I wake up feeling tired most mornings. I get up to pee once or twice which is okay, it's the flipping and moving that keeps me up. I must change position at least 100 times a night! The body pillow is fantastic, but I should have bought two so I wouldn't have to drag it with me every time I change sides. My poor boyfriend.....
It's the weekend, which should mean relaxing, but for me means studying. I can't seem to get a bit of school work done in the evenings any more. My brain shuts down around 2:30 or so and then there is no hope. This really affected my marks last term, I dropped by at least 5% in every course. This semester I have two arts courses online to decrease the workload and an organic chemistry course at school. I give birth three weeks before exams so we'll see how that pans out!

I think my baby is trying to kick his way out. He would not leave me alone last night. He's always been really active but this was ridiculous! It's starting to really hurt too. He kicks when I'm hungry. He kicks to thank me for eating. He kicks when I'm walking, lying down, sitting, and sleeping. I've got to wonder, when does he sleep? My only relief right now is that he is breech and is kicking my pelvis area as opposed to my diaphragm. So I can breathe, yet feel like I'm about to give birth ALL the time. I really hope this is no indication of what I am in for in the future.
I used "Jack" in a conversation with my father yesterday and he said "what if it's a girl?" I reminded him that we did see testicles on the ultrasound. He then told me that ultrasounds are not 100% effective and that it could have been labia. Now, my father is a doctor. He also has a wicked sense of humor. This seems impossible to me- but just thought I would put it out there. I have heard many stories of boys being born when the parents thought it was a girl....but the other way around? Anyone?

Babies with Beards - Strange baby website
I'm starting to concern myself with being prepared for early labour. I want to get a bag packed for me and for the baby, but this has started a snowball effect, and now I want to have everything I need at home too! Problem is, no money to do all this at once. I know I will be having a baby shower in the weeks to come, and I know my family will all want to buy me things, it just hasn't happened yet and it's getting worrisome the longer I wait. What will I need to pick up myself? How long should I wait? It's not as if I can ask people what they will be getting for me, or designate gifts to friends and relatives! Any suggestions on how to proceed? I figure a lot of pregnant brains are better than one!

The best and worst places in the world to give birth - article
Last night was my second pre-natal class. Kind of neat being in a room full of large bellies and their terrified partners. The topic was not neat however. LABOR. We watched a video, practiced positions and discussed aides and techniques. I am officially freaked out. I've been pregnant for seven months and only now does it start to feel real? This baby has to come out of me one way or another, and I don't want to go through all that.
There is so much to remember. A giant list of things to bring to the delivery room including a home-made "labor-ade" drink (which we got the recipe for if any one wants it ), breathing techniques, things to remind the nurses/midwives to do or not to do, when to change positions - for instance, I had no idea that delivering on your back is the worst position there is, bad for baby and bad for mom - and that if I get an epidural which I had certainly planned on doing, you have to deliver on your back.
Someone please just knock me out cold when my water breaks and wake me up when my clean, dry, healthy baby is in my arms - and tell me I was strong, beautiful and quiet during the whole thing....

Yesterday I bought some stuff to take to the hospital when I go. I got a nightgown and matching robe, slippers and tights ( to wear until "go-time") for the delivery. The nightgown is designed especially for nursing so I don't have to remove or tear off the hideous hospital gown when they hand my baby to me to feed. I bought a pj set to change into after delivery with a nursing tank and zip up hoodie. All the winter stock is on sale right now at maternity stores so this stuff was mega-cheap!!!
I also bought a couple pairs of the largest underwear I have ever seen. I have been in denial about underwear up until now - I have been wearing bikinis and thongs to try desperately to cling to any remaining bit of my former self. Stupid. These new ones are ridiculously comfortable and one of the best purchases I have made!

In my last pre-natal class we debunked some pregnancy myths. I am shocked at some of the things I could have been doing this whole time and haven't been out of some sort of internet driven irrational fear campaign. First, sleeping on your back is ok, if baby says so. I can't, it makes me feel sick, but only recently as my belly has gotten heavier. I spent the first two trimesters avoiding this for no reason. Second, food. Sushi is ok if the fish has been frozen first. Freezing kills the parasites. Soft cheeses are ok, (if pasteurized) herbal teas are ok, coffee is ok in small amounts....Hm. Better late than never I guess.`
Baby body update: My baby is no longer breech. I have gained 55 pounds. I now have stretch marks on my sides .The heartburn may very well kill me. I'm breaking out like a 14 year old girl. I just bought a pregnancy belt to support my belly so my abdominal muscles dont tear apart any further. GET IT OUT OF ME!!!

Zaky Infant Pillow
My boobs are ridiculous. I cannot believe they are just going to get bigger. It would be okay if they were giant luscious playboy boobs or something, but these huge, ugly, sagging stretched out things? Aaaah!!! My boobs were my favorite feature. I had great boobs. I'm scared to lose what I used to have. Now they are expanding at an alarming rate, just to eventually have the life sucked out of them. I mean, whats after a DD? They don't even sell nursing bras the size I'm going to need in maternity/baby stores. Its unbelievable - There has to be other women out there needing something bigger than a DD, what about the women who start at that size? Do I now I have to get them specially made ordered or something? HELP!!!

I think I have the best boyfriend ever. He got home from work last night to find me wrapped in a blanket on the couch, and proceeded to clean the kitchen and make a chicken Thai red curry dinner, then clean the kitchen again. Then he cleaned the bathroom. I didn't even ask. Last Friday night he took everything out of the fridge, cleaned the inside, and put it all back. I didn't even ask. This man keeps me grounded. I am a nervous wreck these days and he tells me it will all be okay. I complain, I cry, he tells me I'm beautiful. I really don't know where I'd be right now without him....
