really?thx i just moved from fla in late jan. so i thought it had to do with the many, many trees we have all around us. it is scary though is not very often that i find bugs but is always a different kind. the other day i killed a baby centipede in my bathroom. and is not like we have a lot in our apt. so it's always pretty clean.

i didnt wash my clothes and im not planning on it. I think that the baby is going to get just as much "germs" being in stores etc.., as wearing clothes. I personally just think that if you shelter baby from absolulty everything one day they will get really sick cause they havent built up an amune system. Thats just me tho. All my friends didnt wash there clothes either. Its a pain in the ass cause you have to take tags off and babies grow so fast that you might want to return stuff they didnt get a chance to wear and exchange it for somehitng else.. thats just my opinion. My bf has two kids and he never washed the clothes either

I know right! I don't know how I'm expected to just go along with another doctor...I'm going to talk to her tomorrow about it. Let's hope I can be induced a few days early haha that would make me so happy!

it was a vaginal birth and we went home together, he was 33 hours old when we were discharged

Baby is here. He was born on Monday at 11:59am. exactly 4 weeks early. 5 pounds 11 oz. his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck twice. He is breastfeeding but since he is a preemie he gets tired after awhile so I let him try for a bit and then I pump it out and give it to him through a bottle. He is so little almost none of his clothes fit him. I have some pictures but need to find my cord to upload them to my laptop. I just got off msn messenger with my webcam so a friend of mine in another state could see him.

I am back to modified bedrest. That has given me a chance to get the nursery organized and all the clothing and blankets washed and put away. If I make it another 2 weeks I am completely off bedrest, however my doctor seems to think I have 1 or 2 weeks left. I have 1 last u/s scheduled for the 23rd to check for size and condition of the placenta due to the GD. My husbannd is finally starting to get excited anytime I call him at work the first thing he asks me is if I am in labor! He said he wishes I wouldn't drive my car because he is afraid I will go into labor while I am driving. I have tried to convince him I will be fine and if I need to, I can always pull over and call an ambulance.
Have you started to dialate yet?

angel708 - Friday, 30 May
How have u been?? long time no talk!...We both had cervix issues and mine is ok now! Is urs?

Chaos - Thursday, 29 May
Hi! Yep, my fetal fibronectin came out negetive, too - it's nice to know that there's a good chance that it will not arrive in that two week window! My husband wants to go back and have it done again after this two weeks LOL. How is your pregnancy going?

blessed-in-atl - Tuesday, 27 May
Loads of good news from the doctor today. Just goes to show you the power of prayer. The fluid that was around my baby's heart and lungs is gone and he is no longer measuring 2 weeks behind, but he is right on track except his big head which is 2 weeks ahead! The u/s estimates he weighs 4 lbs 14 oz. I am 1.2 cm dialated and my cervix is 1.7 cm long. Only 2 more weeks of strict bedrest, then 2 weeks of modified bedrest and if I make it past that I can get up and do whatever I want. It's great to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I have been to costco, the grocery store and babies r us. Of course I was riding in a motorized wheelchair though! I have an appt with the specialist for another u/s on Tuesday, I am hoping he will have some good news for me.

How are you doing?

Thanks for your message! We've done so much research on Trisomy 12--we've even been in contact with the doctor who runs that website you got the info from. We're just thinking positive thoughts! I'm actually off to the hospital to be induced! I hope you're well! Megan

Hey there!
Doing well. I went to the perinatologist on Friday and my cervix is still long and closed so he said he sees no reason why I should still be on berdrest. He said he would talk to my ob about it, but as far as I'm concerned I'm not on bedrest anymore, but still trying to take it easy. That's hard seeing that my shower is on Saturday and it is at my house. My friends have offered to clean, but I can't bare the thought of them cleaning my toilets!! That's great to hear that you only have a couple of more weeks! I guess things are going well. Update me whe you can...Oh, by the way I'm a Realtor too. Is the market looking up at all where you are in CA? I'm in GA. It's flat here.

Thankyou for the encouragement

I lost the pregnancy, but will try again in a couple of months. I was stunned that my doctor told me to go home and have a miscarrige. It was the most painful experience. It took 5 days. First day I was in the bathtub screaming for about two hours. Day three lots of intense piercing cramping and day five was another two hours in the tub screaming. I was so upset that my doctor said it wouldn't be so bad. He said I may experience some mild cramping and to take some advil. Apparently he was wrong. I swear it was if I were in labor the whole time. My poor boyfriend was sweating. Even when he wanted to take me to the ER he couldn't get me to move. If ever again it will be a D&C. No woman should have to go through that! I did not talk about it to any friends until much later and a girlfriend of mine said she went through the same kind of experience and she could not get up off the kitchen floor for two agonizing hours. The hot tub sort of helped. Never again. And I am switching doctor's for the next try!

I truly hope all goes well for you and baby! Best wishes and blesses! Getting close!

Thank you so much for the concern.

Saoirse

Thanks for your well-wishes! Baby is rambunctious as ever, it's Mum who is hurting!!! I think I did a bit of damage to my back in the fall... but I am just thankful that the little one is fine. How are you two doing?

blessed-in-atl - Monday, 5 May
I went to the doctor today, the perinatoligist says I have gestational diabetes and sent me to get baseline labwork to check for pre-eclampsia. While there I also recieved a lovely orange jug to pee in for the next 24 hours. I was right when I told my husband I thought they were paying alot of attention to the baby's heart on the last ultrasound. The doc says there is a small amount of fluid around the baby's heart but he doesn't seem concerned with it right now. He says I have a skinny baby and this one won't be anywhere near the 8 pounds 4 ounces my last weighed. I am scheduled for an another ultrasound in 3 weeks, my midwife appts will continue to be weekly and every other week I will have non stress tests. I am also awaiting a call from the diabetes clinic at the hospital to meet with a dietician for nutritional counseling. My husband went with me today and now undersands how strict my bedrest is supposed to be. I think when the perinatoligist went and got the wheelchair for me that must have done it. I am allowed to lay or sit but no walking or driving. Hubby has now offered to get up my 7 year old and get him off to school and is going to go in late on Mondays to take me to the doctor! I am so much less stressed than last week, even though I found out I do have GD. I can easily sacrifice 10 weeks of food I love for the health of my little boy.

blessedmom2b - Monday, 5 May
Thanks so much for the encouragment! I know I don't need to worry or be scared too much about being a mom:) My emotions are all over the place. The day after I wrote that...I was walking around babies r us and getting excited and just had a peaceful feeling about everything. I guess we all have our up (confident) and down (insecure) days:) Thanks again and congrats on your baby on the way:)

blessed-in-atl - Saturday, 3 May
Still no word on the GD test, I will find out Monday for sure. They never bothered calling me to tell me I failed the one hour, the midwife told me at my next visit. I guess I should find out the results of my ultrasound on Monday too.
I have my real estate license too but the market is so bad here in Atlanta it isn't woth the paper its printed on right now. When do you go back to the doctor?

blessed-in-atl - Friday, 2 May
I went and took my 3 hour glucose test on Wednesday, haven't heard back from the doc's office yet. Matter of fact I still haven't heard from the perinatoligist who never showed for my appt on Monday and I am worried because the ultrasound tech spent alot of time looking at the baby's heart. I am thinking maybe there is something wrong with it. When I was leaving I told her, "See you next Monday" and she said "Oh you you will be hearing from us way before then. I called on Wednesday and the receptionist told me the perinatoligist was there seeing patients and he would have to sit down and go over my chart before he could call me. Still no phone call. I am so frustrated.
On another note, I am supposed to be on bedrest but still having to get my son off to school and can't even get my husband to put his dinner plate in the dishwasher, much less help with any housework. He is gone 13 hours a day for work, but my 7 year old is here from 3pm on. I had to make a quick trip to the store a few days ago because I needed food I could get up and quickly make to eat and there was nothing here. Well atleast today is Friday, I can ask my one and only friend here to come over since she usually has weekends off.
I hate to come off like someone who is always complaining, I am really not like that, but I must admit it feels really good to get it off my chest.
Its good to hear your cervix has gotten longer and you got to get out of the house, I know you must have really enjoyed it.
