This is my second pregnancy and hoping that this one turns out better than the last one. I had a miscarriage in Jan. 07 with twins after almost 2 years of TTC. My doc couldn't find a heartbeat at 12wks so had an u/s and that is when we found out it was twins but neither had a heartbeat. We were devastated! I had a d & c. After only 2 months of trying this time we were successful. This time I was on Letrozol and not clomid like the last time. I am currently 13 weeks and we have heard the heartbeat 2x at doc's office. Although we are super excited, it is also difficult because we are still cautious and desperately hoping everything turns out well. It is so weird that once you have had a miscarriage you will never have a typical pregnancy in your own mind and no matter how much your friends (who haven't had a miscarriage) try to comfort you or understand they will never know what it is like.

Tuesday, 25 Mar Hi, My baby is on Zantac and it took about 4 or 5 days to really see results. It also depends on how bad the baby's reflux is. If it is really bad it may take a little longer because the throat can be burned by so much acid and it takes a little while to heal. :-( NumberFive -

Tuesday, 18 Mar I know that if I take the bottle away from my son to burp him and he's not done, he gets mad! LOL So I just let him finish and then I burp him. I don't burp him as much when I breastfeed as he doesn't get as much air, but I still try. I went to pick him up after putting my boob back in and he let out a GOOD one! I was like YEA! LOL sandy127962 -
Monday, 17 Mar Read your post on bottles and sterilizing. My peds doc said at 6 months I could stop Dana is nearly 7 months now and I don't do it anymore but I do use the dishwasher so they get washed in really hot water. lindyloo -
Tuesday, 11 Mar Ally didn't like her bed either, thats why I was putting her in her swing. To make it nicer I put a really nice soft fluffy blanket down, I know your not supposed to but it works. The beds at sleep clinic were elevated with a foam thing it was shaped kinda like a triangle on it's side. sam m -
Tuesday, 11 Mar Hiya I saw your posting about routines and thought I would get in touch with you! I am the same as you, my little boy feeds every 4 hours or so but it can vary sometimes, which means that the feed before bedtime is not always the same and like you its been hard getting a routine. what we have started to do, and it worked yesterday and last night, is get the routine going so he feeds at 7pm, goes to bed at 8pm, we wake him up for a feed at 11pm, and then he sleeps all night and gets up at 7am! Its a pain having to wake him for that 11pm feed but its good cause it does mean no night feeding. It is hard and you will find a way that suits you. Good luck! lindyloo -
Tuesday, 11 Mar also after the feed it's then play time. ( I forgot to add it to my last post). lindyloo -
Tuesday, 11 Mar Hey there, I read your post, I have a 9 week old and we recently had a day at sleep clinic. The advice that I was given was not to let bub sleep in the swing or bouncy chair but to put her in her bed. We were also told that when she wakes to feed her straight away and don't let her stay up for more than an hour and a half from the beginning of the fed. They also told us not to pick her up to settle her unless she is going completely crazy!!!! but just to pat her, stroke her hair, roll her, etc while she's in her bed. It's hard work but patience and persistence pay off!! It's worked for us. I hope this helps a little with your little man!! karenc -
Tuesday, 11 Mar i'm trying to get my son into bed by 8:00-8:30 in the evenings, but it's always a challenge b/c the baby doesn't care what time it is, lol. the bedtime routine we're following is to schedule the 'last' bf for around 45 mins before bed, even if it's earlier than scheduled. we turn off the lights except for one nightlight and no talking as we feed. after he's done, rock a while longer til he's drowsy, then swaddle and into the bassinet. works pretty well. that said, he pooped as soon as his butt hit the mattress tonight and then my husband took him to change the diaper and talked and sang to him the whole time - lol!! so, i'm trying to rock him to drowsy again now, but am so glad to have been able to pass off the dirty diaper - thank you hubby! ashley. -

Wednesday, 5 Mar my baby only poops once every 4-5 day but he is breastfed and that can be normal for BF babies. Not sure about Soy... best to ask your doctor or midwife. chasityrb26 -
Tuesday, 26 Feb I was just browsing around and came across your site and thought maybe I could offer alittle advise...about the lower intestinal gas, Im sure you've heard of mylocan gas drops..Id start with those..my pediatrician considers them a 'fancy water substitute' and doesnt suggest they work..but I think they do!..They're also not considered medicine, just a buffer, and can be givin as much as 12 times a day..Id recommend giving them directly in the mouth, not in the bottle..also I like to roll up a towel, probably a kitchen towel depending on how big your bambino is, and lying him across it on his belly, and gently pat his butt...And last but not least..I was reading some comments on your page about ppd..and I myself just went a month ago and got put on lexapro..my baby is 6 mths old...Your body goes thru such dramatic changes in such a short amount of time, and then is expected to return just as quickly and sometimes that doesnt happen...lexapro isn't made to be taken your whole life, although Im sure u can..but it sure does help for now to make everything get back in place..emotionally, mentally...It helps me..just the other day I said to myself, 'Oh THIS is what Im suppost to feel like!' good luck and congrats on your baby boy! margysd -

Wednesday, 20 Feb I was just diagnosed with PPD. I am on Lexapro now. PPD is not something to take lightly. Anyone telling you to just get through it, thats not who you should listen to. It can become a serious issue. It all started for me a little into my pregnancy. If you feel you need help, go to your doctor. Theres so many ways to help you out, even if you dont want meds. theres conventional ways as well. Its a tough thing to deal with! I was to the point of panic attacks, hyperventalion and i was seeing things that were not happening. Help is always out there if your feeling down! No one wants to feel that way, especially with a new born! good luck to you! :) niseybear -
Wednesday, 20 Feb I had the blues for about 2 weeks...and bad! I had some horrible thoughts about death and awful things happening to my son or myself! IT WAS MISERABLE! Thank goodness I worked myself out of it. You will too, don't worry, but pay attention. If you feel this way any longer than a couple of weeks call your OB and let him/her help.
Good luck! excitedmama -
Tuesday, 19 Feb I had trouble for about the first month and a half with Gabriel. I think that crying one minute and being happy the next is normal, but if you feel like you need help I would call your doc. Mine said that the hormones just had to slow down. I hope that you feel better. Make sure that you take good care of yourself and let your husband help you. I was so convinced that my husband had no idea that I thought that I had to do everything. Turns out I was wrong and he did a great job. Keep your chin up:) wasabigizmobunny -
Tuesday, 19 Feb Hope you feel better! The long hours and lack of sleep can be so taxing... take good care of yourself and the little one :) LisaReader -
Tuesday, 19 Feb If your baby blues last beyond about two weeks, it's considered post-partum depression. I know because I had been feeling really depressed and anxious and emotional for a few weeks after my baby was born. I would call your doctor and let him know how you're feeling - there are lots of effective treatments for PPD. Hope you feel better soon!
