Hey, my name is Jax and I live in Melbourne, Australia. My husband and I have been married since august but have been together for nearly ten years. This is my first pregnancy, and I am thrilled with how it is progressing. A lot of people had a lot of doubt about whether or not I could carry full term after being a badly controlled insulin dependent diabetic for waaaay too long. Seems I have proved them all wrong and have harnessed my diabetes control better than I ever have in order to be able to meet my son :)

My due date is two weeks behind the date I will probably deliver (due to the diabetes) so I think I will end up having him at 38 weeks, which is going to be around the 7th to 14th of January. I can't wait to meet him...

I'm having lots of protein tests at the moment (diabetes thing) so I have been having to pee in a bottle every week for 24 hours since about 3 weeks ago :( Makes it hard to leave the house on those days lol...It's amazing what we will put up with to see our babies born healthy :)

Wednesday, 2 Jan

So it's official! My son is going to be induced on the 10th of January (next week!) if he can wait that long. I have a bet with my mother in law, who thinks he is going to come before that date :) Either way, I will be able to meet him by next weekend. I am both petrified and excited. I feel like a diabetic pregnancy success story. As long as all goes well between now and then, I guess I will be :)

Wednesday, 9 Jan

Tomorrow is my big day...I am very very nervous, but women have been doing this since the dawn of time, so I guess my body will know what to do. I can `t wait to meet my son. I `m hoping for a vaginal birth, as the idea of a c-section is terrifying. If all goes well, I should be posting photo `s very soon :)

I've heard the same thing...unfortunatly, all I can find is 'artificially flavored'...thats the USA for you. However, my midwife reccommended 'Evening Primose OIl' supplements. I'm trying that to see. The have lots of sexmethod didnt work...)=

Thanks for the message! I've tried everything. The raspberry tea is supposed to help the cervix to thin (so I heard) and mine is completely thinned so we've had some sex and still NOTHING! At least I know she'll be here on the 15th b/c I'm being induced.

thanks for that im still so scared ive seen my consultant today my levels are about 11.5 at the min they said there going to hook me on to a glucose drip and a insuline and try to balance the sugars out whilst in labour . i will let you know how the delivery goes , i hope yours goes ok . good luck and thanks alot for the support . ake care xxxxxxxxxxx
