Proud parents to be!

Today I went to see the doctor for so upper abdominal pain... probably a liver or gallbladder problem (Just what I needed... on my first day NOT feeling queasy!). I did get to hear the baby's cute little heart beat for the first time. Since my husband wasnt with me, I asked the doctor if we could wait til Brian could be there, so we're gonna do it again on Friday (They are doing an ultrasound of my liver and gallbladder on Friday). So I am denying that I actually heart the heartbeat until I hear it with my wonderful husband!

Today we had another appointment. So far so good. At this point I have gained 10 pounds. Thats exciting.... I guess. We got to listen to that little heartbeat again which sounds a lot stronger and louder than it did last time. The doctor had no trouble finding it. We also scheduled our next ultrasound... we have to wait until April 18 to find out the gender of our baby. That sounds like such a long time! By then I will be 21 weeks. I guess its just disappointing becuase it sounds like so many people are finding this out now (17 weeks). So boo for that, but Im sure the next month will fly by just like the last 4.

28 weeks: I had my blood glucose test today... with everyone talking about the "orange drink" I was surprised to have a drink very similar to Sprite - very sweet lemon lime soda. It wasnt too bad, but I have had problems with soda upsetting my stomach since week 12. Oh well. I survived, but wont get the results from my doc until June 24. My uterus is currently measuring 26 cm at the fundus and my blood pressure and baby's heart beat are all good. I finally had a month where I only gained 3 pounds!! Hooray!! That is much better than the 8 I gained last month.

The doc says I should expect to have an ultrasound at 32 weeks and 36 weeks to check the baby's size and position. Getting closer

Wow! That is really exciting. I wish I knew when we were going to have this baby! I was hoping something was going to happen yesterday or last night- I was having the worst period like cramps and was feeling like i was going to start my period any second all day yesterday plus i had a bit of spotting. I hear ya on the hips and back killing- holy cow! Well- you have a few days left- I wish you the best of luck, and easy delivery and happy pushing!

no the cervadil did not cause any contractions and it did not hurt at all. It just softend the cervix so that the pitocin could do its job of causing contractions so I could dilate. The hardest part was the few hours I had to lay on my back so it could stay in place...good luck and congrats!

Hi I am from week 7 but I had a baby last year in August and I was induced using cervadil. It looks like a small lassoo that they put around your cervix to help soften it up so it will stretch out for the birth. Mine had to stay in place for 12 hours and then they started the pitocin drip. They chose this because at week 34 I was 50% effaced and dilated to a 1 and then at week 39 i was exactly the same so I said ok lets do it. Hope that helps some

why are you being induced? Everything ok?

STCT - Thursday, 14 August
I don't know much about the gel because it's my first time. I do know I'll be induced on the 22nd and my Dr will have me go to his office on the 21st to out the gel on my cervix and then I'll go in the next day to have the baby. It's to help soften your cervix to make the induction easier. I have my next Dr visit tomorrow and will find out more.

I was wondering if you had already delivered since I'd haven't seen you in a while. Did you turn in all your disability stuff yet? We got our 1st check yesterday for 3 weeks of missed work... but the check will actually come every 2 weeks for 2 week pay periods. I was surprised how quickly I got paid!

congrats on week 37! it seems to be an awfully dragging S--L--O--W week though for us! =) best of luck to you!!

I know... Don't you wish you could just have it all done at 1 time? I hate this "hurry up and wait" business! Even our Pediatrician doesn't want us to fill out any paperwork until we have our 1st in office visit even tho he'll be seeing the baby everyday in the hospital. But then again, my biggest down fall is that I'm a planner and you really can't plan anything when it comes to pregnancy.
