Hello, my name is Jamie. I am 21 years old and I am married, will be 3 years on July 1st. I am a mother of Fraternal Twin Boys who are 17 months, and are a lot of fun, and work. They definitely give me tons of cardio.

I do not work, I am a stay home mom and I really enjoy it. I like how you are able to meet other women who are going through the same things as me, and I am really just looking for people to talk to.

With my first pregnancy I found out at 19weeks that I was pregnant with twins, I also found out that they were boys. So, I got to go for ultra sounds every week, and it was a great experience being able to watch them grow each week. Then at 24weeks my cervix started EFACING as they called it, and it only had 1cm left to go before I started to dilate, so I got put on wonderful bedrest. It was definitely a boring time, and time went by real slow, and then I had to go back within 3 days to get checked out to see how big of a change there was, and that would determine if I was going to have to stay in the hospital. Luckily they let me do my bedrest at home, and I was told I would never make it to 28weeks, then I made it, and then I was told I would never make it to 32, and then I was told again I would never make it full term for twins which is 38weeks. Well glad to say I MADE it to 38 weeks, and I had them naturally with the epidural of course since they were head down the whole time, so I gave birth to two healthy 6 pounds 3 ounce boys. They were walking by 9months and climbing as well so they have learned to get into everything, I am learning that being pregnant with 17 month old boys is a lot work and very exhausting. I will find out on May 23rd with my first ultra sound if I am having more then one baby again. Very Excited!!

April 11, 2008

Well, I got off birth control on the 9 of March, and that was when I was supposed to start my sugar pills while I was on my period kinda thing for my birth control, so I didn't even bother with those, and I got my period on the 11th of March right on time, and on the 15 I was all done so my husband and I started to try and have a baby again!! I was told and had read up on stopping birth control, and they had said it could take any where from 3-6 months just to get your cycle back on track and ovulation going again, so I figured I would give myself a few months for my body to do that, that way I could get pregnant in the summer and have a summer baby or a fall baby or whatever, well God had other plans for me, and I got pregnant a few weeks after my period and I am now due on December 17, 2008 with just one baby this time! I have twin boys who are 18 months old and were born December 1, 2006. So if December isn't already an expensive month with Christmas and what not, it is with 3 birthdays in it!

May 28, 2008

Well, had my first ultra sound today and found out its only one baby they could see which means no twins for me again this time!! Then this time I may think its a breeze compared to with my boys lol. Posted some ultra sound pictures as well, I am very excited, at first disappointed a little bit, but that is okay!! I am not disappointed anymore, that just means I can get pregnant again lol!!

July 8, 2008

Well had another prenatal appointment today sorry I never posted my last one, but everything was fine on that one and they did not hear the heart beat due to I was still in the stage of where it would be hard too!!

But today I had my prenatal and everything is looking good and the heart beat was 136=)

July 22, 2008

Today was my prenatal appointment and looks like everything is looking good I am 19 weeks and we heard the heart beat which was 128 today. August 12th I find out if its a boy or girl so I am getting antsy for August to come.

August 12, 2008

Well had my 22 week ultra sound today and we were able to find out the gender of our baby!!

Was kind of a shock because I had it in my head that I was expecting a boy, but nope its a baby GIRL!!

I was told today that they won't be putting me on bedrest unless I go into labor or something. They will eventually modify my activity but as of now I am going to be doing the same stuff. As of right now everything is looking good and they don't even know if I will have to be modified at all. So I guess that's good news!

katiemac - Thursday, 12 June
it's a cool date if you ask me! we have plenty of time to rest up until the holidays if all goes well!

rahomsw - Thursday, 12 June
Thanks!! I sure hope I can make it at least to 36 weeks!!! I'd love to be able to bring the babies home with me, as my son was in the NICU for 4 1/2 weeks when he was born. Good luck and thanks for responding!

jazzyblack29 - Thursday, 12 June
 Nice pictures!!!!

jazzyblack29 - Thursday, 12 June
Great! I'm already getting really big, I don't think I will be able to make it to 38 weeks. I would love that because I want my babies to healthy and big!

sailorsbabybump - Thursday, 12 June
Yeah he is gone a lot. The hardest part, I think, will be going on bedrest with no one here. I don't live anywhere near either of our families. My mom is going to come out if I do go on bedrest, but I'm crossing my fingers it doesn't happen. Did you do bedrest at home or in the hospital?

pamallhoney - Thursday, 12 June
Very smart about the potty training. Currently I have 4 in diapers. Our 3 year old just hasn't gotten the hang of it. Our goal for her is the end of the summer. Our two year old I hope will watch what we are doing with her and be interested. My mom trained the older two when I happened to be away on vacation. She's really good at training. Even my cousins bring their kids up to her. I think she wants me to be able to do it myself...I wish she'd just do it. Who cares if potty training is something I never get the knack of. You'll have to let me know how it goes with your boys. I didn't even notice you are from Canada. I live in Canada now, but was born and raised in the States. My husband and now most of my children are Canadian. I love Canada. My husband is taking parental leave with the twins. I would be so stressed if he wasn't here. What a nice option to have.
Well have a wonderful day and I'll talk to you soon.

jazzyblack29 - Thursday, 12 June
I just read your bio! I know I'm having one boy for sure, the other one was hiding. They are fraternal twins as well. I pray that I can carry mine full term because I want them to be healthy little darling. I truly think I am having two boys as well. I will know on the 17th of this month.

jazzyblack29 - Thursday, 12 June
I have so many questions? did you deliver early? C-Section? Fraternal or Identical? I'm so excited!!!

sethina2 - Thursday, 12 June
HI Jamie thankyou so much for messaging me, i was beginning to think no one was on this site. Quick question for you Did you sleep the boys together in the same cot when they were born? People have been telling me to do this. I'm not quite sure though, need some real advice.

sailorsbabybump - Thursday, 12 June
My husband is in the Navy. He works on subs which has him gone up to 4+ months every few months. Like this year we had 3 on, 3 off, 4 on. But When he gets back he should be working in an office for a while. SO he MIGHT have good hours. On the plus side he should be home for almost a year straight and then we go on shore duty so he will be on land for 3 years! YAY! It's getting harder to do things now and it sucks that he is gone because they just don't get done. I guess I will leave them for him! lol

sailorsbabybump - Thursday, 12 June
Awww that's sweet of him. I'm hoping I can keep them in until he gets home! If not they had better sew me up!!

pamallhoney - Thursday, 12 June
Your twins boys are so cute!!! Do they have fun together? I can't wait to see ours grow up together. They also have a brother just two years older than them. And congrats for carrying your to 38 weeks. That's awesome. Also congrats on your newest baby. Did you end up finding out the sex of this baby? I'm gonna add you as a friend.

sailorsbabybump - Thursday, 12 June
The after part is what I am really nervous about. That pain worries me more than the actual labor. I mean the birth lasts a couple of hours (hopefully) but the pain from it lasts for DAYS or WEEKS! I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run. So just one this second go around? Congrats!

sailorsbabybump - Thursday, 12 June
Not yet! I've watched a few live births (my sister and a friend) so I know what to expect. Well except that two come out instead of one. lol But i have a feeling I will end up with a C-section because I am pretty small. But we will have to see. How did yours go?

sailorsbabybump - Thursday, 12 June
Yeah I've had two so far. I will get a lot more now to track them a little better.

sailorsbabybump - Thursday, 12 June
WOW! I found out at 11 weeks (one day before my birthday!). When did you go on bedrest?

sailorsbabybump - Thursday, 12 June
No bedrest YET. but I can feel it coming. I am starting to have trouble staying upright for any length of time and I am just SO tired. I go see the high risk OB tomorrow. Hopefully they tell me how much longer I have until I have to go on it. NOT looking forward to it as my husband is out to sea for another 2 months or so.

sailorsbabybump - Thursday, 12 June
Great to hear from someone who has been through this! Your kids are cute!!!

sparklyval - Tuesday, 10 June
Hello! I can't believe it has taken me a whole week to write back to you! I just don't know where the time has gone to. I did have a busier weekend than normal as I was working all day on Sunday and on Saturday I was helping with the school fair....on the cake stall!! It was good fun, but not the healthiest place to be for a pregnant lady. I managed to resist eating all of the cakes (I said ALL)! I did have to sample some. No wonder I have gained so much weight in the last week!!

It sounds as though you and your husband have a very strong relationship, which is what you need when you have young children! It's funny that you got married the day after your 18th birthday. I got married on my 21st birthday. My mum was hassling me to have a big birthday party and I really didn't want to, so we picked that date to get married on instead. It didn't go down too well!! In fact my family weren't too keen on me getting married 'young' and would have preferred us to wait a bit. Anyway, here we are still going strong 16 years later. I think you just know that you have met the right person whatever age you are. What date is your 21st birthday? Are you planning to do anything exciting to celebrate? The only down side of having an anniversary on the same day as my birthday is that I only get one special day a year. BUT the up side is that Antony has no excuse to forget either!!

Your husband comes from a BIG family! 10!! You must have a lot of relatives. I bet that gets expensive at Christmas! Especially with your children having birthdays in December! Did you say that your brother was 6? And he is the only one apart from you? You must have been 15 when he was born? My youngest brother is 23 and I was 14 when he was born. I wasn't very impressed at the time about having a baby in the house!! I guess it was something to do with being a teenager.... We aren't really very close even now, not like I am with my older two brothers. How do you get on with your little brother?

SO, how is the sleeping in big boys beds going? And have you started potty training? Are you going to leave it for a bit?

Its really good that your husband has an 8-5 job. It is great that he gets to spend a lot of time with the children. I am the same - Antony works 9-5 and no weekends so we have plenty of good family time. It makes all the difference. I bet he loves coming home to his boys waiting at the door!

How has your week been? The weather has been really warm/hot and sunny here, so I have been trying to make the most of it! Sadly in the UK we don't see the sun as much as we would like! No doubt next time I write to you it will be pouring with rain! Take care, Valerie x

Hey Jamie,

My boys arn't identical!! which is lucky for me because I would probably get them confused all the time!! Hehehe One has dark hair and the other is looking quite ginger at the moment, but could turn blonde!!
Must feel so different for you this time carrying just the one?? I had wicked morning sickness with these two and I always said it must be soooo much easier carrying one is it true :) !!!!!! We are going to try for another baby in about 2 years as Im finding these two a real handful as the moment!!! It must be really exciting when they start to walk and climb sounds like a good fitness programme to me!!
Hope your looking after your self and look foward to hearing from you
P.S Your boys are gorgeous :)
Take care Shazz xxxx
PPS I had my boys naturally as well with an Epidural!! Must be quite rare as eveyone asumes I had a c-section!!! hehehe

sparklyval - Tuesday, 3 June
Hi! I can't get over the fact that you are only 20 and soon to have 3 kids. You sound like such a great, patient mum from your messages. I am sure that I would have been totally useless as a mum at the age of 20. In fact I didn't get married until I was 21 and even then we delayed having children for quite a lot of years. In many ways now I wish that we had started a family a bit sooner as we are going to be quite old by the time we get to be grandparents! My husband's mum and dad were only 16 and 18 when he was born, and we get on so well because there isn't much of an age gap. They are young grandparents too which is lovely for our children. Anyway, you can't change the past - and I am SO enjoying having my family now! I guess I just didn't realise what I was missing out on 15 years ago!!

I hope your boys are not tiring you out too much. It must be hard work having two little ones and being pregnant. I hope that they are getting used to sleeping in their big beds? It seems a long time ago since Kate started sleeping in a bed. I think she had started to climb out of her cot so it was safer!! She was very excited about the new sleeping arrangement and thank goodness didn't keep getting in and out of bed!

I had a good weekend thank you. I seem to have gone in to some kind of strange 'oh my God, look how untidy my house is' mode so spent a lot of Saturday sorting out things, cleaning and generally tidying. I am going to stick with it while I have the energy! On Sunday we took our girls on a farm visit. It was part of something called 'Open Farm Sunday'. Our visit included a 45 minute tractor and trailer ride, betting on racing pigs and hunting for bugs in the fields!! The girls had a great time, and best of all they had a fantastic cafe/restaurant!

What does your husband do? Does he have the kind of job that gives him plenty of time with you and the children? Is he excited about having his 3rd baby?

Anyway, hope you are ok. Speak to you soon, Valerie

sheena80 - Tuesday, 3 June
Hi , I had an appt today with my consultant and because the notes were not clear as to whether my twins were identical or not the doc chose to do a scan to see for herself, she told me that I definatelt had one girl and she thinks the second may be a girl aswell but is not 100%, needs to be confirmed at my 20 week which seems like ages away
