About Me
my name is Jessica. I'm married to my best friend aka the best man in the entire universe! We've been married for 2 1/2 years. It took us some time to get this baby, so that makes even more special. we went through 3 early miscarriages in a year, to find out that ALL I needed to have a baby is PROGESTERONE. I truly believe that prayer and progesterone is the only thing that has got us this far!
*****My Pregnancy Story*****
In January 2006 my husband and I decided to try for a baby. I got pregnant for the first time in just a month! I miscarried at 5 weeks exactly! My doctor said that this is common and to just try again. I didn't get pregnant until Oct 2006, when again I miscarried at 5 weeks exactly! I took this one the worst! I felt so alone. My doctor then did a few tests and they all came back that I was perfectly normal. My husband and I decided not to "try" right away. We wanted time to heal, and the holidays were coming up, so we just put ourselves around are family and friends. In Jan 2007 we went to Vegas to celebrate my 21st birthday. (Of course we weren't trying to get pregnant at this time, we were going to wait till' we got back) but we got pregnant in Jan and had a miscarriage again at 5 weeks. My ob/gyn still didn't want to refer me to an infertility specialist. So I got the referral from my primary care doctor. We had our first appointment in March 2007, and my husband and I both went through all these tests and it they all came back normal, but he did have some concern with what one test revealed. It looked as though my left tube was blocked and it COULD be from endometriosis or it could be from the dye that's used on the test. So the plan was to get me pregnant and if that wasn't successful in 3 months I was to have surgery to remove the endometriosis. So I was on all these shots and pills and I couldn't get pregnant. During this time I asked like every appointment if I should be on progesterone, and he kept telling me no, not until I got pregnant... then at one appointment I saw the nurse practitioner and asked her about the progesterone. and she gave me a prescription for it but told me NOT to fill it until I got pregnant.(I still don't understand why she even wrote it out) 3 months passed and I scheduled my surgery for sept 26th 2007 with my ob/gyn. I filled the progesterone prescription and started taking it in aug. my plan was to take it days 14-28 of my cycle unless I got pregnant and then I’d continue until week 12 of pregnancy. I got pregnant that month and haven't had any problems! So basically I trusted my gut feeling and it turned out that I was right! Oh and a little strange fact my egg came from my left side, meaning there wasn't a blockage all along and I would've had the surgery for no reason what so ever!

HI there,Firstly, I hope you're doing well.
I was wondering what the name of the progesteone was that you took? I HAVE A POSITIVE!!!!!! I got a blood test yesturday and we get the results back on monday morn'. I want to 'bully' my Dr. to give me progestone what ever the results as I've lost so many, in between 5 wks to 17 1/2 weeks ( although the two at 17 1/2 and 16 1/2 wks WEREN'T due to progesterone) so 9 of the losses were. We don't know why my levels suddenly dive. So I figure, there can't be any harm in taking it just to be sure. Anyway, I want to be armed with as much infomation as possilbe of different brands etc. Can you give me the nname of the brand you used? Thanks Vikki

I have a question for you.. if you don't mind. Are you taking the prometrium orally or vaginally? because I have had 2 miscarriages now and the last one was at 11 weeks.. but at 5 weeks they tested my progesterone and it was low so they prescribed me the prometrium vaginally..after I miscarried 6 weeks later they ran all the tests and didnt find anything wrong and just told me I would probably have better luck next time. but, just like you I had a feeling and talked to my doctor about taking prometrium before I get pregnant next time and she spoke with a specialist and then decided it was a good idea to take on day 14 until I get my period or when I get pregnant through my first trimester.. but, this time it is taken orally... so I am just curious if that is the way you were prescribed to take it also? Your story has really made me feel good about my decision to ask my doctor about the prometrium and take it earlier this time so thankyou..

Your story is inspiring to me, as I have lost 11 babies. Turns out most of the time it was a low progesterone problem and to find out that if I could have just got supplimented early in the piece, is well, conflicting feelings. One, it's distressing that I didn't have to loose so many, BUT VERY HOPEFUL for any pregnancy I may subsequently have! Most of the babies lost, in ultra sounds, were fine to start with. It was ONLY the Prog' that was the problem. WOW! I can't wait to find out if we're to be blessed again and if we are, I'll be marching straight down to my Doc' to get a script. I'll be a pain in the but untill I'm given one! :-) By the way, you two look very cute together. Isn't it great that we've been lucky in being able to have our best freinds for husbands! So, I also have a question, how can they tell which side your egg is produced from? It's interesting the different things that are available to ladies in different parts of the world. I've heard of a lot of ppl having that. The thing during sex your cervics can get irritated which will cause it to bleed a little. It won't harm your baby. Just keep an I on it. As long as you don't get bad cramps and start bleeding heavily you should be ok.

i have read that if you get the leg cramps at night... then you should sleep on your left side.. lying on your left side gives the best circulation. that is supposed to help keep you from getting the leg cramps. Worth a shot huh?

i hear ya! i have been feeling yucky for the past few weeks.. feel like i keep getting back to back colds. very frustrating.. i had an appointment on wed.. everything went well.. baby's hr was 160. The doctor said she is thinking that the baby is a girl... but find out for sure on february 4th... CANT WAIT... i'm still hoping for pink but we shall see... i had to go back to the doc today because i fell down the stairs outside my apartment yesterday.. baby is doing fine but mommy is hurting! I fell on my back and twisted my right knee and ankle.. hangin in there though.. happy birthday by the way! sorry you aren't feeling well! I am not sure if i have felt movement yet or not.. i think so but its not really consistent so i'm not sure. how far were you when you started to notice the movement?

oh also! the doctor wants to have another big U/S at the next appt, since Aura is such a tiny little baby he just wants to measure her again...he said so far everything looks great she just is a cute petite baby! Thank god, but I am okay with a small baby and not a huge one haha!

as to the baby shower most people wait till almost the end of pregnancy i hate that!
personally i like to be prepared so waiting till the end to see what people get you is hard because you then have to hurry to get everything you need so i say since you know the sex of your baby the sooner the better that way you still have a few months to get everything else you need (:
