10-12-2007

Well, my name's Jude. I am 23 years old and I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with my second child. I already have a three year old daughter. My first pregnancy went really smoothly and this pregnancy is going pretty much the same way. The only difference is that first time round I put on nearly four stone. This time round, at 27 weeks, I've only put on 7 pounds. I'm still in my normal clothes, and still on my usual belt hole, which is pretty impressive, even if I say so myself! I have opted for an elective caesarean this time as first time round I had to have an emergency caesarean after only dilating from 3 to 6 centimetres in 15 hours. I was tempted to try naturally but my midwife said it probably wouldn't be any different this time as my daughter was 9 pound 4 ounces and the likelyhood of having a smaller baby this time is minimal. I'd love to hear from anyone who is having a caesarean also. x

I had another antenatel appointment today. Had to have my RH Negative injection...OUCH!...I heard the babies heartbeat again and I was measured. Apparently, i'm measuring the equivalent of someone who's 31 weeks pregnant instead of 28 so they have to keep an eye on it. Looks like I'm going to have another BIG baby! x

15.12.2007

I have been feeling lately like this baby is going to break out of my skin. When I was pregnant with my daughter I don't remember her moving half as much as this! It's the strangest but most amazing feeling ever that i've tried and tried to explain to my fiancee but it's something he'll never understand. Sometimes I go off into my own little world, watching my stomach move up, down, left and right and he looks at me as if i'm strange or something. I bought lots of new things for baby from Mothercare yesterday too. Just neutral clothes, hats and bibs. My 3 year daughter wanted to get the baby something from her so she chose a beautiful teddy bear wearing a bright scarf and the most adorable pair of slippers ever! I also bought a nappy wrapper as they are supposed to be really good when it comes to hiding nasty smells and my fiances sister bought the steriliser. We've been really lucky with regards to people helping us out. My mother is buying the travel system so the only thing left to buy is the cot and the essentials like milk and nappies etc...I love feeling prepared. x

I don't know what it is about being pregnant but I cannot shake heartburn! It's a complete and utter nightmare! I can't sleep at night for fear of my stomach catching fire! I have tried everything from Rennie to Gaviscon, cold milk to just putting up with it and nothing works!!! My back is giving me jip too. I'm not sure if it's because of the baby bump that's developing or the fact that my boobs seem to have doubled in size almost overnight! x

Well, another christmas has come and gone and I feel bigger than ever...it's either all the turkey and chocolates or the baby is going to be a another big one. I cannot get comfortable at night no matter how many times I toss and turn and it's driving my Fiance insane...bless! I've bought one of those gym balls but that isn't even helping. When I was pregnant the first time with my daughter the gym ball worked wonders but this time it seems useless! I shouldn't complain...other than backache and heartburn, I haven't really got grounds to grumble. I can't really believe that my pregnancy has flown by as quick as it has done! I thought that it would drag but it seems like days ago I had the positive result on the pregnancy test. Amazing! Only 9 weeks and a few days left until I meet the new addition to the Morgan family and I can't wait.

12-2-2008

Well, i'm now in week 36! I'm getting really nervous as well as excited. I'm not sure why but I feel physically exhausted and ready, but mentally, I can't get it through my head that i'm going to have another baby in 3 weeks time!! I've bought everything now so we're prepared in that respect. I have been having growth scans for the last month and at the 34 week scan it showed we're having another little girl, which i'm very excited about. We have chosen two names...Jaiden-Michelle or Lacey Jane. I think Jaiden-Michelle is the favourite because it's different. We like different. The growth scans have also shown that she's a big girl, weighing approximately 6lbs at 34 weeks so my next scan on Valentines day should be interesting. I wonder how much weight she'll have put on in 2 weeks.

2-3-08

I had my last growth scan and it turned out she'd put on over a pound in weight in 2 weeks! She was measured at weighing approximately 7lbs, so by the time she gets here on the 5th March I dread to think how much she'll weigh! It's a good job i'm having a c-section!! I have been getting backache and rib ache a lot more recently too. It's become unbearable so I am really looking forward to getting being pregnant over with so I can concentrate on being a mummy to my 2 girls! I am getting very nervous about having the epidural in my back...I have a thing about needles so it's just typical that standing in the way of me holding my daughter is a huge needle! haha! Oh well...a little bit of pain is a small price to pay for what i'm going to get at the end of it all!

I too am having issues w/ my fiance, I feel like he has no clue how hard this is and I am soo lonely I am home all day w/ a new born and then when he gets home we don't even speak to one another, we only get along when we are drinking and then we are still bitchin about things, I really don't have any advice because I am in ur shoes too, just wanted to let ya know ur not alone.

oohf well in that case you might be right. I dont know. I remember breaking up with a boyfriend that way... being so mean to him so that he would just end it already, but he kept hanging on. I would think in my head WHY DONT YOU HATE ME? it sounds mean but its understandable i think...

Give it time! Dontjump to conclusions we are at a very confusing time in our lives as it is and hormones are nuts. I dont know what the answer is-- if you are falling out of love or just going thru a rough patch, but my advice is dont do anything drastic with your relationship at a time like this bc you could do damage that cant be undone! im sorry. i went thru a phase like this with my husband bf my baby was born, for 5 months or so I questioned our marriage constantly and secretly thought maybe i got married too young, and looked for reasons to not be near him. I totally stopped enjoying him. then we moved cities... got new jobs... and our day to day stresses from before disappeared and all of a sudden it was like a new husband! i am SO in love with him, he is one in a million and i just stopped seein it for awhile! i was super stressed and unhappy with myself and my own life at the time and was putting those feelings on him.... stupid. how long have you been together? oh well i wish you the best :)

I'm due between the 6th and the 14th from the ultrasounds I've had but I know that I concieved on the late night of the 15th early morning of the 16th so most likely you conceived around that time. Sperm can live 3-5 days in the body so technically you could've had sex on the 11th and you didn't ovulate until the 15th-16th. You have a window of about 5 days total for ovulation so most likely you were ovulating between the 13th and the 17th. I had to figure all of this out because I had sex with my ex boyfriend on the 6th of June and my now fiance on the 16th so...it was and still is a possibility that my ex is the father but the likelihood is very small considering he didn't ejaculate in me and his precum would've had to have lived in me for 6 days. The earliest ultrasounds are most accurate and my first put my conception date at the 22nd and my second at the 16th so...You never can know forsure unless you didn't have sex within almost 2 weeks of being pregnant. I hope that helps with some confusion...Hopefully it didn't confuse you more! LOL! Good luck with the last few weeks here! It wont be much longer!

9mo - Monday, 25 Feb
It depends on your menstrual cycle. I'm due on March 6th, but I know that I conceived on June 11 - because we hadn't had sex for atleast two weeks either side of that date...it can depend on whether your period is regular on a 28 day cycle, 35 day cycle, etc.

Jude:
I am due 3/11/08 and so conceived (per WebMd calendar, very informative) on June 19, 2007. So you probably conceived 3 days earlier, on June 16, 2007.

Jude: Congrats to you and your family!!
Yea, I was hoping to have another 7 lb 14 oz baby girl (my other two babies both weighed the same, even tho' 16 years apart!). I guess I can hope I carry 'big'- it doesn't really matter tho' since it will be c section. We'll see in a couple weeks--time is going fast for me right now! Best of luck with your new little girl!! Enjoy!

charcharsuperstar - Monday, 11 Feb
Hey girl .. i feel exaclty the same thing. They hook me up twice a week to a fetal monitor.. the tummy tightening is Braxton Hicks and the period type pains below are your cervix getting ready, i guess. All very normal. I go in 2x a week bec i have G diabetes and i had an abnormal AFP test.
Good luck to you ! We're all getting ready !

You can lose your plug a little at a time. I have lost mine already two weeks ago. SO it can ahppen at all time.

butterblocksmom - Saturday, 2 Feb
Jude, yes, your plug can indeed start coming out in bits...upto 6 weeks prior to pregnancy. At the top of the page is a Forum&Info tab. Click on it and go to the tab entitled Pregnancy (it might be under the birth tab) and look up mucus plug.

I can so relate I had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago my baby girl was 5lbs 6 oz..They will check her weight again Febuary 8th..I was told if she goes over 8lbs That they will probley give me a C-Section because my other 2 children were 5lbs 7oz.& 6lbs 6oz..I had high risk pregnancys both times ands had them vaginally But this one is different again High Risk But a larger baby. But my sugars have been great, they are blaming it on Gestaional Diebetes..and I told them I was a 10 lb. baby..Plus I also heard heavier woman have bigger babies which i am heavier now than I was when I had my first child. I only so far have gained 26lbs w/this pregnancy. And I also heard the more pregnancys the bigger the babies get, so I give up guessing, just be hopeful your baby is healthy and if you have to get a C-section like me look forward to having her/him in like 45 mins to an hour and he/she will have no cone head..I guess thats the way I'm tring to look at it..But if they are making you push out a baby larger than 8lbs. I'd really talk to them about your concerns..Has this pregnancy been good or High Risk???And can your birth canal deliver a child that large ask these Questions..Good Luck....

natassia - Tuesday, 29 Jan
from my understanding... you gain 1 pound a week from now on and the baby gains 1/2 pound a week from now on

KLO - Tuesday, 29 Jan
My first was 10.4 pounds and yes they do tend to gain more at the end but something for you to remember is that when they measure the baby its not 100% it's give or take 1.5 pounds or so. Like a month ago i was measured and baby was at 4.9 and i still had two months to go. i get another one this friday as well we will see. if you are getting a c-section i wouldn't much worry you want the baby to be healthy. I sometimes wish this one is smaller because my frist came out running lol. Good luck.

Number3forme - Saturday, 5 Jan
Thanks so much!
My mom has 3 c-sections and she was like ' It is much cleaner and easier and does not last as long as vaginal labor and birth'
Thanks for the comment :)

Yea i have to roll out of the bed... i can't just stand up and pop out of bed like before... But it comes w/ the territory !! Thanks.. i am having a hard time.. i miss him to death, but i thank the lord he is alive and can write and call...And our son is still kicking and moving.. so i have to be thankful, because it could always be worse ( i don't know how much worse, but i am afraid to even ask, i just keep on praying)

Hello lovie, I recall you asking on the forum if there were any other UK Mums out there so thought I'd drop you a line. Completely get you about the watching the belly move in every direction. Yesterday, he was gently rolling around or sliding up and down it was so gentle and lovely. I got a feeling this one is going to be a peace maker like his Dad and not the 'less' of a peace maker like his Mum ha ha ha. He is so gentle in there, like a little animal snuggled up in a burrow having the odd stretch every morning and night. During the day he is less active which isn't briliant news coz let's face it, who wants a baby up all night and morning and sleeping throughout the day. I don't care what he does, I know it's going to be hard to adapt to begin with but when you love something as much as this it doesn't matter what they do. Scream for that milk son!!! Good luck and I hope your baby doesn't get too big ouuuuucccch.
