Hi! I saw that you were on bedrest too. Misery loves company so thought I would say hello. Are you on total bedrest where you have to lie on your side all day or can you sit up reclined. It sounds like a small thing but such a big difference. I can sit reclined on the couch all day and can go to bathroom and shower. This is my 3rd week and I am so looking forward to week 36 when I think I might be fine. Still need to talk to the doc though. Another free movie site is quicksilverscreen.com. Talk with you soon!!

Do you still have your foster baby? If so how in the world do you care for her while on bedrest? I had an appt yesterday. It was with the perinatologist but he never showed so the ultrasound tech did the scan and said the baby's abdomen is measuring 2 and a half weeks behind, the baby has dropped to the 3rd percentile and my cervix has dropped from 24 mm to 18 mm in the last 2 weeks so scoot over and make some room cuz now I am on complete bedrest too. I told a nurse I would see them on Monday at my next appt and she said, "Oh you will be hearing from us way before then" great, now I am a worried mess!Meanwhile I have to figure out what to do with getting my 7 year old off to school. I told him he is gonna have to eat the school food the rest of the year cuz I can't get up to make his lunch every morning and I have asked the bus driver for a premission slip that will allow him to walk home from the bus stop so I don't have to be sitting there waiting on him but I am not comfortable with him being there waiting for the bus without me in the morning so I drove him there and just reclined my car seat all the way back while waiting on the bus. Ahhhhhhhh, I feel a little better, always good to vent!

My midwife said she wants me on modified bed rest. I'm not confined to the bed, but she said no walking around being on my feet for an hour or more at a time so I just try to take lots of breaks throughout the day. I have been laying around watching lots of movies. I get an ultrasound on Monday so I will know what my cervix is measuring then but for now they tell me it is firm and closed. My Mom hasn't even set a date for my baby shower yet, we may end up with a meet baby party lol. Either way I have bought everything except a bassinet that the baby will need when he first comes home. Everything on my registry are merely wants, I could make do without them, at least for a few months.

I failed my 1 hour glucose test so I have to go take the 3 hour, not looking forward to all that fasting as I wake up starving. Also, at my last appt they saw a small amount of protein in my urine so I am being watched closely to see if I develop pre-eclampsia again with this pregnancy.

Is bedrest driving you nuts yet? I know of a great website to watch free movies from your pc. Let me know if you want the url.

I had been having contractions all week and they got progressively worse, so on Friday night I called the doc and she said go to the hospital. They gave me Brethine and Betamethasone to mature the lungs and kept me overnight. Thank God, my cervix is closed, but b/c I am so early they put me on bedrest and Brethine as needed. I haven't had to take any since 6am so hopefully it's working along with the bedrest. It is so hard though to just lay here and not get up when you need/want to and depend on everyone else for everything. Before this I was gardening, painting the trim on our house, sanding and painting patio furniture. I was nesting alright and now all that goes to a halt. The nursery hasn't even been started b/c I thought I would have plenty of time. Oh, well I guess the only thing that matters is that our little ones stay in there and come out healthy. Sorry for the ramble, but I have plenty of time and this medication wires me!!!

If you are having pressure in your colon I would definatley go and get checked out. When you go into labor, labor the sensation is just that pressure in your butt like you have to BM. Hope this helps. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!!!

Just a little update. My cervix is 2.4 cm (it was 2.5 cm 6 weeks ago) so there has been no significant change. The ultrasound tech also commented that my cervix wasn't opening when she pressed on my tummy like it was before. At first I was thinking OMG why did you not tell me it was opening when you pushed on it before, but now that I have had time to think about it, I am relieved I didn't know as I would just worry that much more, but I wouldn't have been cutting my grass!

Oh.. great I will look into that because it's really uncomfortable. And today my son woke up with what seems to be the measles, I called my doc and she said that it's bad for me and to try to stay away from my son.

Hi jen no i dont have a cerlage in place they wont do one to dangerous, so i mvery scared as i et told different things from the differnt people i keep seeing my first measurement of my cervix was 16 mm a wek later i went back and it was 4mm ith funneling , i hve to go every week and last week it was still 4mm with funneling, but he told me not to bedrest , just take it easy, i had 2 steriod shots when i was 24 weeks and am also on vaginal pesseries morning and night. back again on friday so i will keep u posted, speak soon.

My cervix measured 2.5 cm at 20 weeks. I am not any bedrest although I am not working anymore and do try to take it as easy as I can except maybe to mow my grass every 2 weeks. Anytime I start feeling heavy or crampy down below I call it a day and lay down. I am so greatful to have made it this far and crossing my fingers for atleast 5 more weeks. Now watch me end up being 2 weeks over and needing to be induced! haha, I could only hope. I really wish I didn't have to wait for another 2 weeks for the ultrasound, I am so paraniod. Why wait until 28 weeks? I will try begging at my 26 week appt on Monday. Wish me luck!

How's the cervix? Long and closed I hope. Mine was 2.5 5 weeks ago, I have been on the progesterone and will get a transvaginal ultrasound in 3 more weeks to check it again.
