16.7 hours ago So this morning was crazy... 58. What the heck is up with that. I called my OB emergency line. I was worried that crashing that low would hurt the baby. The OB said the only time they worry about the baby is if Mom's numbers get too high. He said not to worry, but if this becomes a trend I might have to wake up at midnight and have a snack. I don't eat very much at night because I get indigestion. I'll do whatever the doctor says. =)Yesterday my number were fine 95 (yuck), 105, 93, 86. What is my crazy body doing? Maybe the cinnamon tea balanced it all out again. I go to the OB on Wednesday, so I'll be able to talk to him again about my numbers. How are you doing? ariadnalun -
32.2 hours ago Hi Girl!
How are you today? I read one of your posts yesterday about getting sick...are you feeling better? how about your sugar numbers?
I didn't go to work today because I had 2 dr. appointments...everything seems fine...I told my OB about the palpitations and he said that as long as they don't do for hours and hours, or make me dizzy, shortness of breath or chest pain I should be fine...he said it's a normal complain in pregnancy...he did order an EKG just to be on the safe side (this is what I didn't want).....so after debating whether to do it or not, I decided to go (was really nervous) and they wanted to charge me $109.00 for it!! I said WHAT??!! something about the deductible in my insurance...I didn't have it done and left crying because I was so frustrated...I think it's better that i didn't do it, I'm just going to believe I'm fine plus the doctor didn't really seem concerned...they just like to order and order tests to cover themselves just in case....
Then I had an U/S and they confirmed again that she's a girl and that she doesn't have the cysts in her brain anymore!!! yay!!!! they measured the amniotic fluid (I thought of you) and said that everything looks good! her head is down and her weight is 2 pounds and 1ounces....I feel goog today...other than my little cry spell I've had very little anxiety.....this weekend I have a few family reunions which make me a little nervous, but hopefully I'll be Ok, we'll see how it goes!
Have a wonderful day! blee71377 -
38.3 hours ago How did it go this morning? Mine was a little higher then usual. 95. Ahhhh! I was hoping I wouldn't have any trouble with the extra hormones, but I guess there's no escaping it. My husband told me not to obsess over it, it is just one elevated number. But I want to be perfect! =) We'll see how it goes tomorrow morning. I will drink 3 cups of cinnamon tea today. Hopefully that will help out. I don't like cinnamon tea either, but I have seen it work. I just drink it as quick as possible. I wonder why your doctor wants you to test after 1 hour? I will ask my doctor when I go on Wednesday. I'm just curious. I have been super tired this last week. I think my little man is having a growning spurt. I have to lean back as much as possible to give him room. I didn't think I would have any trouble because I have a longer torso, but I guess he's running out of room already. It's all worth it! I don't mind having to be so conscience about eating and taking blood and feeling achy. As long as my little man comes out healthy. =)I had a perfect plan in mind, but I know things don't usually come out the way you plan them. I hope my birthing plan turns out the way I want it too. My Mom giggled when I told her what I wanted. She said, don't be surprised if you throw it all out the window in the delivery room. I told her, that's fine... but this is my ideal way to have my baby. We'll see what happens. Sorry to ramble on so much. I love to talk. =) Let me know how you did this morning. By the way, my name is Brenda Henry and I'm on Facebook too. I have a GD friend I met here and we became friends on facebook too. Talk to you later! =) Naaster -
Thursday, 19 November Today my numbers couldn't be better, not sure why, but I think it's because I really didn't hit my limit on my carbs, and proteined up my meals. I had lite ice cream for my snack tonight, and it's 28 grams for a perfect snack! I think I'm going to be able to do it. Only problem I've had today is 2+ pitting edema to my lower legs, but I'll probably clear out all my fluids while I'm sleeping and be up and down all night, lol! vickieb -

cute, sexy mama!! :-) love the dress. Naaster -
Thursday, 19 November My fastings have been in the upper 70's and 80's. My highs haven't been higher then 155, but anywhere between that and 125. Since I failed one of the glucose screening hours by 2 points, I figure anything above 120 is going to count to my doc, lol. I admit I haven't lowered my carb limits on my snacks but only because I don't test after those! So I still eat 30 carb snacks if I wanna! My snack has never seemed to be a factor in my 2hour after meals test. Like I had a fruit and yogurt parfait from McDonalds and felt like I was really cheating today, but my b/f and I both checked and it was snack approved! blee71377 -
Thursday, 19 November GD is a very weird science experiment. What works for me might not work for you. My fasting numbers are fine. It was very low this morning (63), but mine stay below 90 consistently. Here's what I do... I eat my dinner early around 5 or 6. I test 2 hours later and relax the rest of the evening. It's rare that I'm still hungry, but if I am I'll snack on carrot sticks. Right before I go to bed I will drink a 5 oz. glass of milk. It's got protein and carbs all rolled into one (I drink a lot of milk). In the morning I test as soon as I wake up. That's my routine. I have found a lot of help in Cinnamon tea. I'm not much of an herbal tea drinker, but a friend of mine with GD suggested it and it's been great! I have 2 cups a day and it makes it effortless to keep my numbers low-normal. I usually drink a cup with my breakfast and one before dinner. There's something about cinnamon and helping the body to process sugar better. I don't know exactly what it is, but it works. =) I checked with my doctor first and she said to go for it. Make sure you are drinking tons of water too. I drink almost a gallon a day. I eat protein every meal as well as some carbs and veggies. I do eat fruit, but I do it before a meal. I have to stay away form red grapes.... I love them sooo much. I'll sit there and eat a whole bag of them. Not good for anyone's sugar level. I crave them more then I do chocolate or other sweets. It's pretty sad. As soon as my baby is born I will stick to this diet. The only thing I will do differently is I will add more fruit and healthy juices to my diet. I have had a hard time keeping weight on. Something I have never had a problem with in the past. I'll keep this up so I can recover faster and be able to keep up with a growing baby. Do you test 1 or 2 hours after each meal? I've heard both ways. I have to do it 2 hours after. I love your profile picture. I was thinking to myself... it will be nice to be able to crouch down like that again. If I do it now I'll just fall over. =) I've heard this is the hardest point in the pregnancy to keep your numbers normal. Due to increasing hormones being produced. BUT I've also heard that around 35 weeks your numbers drop a lot. I guess we'll see how we both do. =) Anyway... I better get started on dinner. I think we will have a grilled turkey and cheese sandwich (sara lee 45 and delightful is 18 carbs for 2 slices andhas 5 g protein)and a glass of milk. I had a big lunch. Talk to you soon! =) Naaster -
Thursday, 19 November I'm lowering some of my carb limits due to the higher readings. I've cut a serving from each of my meals and my numbers have improved! I also started physical therapy today and I think it might help, at least keep me active in the pool on the days I go, and maybe make it tolerable to work on the days I don't go. I find moving around helps a lot. I wouldn't blame your diet for your fasting numbers, blame the placenta, lol! Maybe your just having an increase in hormones. My dietitian told me I could do everything right and still not get good readings. I'm figuring if I can't keep my numbers good by keeping my carbs down I'll be put on either pills or insulin, but my appointment isn't until Wednesday, so I have some time to work it out I hope! I find I'm eating more, but I have lost a few pounds so far, and I was still under my prepreg weight already! jeffswife -

Thursday, 19 November I know, I love target for clothes, it's so cheap! nice dress...I hadn't gaines too much weight since the beginning of my pregnancy, I think in part because of the anxiety...but now, I seem to be more hungry than usual and I noticed I gained weight this week...all I crave is carbs!! I don't eat any meat, only fish, and I only eat fish because I know I need some animal protein, otherwise I would be completely vegetarian(I was for about 7 years)...so the carbs don't help, but they say they make you feel good (I think this is true)...do you have to keep the same diet once the baby is born? ariadnalun -
Thursday, 19 November
you look so so cute and so different with your hair down! your body is handling pregnancy very well, you still look skinny! By the way, was this picture taken at target? those dressing rooms look familiar.... -sarina- -

Thursday, 19 November Hey there! I saw that you were diagnosed with GD. Me too! It's so nice to be able to talk to other women going through this. How are you doing? Are you on meds. or insulin? I was diagnosed at week 14. I have kept it under control with diet and exercise. I have lost weight and am struggling to gain a few pounds before the baby is born. I will stick to this diet after the baby is born too. It's just a super healthy way to eat. I'll probably add more fruit and healthy juices to my diet, but that's it. Let me know how you have been doing. I love learning from others experiences. =) blee71377 -
