. So, I would suggest getting just one test and trying it or waiting to see what happens in 6 days. Good luck to you!

Hi there. With those temps, if they continue to increase, then you probably O'ed on CD18. If you don't understand them yet (BBT), go to fertilityfriend.com and you can input them in and it will tell you when you have O'ed or not. Doesn't cost you unless you want the entire works, but I'm almost sure that if temps cont about the 97.5 tomorrow and so forth, CD18, being low temp is O day. You can also check your CM and put that since it is a secondary sign. Feel free to go to my vip page and click on my ticker, which will take you to what FF chart will look like after you've inputted temps. If you need any help, feel free to message me anytime and I'll get back to you. Good luck...make sure temps have been at same time in morning, but if not, FF adjusts time and temp for you, so don't worry.

two days ago mine was 97.5 then it went to 96.8 yesterday then 97.5 again today...have you been doing the Ovulation kits in addition to your charting? that's what I am going to try once my AF finally shows her face.

Jess G - Thursday, 28 August
hi! First off, Good luck in trying to get pregnant! Um...not knowing alot about your chart at this point. If it's just jumped up that temp...then you already ovulated this month(your temp rises about a day after ovulation)...so be sure next month to baby dance before day 15 and then see what day your temp jumps next month...you should, hopefully begin to see a pattern of approx what day you're ovulating. Hope I can help some. I helped get my friend pregnant doing it...as I did myself.

firstlittleangel - Thursday, 28 August
ok good deal. I will start it on my 5th day into my cycle...I am so excited!

dahreel28 - Thursday, 28 August
so okay... got my AF today. Its 2 days earlier than i thought. Supposed to arrive on the 30th. Well better luck next month. what you girls suggest? Thanks for all the encouraging thoughts and prayers to everyone. Just not my luck now.

The dip necessarily does not mean anything. Some women have a dip before they ovulate and some don't, what is important is that how many days do you have a high temperature, that is higher than the first few days of your cycle. Try using www.fertilityfriend.com it is super great it calculates everything for you. Plus to increase your chances if you think you are about to ovulate just do an OPK. I wouldn't have know I was about to ovulate or was ovulating had I not taken one and the day after it was positive I started to have my ovulation pain. So this helps too just try out and let me know how it goes. Baby dust to you

happymanda - Thursday, 28 August
I am on my fourth cycle of Clomid. I am currently on the max dose, 150mg. I find that charting really helps since you can usually see a dip in temps right before you ovulate and the rise after you do. Before you ovulate, your temps should be below 97.6ish. After you ovulate, it should be above that for at least 12-14 days.

Hi JOES-WIFE, I read your comment on the ttc board. This is my first month using bbt so I'll know in about 7 days whether I am preggo or not. How long have you been taking your bbt? My pattern this month has been temps around 36.0 / 36.15 then a dip to 35.7 on cd11, then my temp has hiked up to 36.7 / 36.8 since. I'm presuming I o'ed on cd 12 (not sure why my temps are low to start with). I think you have to view a whole cycle to see a pattern. Good luck and sending loadsa baby dust.

Sounds good to me!! I am on progesterone for the next 5 days, then 5 days into my cycle after that I will be starting clomid, when do you start?

firstlittleangel - Wednesday, 27 August
We got married on the same day last year! how funny!! I will be starting Clomid soon too, so we could do it together!

LisaJ - Wednesday, 27 August
Hiya. I'm also due to start my first round of clomid this month. AF is due anytime from Friday (as I have an average 25/26 day cycle with the odd long one thrown in every 3 months for some reason!) Anyway I will be taking 50mg on days 2-6. So it would be great to keep in touch with you as we go through this together.

jennwill3 - Wednesday, 27 August
I just did my first round of clomid in July. I did the 50mg x 5days. and due to my travel schedule I was only able to BD one day July 9th.. which should have been a little to early.. But I am now 8 weeks pregnant. I took clomid at night right before I went to bed (I heard people get very emtional on it) but I took it at night and nothing.. I think I may have had a few hot flashes.. but it was also July.. so it could have been I was just hot..lol...it did us very good.. I go to the doctor next Tuesday for my first u/s but I have had an appointment and everything is good so far.

TashaS - Tuesday, 26 August
I saw your update on the TTC forum... I haven't taken Clomid, but am hoping that the doc will decide to give it a try. DH and I have been TTC for 11 months now.... I have an appointment on Thursday. If she agrees to prescribe it, maybe we can be Clomid buddies this coming month! Good luck and lots of sticky Baby Dust to you!!

dahreel28 - Saturday, 23 August
hi there. I was also diagnosed with PCOS. Actually you won't see the fluid filled cyst until the peaked day of your ovulation. I had my u/s prior to ovulation and both ovaries looked normal. But during the peak day u/s was done, there they found that my right ovary has more than 15 pcs of less than 1.0cm fluid filled cysts. They actually come and go. that's why your hormones also fluctuates. I got pregnant last july 2007 but miscarried at 12 weeks. Now im on BBT+OPK. I use the fertilityfriend site. Though some sites differ from detecting your ovulation days. My gyne also put me on clomid last month but was unsuccessful though. so i decided to stop the meds.
