Hi. I found this site b/c I have been on disability from work, and now modified bedrest, and I have lots of time to spend online now! I have had partial Placenta Previa and now have high BP, so I have not been able to do much during this pregnancy. I have an outside sales job, so I have been off work for two months now. The worst part has been the "pelvic rest" due to the placenta previa. It has been hard on us (I actully think harder for me than my husband.) This is my second pregnancy, but my son is almost seven, so it has been a long time since I have been through all of this! I have really enjoyed reading all of your entries, and it has helped pass the time while I am home. :)

I had my u/s appt. with the specialist y'day to see just how big this baby girl is now. I do not have GD, but I have been measuring 4 weeks ahead. Well, she weighs 7 lbs. already! Her abdoman and head are measuring 4 weeks ahead. And she is gianing about 3/4 lbs. a week. With 5 weeks to go it is needless to say, I will most likely have to be induced early. But b/c of my pre-e, it will most likely come to that anyway. She is fully enagaged in the birth canal and I am 70-75% effaced. I would love to go into labor naturally, as I was induced with my first b/c of pre-e and never got to experience labor. But with being on this strict bed rest, I can't imagine I will go into labor without some assistance. I have another u/s on March 31 (I'll be 37 weeks) to check her size again and to have an amnio to see if her lungs are developed. If the test comes back that her lungs are developed, then I will be induced the next day. But that would be April Fools Day!

I was sent to the hospital L&D y'day b/c my BP was very high and wouldn't come down and there was protein in my urine. At the hospital they hooked me up to the fetal monitor and did blood work. The blood work came back fine and my BP went down while I was there. But, I am now on strict bed rest. I can only get up to use the bathroom or take an occasional quick shower. I was induced almost a month early with my son due to pre-eclampsia, and I see this heading in the same direction. The good news is he weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz at birth and was perfectly healthy. This baby girl is measuring a month ahead of my due date, so hopefully if they have to take her early, she will be plenty big and strong. :) I will be going in 3x's a week now for fetal monitoring and to have my BP checked. This also means we won't be having either of my two baby showers now. I am disappointed, but know what is important is to keep her in as long as possible, which means I won't be doing anything for the next 4 weeks or so. For now, we are both healthy and happy and doing well. We are just rest, rest, resting! :)

I had my dr. appt. and my blood pressure was decent, but I did have some protein in my urine. I am on constant BP/preeclampsia watch. Also, I am now measuring 4 weeks ahead of my projected due date. I have an u/s in two weeks to see how big she really is. At my last u/s she was measuring 3 weeks ahead, so we will see if she is now 4 weeks ahead as we suspect. I don't know what it will mean, or if it will change any course of action, but I am actually happy she is big just in case the pre-e gets out of control and they have to take her early as happened with my first born. I was induced almost a month early with him b/c of the pre-e, and he weighed a healthy 7 lbs. 2 oz. So bigger is better just in case. Now if I go full term, that could be a different story. OUCH!

I had an u/s appt. and a dr.'s appt today. They checked the location of my placenta, and it has moved up a bit again and is now 3 cm away from my cervix, which means I can have a vaginal birth now! The baby weighed in and measured at 31 weeks. And when I went to see my dr. after the u/s she measured me and I measured at 31 weeks too. According to the u/s she weighs 3 and a half pounds already. I'm not sure if she is just a big baby or if I am farther along than thought. I am going to get another u/s in 5 weeks to see how she is measuring. She is head down and facing my back, in the ready position. I hope she stays that way! Oh, they also said she has a BIG head! Yikes!

Ok, yesterday I definitely felt like I had lost by body completely. It started with not being able to tie my shoes. I had to ask my husband to help me. Then that made me laugh, and my laugh was so deep (my husband asks why being pregnant makes me laugh like Santa Clause) that only made me laugh harder at myself, then because I laughed hard, I peed in my pants a bit. I ended up on the floor laughing so hard with wet underwear. God, what has happened to me??!! Thank goodness my husband thinks it's funny too. We laugh together, which I am so thanful for. Time to work on my Kegels!

I have measured right on track all pregnancy, but now I am measuring a bit big. I passed my glucose test though! :) Was hoping that wasn't why I was a bit big. I have an u/s appt. next week to see if my placenta has moved up more. I may be in the clear for a vaginal birth if so.
Hey, nothing here yet!
