About me....
I am
expecting my first baby at the beginning of September, and my husband
and I are so excited! My second trimester isn't looking any different than my first yet. I'm still dealing with morning sickness nearly every day. My doctor says that should stop over the next couple of weeks, and I can't wait! I get to find out if it's a boy or a girl at the beginning of April. Yay!

Morning sickness finally seems to be weakening! I had a really bad day on Sunday, but this week hasn't been too bad. Tuesday I had a little fight with it, but was still able to go into work. I took half the day off work yesterday because it was pretty bad, but I felt much better later in the day. This morning I haven't felt sick at all (yay!), but woke up absolutely starving and was still hungry even after a bowl of cereal AND a bagel! I've been having weird dreams lately, but last night's take the cake so far. One dream was about a snow-ball fight between a huge group of people, but we couldn't use the snow so instead we used silly string. Another (which was probably trying to tell me something) involved large amounts of mashed potatoes and gravy. That's when I woke up really really hungry.
My back has been hurting pretty badly the last several weeks, too. But even that seems to be getting a little better. I know it's no where near being over, but at least I was able to sit up without a whole lot of pain. My belly's starting to expand, too! Yay! I still just look like I've put on a couple of pounds, but I know what it really is. :) My husband, the sweetie that he is, says he can't tell that I've gained anything, but I just tell him he can't tell because he can't feel how my clothes are fitting. I've had to wear skirts all week because my slacks just don't feel comfortable anymore. I can still wear them, but they're just not comfortable. I haven't been able to wear my jeans comfortably for a couple of weeks - the tops just cut into me too much when I sit down.
I had to tell my boss yesterday. I didn't want to tell him until after my husband and I had told our parents, but with how much work I've missed over the last two months due to horrible morning/afternoon/evening sickness, I felt that I owed him an explanation. I asked him to please not tell anyone else in the office, though, because I'd really like my parents and in-laws to be the next to find out. I'm so excited to tell people!

Yay! I am officially in my second trimester! I celebrated it this morning by throwing up my breakfast....wait...that's supposed to be over by now, isn't it? I think it's just because my tummy doesn't like bananas or milk right now - the two items I have consistently thrown up. I have been feeling tons better, though. I've had an awful cold since Thursday, but it's on its way out, and so's the morning sickness. :)
We still haven't told our families yet (and it's been pretty easy to hide since they all live about 700 miles away), but we're all prepped and ready to go with our big surprise. I took a copy of the first ultrasound picture (taken at 7 weeks) and put some fun graphics around it with a big "Congratulations, Grandma and Grandpa!!!" at the top then cut it into a puzzle. We're going to mail it to them next week. I'm so excited! My husband, the prankster that he is, decided that since we're telling them earlier than he wanted to (I can't believe he wanted to wait until I was 4 1/2 months!), we're mailing the puzzles to our parents two days before we leave on an 8-night cruise to Mexico! So not only will we have we waited till I was over 3 months pregnant to tell them, they then have to wait another week to talk to us about it. He's so mean, but I have to let him have his fun with this pregnancy somehow. He thinks it will only make them more excited. Plus, he didn't let me put the due date on the puzzle, so they'll really be in suspense.
I have just been dying to tell people, though, and I'm glad we're telling them soon because I'm starting to show. I'm not showing a whole lot, but I definitely look like I've gained some weight - and I can tell, but my hubby says it's not noticable. Oh well, hopefully I'll pop soon. :)

Okay, quick update: I went to the doctor yesterday, and I've dropped another two pounds! So that makes 3 total pounds that I've lost in the last two months. I thought I was supposed to be gaining weight. My doctor didn't seem concerned about it, though, so it's probably no big deal. I'm sure I'll start gaining soon enough. We heard the heart beat again - that's so much fun! We also set the date for my next appointment AND the ultrasound to find out if it's a boy or a girl! I'm so excited! And I only have to wait for four weeks. Luckily, one of those weeks will be spent with my wonderful hubby on a cruise to Mexico. I hope I stop throwing up before then. (I've had another really bad morning sickness morning - I threw up twice at home and twice on the way to work. It sucks big time.)
Anywho, back to work. (Ugh...)

My hubby and I went on a cruise to Mexico last week. It was soooooo much fun! We kept telling everyone (who assumed we were on our honeymoon) that we were on our baby-moon. We knew that if we didn't get away during spring break, it wasn't going to happen this year because my hubby takes the bar exam in July, and the baby's due early in September. So it was great to get away.
I've been feeling so much better the last couple of weeks. I think I'm finally shaking the morning sickness! I got a little sick this morning, but I think it's partially my body just adjusting back to my work schedule from my vacation schedule.
I also think I've felt the baby move a few times - the most recent just a couple of minutes ago! Yay! I'm starting to get my bump, and that makes my hubby happy because now the pregnancy is starting to feel real to him.
We told our parents last week, and they couldn't be more excited. My parents, I think, are especially excited as this is their first grandchild. It'll be hard being in a different state from both sets of parents, but we'll cope - and make plenty of visits to grandma's house!
That's all for now. :D I'm feeling so excited, though!
April 11, 2008IT'S A GIRL!!!! We're so excited. :)
