Hello, My name is Kari. I am 25 years old and live in Montana. I found out that I am pregnant with my first child on October 9th. I am very excited and cannot wait, even though I was completley surprised when I first found out. I am now 8 weeks along. I had my first doctor appointment on Monday, November 5th. I got to see the heartbeat, and it is by far the most beautiful thing I have yet seen in my life :) It was moving around so much in the U/S :) Very Excited!!

Well Tuesday Dec. 4th was my 2nd doctor appointment. I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. It was a strong 150. It is just so amazing. I recorded it on my cell phone and listen to it as often as possible :) I can't believe I am almost to my 13th week alreay. June will be here before I know it :)

Monday, January 7th I had my 17 week check-up. The nurse had a hard time picking up the heartbeat with the doppler, but told me not to worry because it has plenty of space to hide. Even though she told me not to worry, I had to a little bit. It all worked out for the best though, cause they brought in their little u/s they have and so I got to see the babay again plus see the fast little heartbeat. I could not believe how much my little one had grown since my 8 week appointment. Everything is going well. I am scheduled for my `big ` ultrasound on January 30th. Still don `t know if I want to find out the sex of my baby. I think I will probably just wait, hey, whats another 20 weeks :)

The doctor gave me the following, and I just had to share.....HOW TO KNOW IF WHETHER OR NOT YOU ARE READY TO HAVE A BABY1. MESS TESTSmear peanut butter on the sofa and curtains. Now rub your hands in the wet flower bed and rub on the walls. Cover the stains with crayons. Place a fish stick behind the couch and leave it there all summer.2. TOY TESTObtain a 55-gallon box of Legos. (If Legos are not available, you may substitute roofing tracks or broken bottles). Have a friend spread them all over the house. Put on a blindfold. Try to walk to the bathroom or kitchen. Do NOT scream (this could wake a child at night).3. GROCERY STORE TESTBorrow one or two small animals (goats are best) and take them with you as you shop at the grocery store. Always keep them in site and pay for anything they eat or damage.4. DRESSING TESTObtain one large, unhappy, live octopus. Stuff into a small net bag making sure that all arms stay inside.5. FEEDING TESTObtain a large plastic milk jug. Fill halfway with water. Suspend from the ceiling with a stout cord. Start the jug swinging. Try to insert spoonfuls of soggy cereal into the mouth of the jug while pretending to be an airplane. Now dump the contents of the jug on the floor.6. NIGHT TESTPrepare by obtaining a small cloth bag and fill it with 8 to 12 pounds of sand. Soak it thoroughly in water. At 8:00PM begin to waltz and hum with the bag until 9:00PM. Lay down you bag and set your alarm for 1o:00PM. Get up, pick your bag, and sing every song you have ever heard. Make up about a dozen more and sing these too until 4:00AM. Set alarm for 5:00AM. Get up and make breakfast. Keep this up for 5 years. Look cheerful.7. PHYSICAL TEST (WOMEN)Obtain a large bean-bag chair and attach it to the front of your clothes. Leave it there for 9 months. Now remove 10% of the beans.8. PHYSICAL TEST (MEN)Go to the nearest drug store. Set your wallet on the counter. Ask the clerk to help himself. Now proceed to the nearest food store. Go to the head office and arrange for your paycheck to be directly deposited to the store. Purchase a newspaper. Go home and read it quietly for the last time.9. FINAL ASSIGNMENTFind a couple who already have a small child. Lecture them on how they can improve their discipline, patience, tolerance, toilet training and child `s table manners. Suggest many ways they can improve. Emphasize to them that they should never allow their children to run riot. Enjoy this experience. It will be the last time you will have all the answers

Well here I am, 20 weeks today. I can `t believe I am half way done with my pregnancy already!! I have my big ultrasound on Wednesday the 30th. I am probably not going to find out the sex of my baby. Well at least until the birth :) I just can `t wait to see how big my baby has gotten and see all of his/her features that have developed. 20 down and 20 to go!!

ITS A BOY!!! I am so excited. I had my big ultrasound on January 30th!! It was so much fun seeing my baby. I really didn `t want to know the sex of the baby, but the trainee tech kind of let it slip...oops :) Its alright though, I am happy to know! He was healthy with the exception of large kindeys. The doctor told me not to worry about it though, it is pretty common in boys. I will have another u/s in like 6 weeks so they can check on him again :) I am so excited that I will get to see my boy again! I just hope the problem corrects itself.

Well my doctor told me to try and take baths as hot as I could stand the water so I'm sure getting in a hot tub won't kill ya.

I realize how much I have to do right now and I don't think I'm gunna be doing it! LOL Just don't feel up to it. I gathered some of the laundry but I haven't gotten it to the laundry room yet. LOL. And I did laundry a few days ago... Still sitting in the dryer! There have been days when I had sudden urges to clean like crazy but it's been a little while now. Bet hubby is disappointed! LOL

You can't have the temp above 85 degrees. Other than that it's safe. I'll chat with my doc tomorrow to make sure but as far as what I've read about it, as long as it's not too high it's ok. I would rather go with them. They are going up to Tennessee to their boat. I wanna go so bad. It's not fair. :(

Are you doing anything fun for memorial weekend?? We are going to lost vally lake resort. We own down there. We have a 27 foot travel trailer that we keep down there. We love camping, so I'm sure we'll have fun!! There are several lakes down there to swim in and to fish!! We love fishing!! We are also going to get a paddleboat, the kids will like that! We have a couple friends going with us. I'm excited to just get out!!
Oh yea, your boobs are going to get big!!!! Ecspecially when your engorged with milk!! LOL

Well, you never know! Things might just happen really fast for you and then just drag on for me! LOL I have no idea how I lost 2lbs because I've eating the same... Well except sometimes I couldn't eat dinner because I would get really nauseous. But I would eat fine during the day. Today I feel like crap though. Spent the morning either on the couch moaning in pain or in the bathroom puking up NOTHING! I couldn't even keep water down. Little man hasn't been moving much either. I dunno. But I did just put some picture collages together and hung those up on the wall. At least I don't feel completely useless! Ohhhhh! I woke up at 5:30 the other morning and just HAD to do the laundry. Guess it must be some of that nesting crap? I'm not sure. I got it with my son but I cleaned walls and scrubbed floors! LOL But yeah, I'm soooo ready to meet my little man! As I'm sure you are too! I bought a slushie maker thingy yesterday and I made myself one last night. All I kept thinking was that it would make some really great mixed slushie drinks! LOL

I'm glad everything is going well your way. You know it's getting hot down here. It's driving me batty!!! Fortunately we got a window AC unit that is working well for the upstairs. Once it gets super hot outside we'll see how that works. We will get a freestanding unit for downstairs and then work on getting an attic fan to pull the heat out. All those things should work well until we get a new AC.

Camping sounds like fun. I'm house sitting for my boss this weekend. I get to get in the hot tub while I'm there so that should be fun. I'm so glad it's only a 4 day week next week. I'm so ready to not work anymore for awhile.

Well when it's your first it is always scary and you get nervous..... But as for me being nervous I'm not I'm more anxious to try this one w/o any pain meds. Don't worry too much it will all come together b4 he gets here and then it will seem like you've had it done and ready 4 ever. I hope you have a joyful experience with your delivery and good luck!

Yes, nursing bras are a must have!!! Do you have a Kohl's department store there in MT? Thats where I bought mine from my last pregnancy. Come to think of it, I probably need a couple new ones!! I'm not sure if Madalynn has dropped or not. I don't feel any different though, so she probably hasn't. I have not had any signs of her coming early, so June 11th it will be I guess! I just got a pink bumbo on craigs list and am looking to buy a video baby monitor too. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2437590 Here it is. I would love to get a small handheld color monitor, but thouse are like $170!!! Thats way too expensive!! lol

Yeah, had my appt. I'm about 3cm dilated and I've actually lost 2lbs! Weird, huh? So my total weight gain is at 19lbs. He's measuring right on target so I guess she doesn't think he'll be a large baby like my first. Which is nice!

I would suggest slippers with hard soles. That's what I got. You really won't need shoes until you leave the hospital, which I'll most likely just live in flip flops like every summer!

If you could make it, you'd be more than welcome to come to the party! I bought some invitations today so I've got to fill those out. What a pain in the ass! My hand gets tired after filling out only 4!

I so know what you mean about wishing people lived closer! We live inside city limits but we don't know anyone since we just moved here. It kinda blows. I looooooove camping!! So much fun! 90mins is kind of far, especially if you go in to labor and your having contractions. It would be the longest drive of your life!!!

I know it's been forever. I thought you'd be happy to know I passed that class. It was awful and I'm glad I have no more school until August.

Things are going ok. We are working on trying to work around not having an AC. It's getting hotter so we'll see.

I am soooo beyond ready to have this baby. I was at work today absolutely miserable. I wanted to scream and run away and tell them I wouldnt' be back until mid july. Of course I can't afford to do that but it was a great thought. LOL

Got a little bit of shopping. I just ordered some prints of some pictures I've taken lately online at walgreens. I'll pick those up later. Hubby should get out of work this afternoon. We need to get a propane tank for the grill we bought yesterday. I'm going to barbecue tonight and maybe we'll have a fire out back again! Have a relaxing night. I need to get some more shopping done. Just pick up some crap I need and some invitations for the housewarming/welcome baby party I'm throwing June 28th. I hope everyone can make it. I'll be upset if not many people show. Kind of hurts my feelings when I go out of my way to throw a get together for friends and family and hardly anyone shows up. I'm gunna be making tons of food and we'll have plenty of beer so hopefully that'll attract some people! LOL That's great that you have everything you need for your bag. I still need to buy a nightgown or something. I've got undies/bras/socks/slippers/toothbrush in mine so far. Other stuff will just have to wait because I use it all everyday! Maybe I'll buy some travel size things. Anyway, no plans for Memorial Day weekend. Hubby will be working anyway. Do you have any plans that you don't want to have? I hear the busy thing. You'll just have to take a day to get all of the things ready that you need to have ready. I know, easier said than done! I have my next doctors appt in about an hour. Hopefully I've made some more progress!

Hey girl, how are you doing? I am doing fine... I am so bored.. I am glad that everything is working out with Dan's son being there.. I cant believe he still sucks his thumb that is crazy.. Does he do it like all the time or just here and there?? Is Dan taking off of work while he is there? Who is watching him while ya'll work?
It has been so hot here, it got up to 99 yesterday.. So have you had any signs of labor? I feel so different here that last couple of days.. I had to go to the dentist this morning, i have a tooth that is killing me... The dentist said i need to have a root canal done but it was so infected when i got there that he would not do any work on it until i got the infection out.. So he gave me some medication for pain and then something to clear up the infection... I started the medication today after i ate and it already feels better not much but alittle. Well girl I will let you go for now.. Let me know how your doing! Talk to you soon!!:)

Well, my doctor said since I was getting a c-section I didn't need to get a strep b test!! Woo hoo! I know the pain sucks ecspecially getting out of bed or rolling over. Is the pain your getting pelvic pain?? Only two more doctor appointments!! Its getting really close!! We had been getting a lot of rain, but other than that, the weather has been beautiful!!! We have had our windows open for a while now!! I am not looking forward to the hot weather of summer!! We are going camping this weekend for memorial weekend, I hope its nice!!!
My uncle lives out in Montana. I'm not sure which city though. I think close to (whats the name of that really big park there?).
I feel HUGE and am sooo done being pregnant. I really cant see how I can get any bigger??? I have a feeling the baby is already like 8lbs!!! It looks that way by looking at me! I'm huge!

I'm glad to hear everything is going good with your pregnancy..... And I'll bet you can't wait to have the baby you have less than 4 weeks to go!!!! I can't wait until i have less than 4 weeks to go! We just got ourselves a brand new 3 Bedroom 2 full Bathroom apartment which is GREAT we dont have to live with his parents anymore i don't think it would have worked out once the baby got here they would complain when the girls would make too much noise so i could imagine what they would be like with a baby crying...... ANYWAY I was sick friday night and saturday so i haven't done much in the way of house work which i need to do i need to get his room ready and get the rest of the house ready as well so I'm gonna be super busy for a while which is fine with me b/c then the time will go by faster! Hey there, nope I haven't really had pain in my lower belly... although I definitely feel more pressure in my pelvic bone... almost like it's spreading apart. It's amazing how many aches & pains come w/ pregnancy!
I did have my last shower today... got some nice stuff, including our diaper genie... thank goodness! But the funny part is that I ended up late to my own dang shower b/c I had to go get assessed in the hospital! Woke up this morning & stood up & there was a gush of clear fluid... not enough to be considered water breaking, but enough where it concerned me. Dr said I had to go get assessed & I found out it was definitely not amniotic fluid. They monitored me & the baby for a while, and did another u/s to check fluid levels which looked good. She measured the foot from heel to toe & it was 7.65 cm! I took out a ruler & measured... seems like a big foot but who knows. I'm trying to not get too freaked out about this whole "big baby" thing... but the nurse who did the u/s commented that s/he's pretty big! So w/ everyone saying that, it's hard not to focus on it!
Yeah, the swelling is just a blast isn't it? I think mine is getting worse b/c it's been warmer out too... not as hot as it is where you are, but it's been in the 7O's and low 8O's. We turned on the air for the 1st time last night.
Sleeping has been a real chore for me too. It's a serious production when I have to turn over in bed. I can hardly move anymore. On one hand I'm so ready to be over this pregnancy, on the other hand I'm so scared to actually have to face the reality of being responsible for this little creature!

For me it isn't the ligaments stretching, it's him sitting awkward! It hurts to even lift my legs when I'm laying sideways... Kinda like doing a leg left, only I can't even get my leg up an inch! LOL I feel like I have a bowling ball in between my legs! That's awesome that meeting them wasn't too nerve wracking! I've met a few people that have made me feel like a rocket scientist too... I love those kind of people! Well, they're good for a few things! LOL But yeah, my hubby will actually have the day OFF tomorrow! Yay! I'm dragging him out shopping. I need to get a few shirts. It's 87 degrees out and all I have is one pair of PANTS and 2 shirts that I can wear now. Yuck! I'm thinking of just tying a sheet around myself! LOL

Well, the contractions stopped after about 4hrs. But I've been really crampy since and I can barely walk anymore. I think he dropped and I think I'm losing my mucous plug. Not sure though, all I know is I have had TONS of discharge! Not like icky discharge... Doesn't have any odor and isn't green or anything! LOL Wow, you are tall! I'm only 5'4 or so and my hubby is 5'10 so we're both pretty short. And talk about sock rings! I have them every day! Especially today. I was out walking around and shopping for about 4-5hrs. We're pretty much set on baby things. All we need now is the glider or rocker and a plant for the nursery. And I need a breast pump. I did buy a couple nursing bras today at JC Penny's. It was buy one get one for .99 so I had to get them. Although I wish they were a bit more stylish! They aren't too bad though. My hospital bad is ALMOST packed. I have undies/bras/socks in there and an outfit for going home. Which is a tank and some comfy sweat pants. Then all I have in there is a toothbrush so there's still a bit more I have to put in there. Deodorant and what not. At least Cayden's bag is all ready! Anyway, I'm glad to hear things are going good with Dan's son. I bet you were nervous about that!

ugh, my appt just made me upset. i was looking forward to going in and getting an ultrasound like my last doctor said i would. but no. the doc just checked my belly and did the strep b or whatever its called on me and thats it! i was dying to know how big she is to get to see her, but he didnt do it! i was also hoping they would at least schedule me a c section just so i know i date and so i can at least know an end is near. i cannot be pregnant 4 more weeks! i just cant! i literally cried when i came out of the office like a wimp! haha! i was being pouty. next week they schedule me a c section though. they told me it would be between 39 and 40 but i want it at 38!! hopefully i can convince them. your so lucky to only have gained 20lbs! i think i hit 38! everyone says i dont look it, but i think theyre saying it to be nice. my legs and hips got huge! only a few more weeks of overindulgence of ice cream and then i have to work out! are you getting as tired as i am? i havent came anywhere near that nesting thing yet!

I am so sorry that i had you worried.. I went a head and took my leave at work, so needless to say i have not been on the computer much! I got my internet hooked back up at my house so i will be on more often.. I am doing great! No baby yet! How are you? Are you feeling ok? I have been thinking about you too.. Work was just so stressful and last friday i found out i get 12 weeks for leave so i decided to go for it.. Is your stepson there yet?? How is all that going?
I go back to the doctor tomorrow, I am still having contractions but nothing that has taking me to the hospital yet.. Well girl i hope all is well with you.. Let me know how you are doing... Miss talking to you!:(

It's been a while since i checked in on you..... How are you feeling i'll bet your ready for this baby to be out! I know I'am and I still have a little over a month and a half to go. Anyway i went to the doctor on monday and he said everything looks good but i need to stop gaining so much weight or i may need a c-section cause he may be too big. He weighed 3 pounds 9 ounces about 3 weeks ago and i go for another U/S on the 27th to check up on everything and see how big he's getting. Yeah, I went out and got him a cake from Wal-Mart. I should have been a good wife and made him one, but I didn't! LOL I have my doctors appointment tomarrow and it seems everyone is getting their strep b test done around this time. I'm not looking forward to that! Since I still have my hemmeroids from a couple weeks ago, how embarrased will I be???!!! I can't wait till June 11th!!!! I know it will go by fast though. I wish I knew something to bring on labor naturally!! LOL

I used to drink quite a bit too, but it was only after my son was sleeping and I knew I didn't have anything to worry about. I hardly ever got hangovers so that didn't bother me. Wow! I can't believe that he's going to be there already! Seems like you were just telling me about him! Right now I am actually having contractions. Been so for the past 45 minutes. 2 every 10 minutes but they only last about 30 seconds.... I dunno. I'll keep an eye on it. Wouldn't that be something? Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday!
