Dec. 1, 2007

Well today I am 16 weeks pregnant, and boy have I had a hard time. The morning sickness (that lasts all day and all night) has not let up even a little. I already had to be admitted to the hospital once because I was so dehydrated. I also had a bladder infection, a UTI and a kidney infection all at the same time. It was not enjoyable at all.

I have my first appointment with my ob/gyn on Dec 5, and I can wait. All I really want to do is make an appoitment for my next ultrasound, so we can find out the sex. I feel like it is a girl, but my other half thinks it is a boy. I just want to know so badly!!!

I'm really hoping that the sickness will go away soon! Also, I just started having heartburn the last couple days, and I really don't want to experience that much more. It hurts quite a bit. I feel like my throat is literally on fire!! Sometimes I think that I am feeling movement, but then other times I think I"m probably just wishing I could feel movement and that my mind is playing tricks on me.

Dec. 5, 2007

Well we just saw the ob/gyn today and we now have to wait until Dec. 18 to find out the sex. I"m so excited to know what it is. And thankfully, it is right before Christmas, so hopefully we can get some early baby Christmas presents. I'm pretty sure now that I feel movement now. The ob told me today that the baby's comfortable position, is with his/her feet smooshed into my bladder. Trust me, it is very uncomfortable!!!!!

Go to the hospital!! ASAP!!!

xobeckyxo - Monday, 12 May
The color green is a big warning sign that there could be an infection. Also the water is not always clear, like if the baby has already passed meconium, and this is also a sign to go get checked right away. So all in all I think you should definitely go get checked out ASAP!!

Hey there, I tested + with both my other pregnancies. Really you dont have to worry just make sure they know that when you go into labour and they hook your IV to an antibiotic to run while your in labour and that takes care of things. I never had a problem and my 3 and 2 year old are great! I will prolly have a + test this time too, pretty inevitable when you have one they usually all are. Dont worry too much!

havinababyinmay - Saturday, 12 April
I'm being tested at my next app. for steb b. My dr. says 1 out of 3 women have it and it's really common. My sis had it and they gave her antibiotics and it was no big deal.I wouldn't worry too much about it!!

berbaby3 - Saturday, 12 April
I dont think it is a big deal, My sister in law had it 9 years ago AFTER she had the baby she needed to be on IV for 2 days after giving birth and she said she had a lot of belly pain. I think it totaly different when they know you have it, IV for a fue HR before you give birth. Dont worry about it.

marie - Saturday, 12 April
Just wanted to comment on the strep B test....................my OB said many people have this, we just have natural immunities built up to it that newborns do not have, so during labor if you tested positive, which MANY people do, you will be given an antibiotic to protect the baby. Reading all the info out there can help, but sometimes it just gives us new and more things to worry about. I know this first hand, this is baby number 5 for me and I still have found things to freak me out! I think you can trust your doc telling you it is not to worry about, at least I have been given the same info. Take care, best wishes!

cutiger96 - Saturday, 12 April
About the Strep B, I tested positive with my first child and am now pregnant with #3. When I went into labor, I had antibiotics through IV both times and will this time, too. My Drs did not make a big deal about any of it. It seemed pretty routine. I can't tell you much else, but I don't think there's much to worry about. There can be some pretty scary stuff out there on the internet. Not much help, I know, but hopefully it eases your mind some. Good luck!! =0)

My friend is making flower shaped rice crispy treats with sticks (like Lollipops) and ribbon for my shower. They will be in tin water pots and the guests can take them home when they left.

Not offended at all since now at almost 35 weeks I look like the broad side of a barn! I will have to post a new picture...it is amazing what a difference 3 weeks makes! You are only a week behind me so be prepared :)

marrisu - Saturday, 29 Mar
I had my shower today. I got small party favor bags from the party store and bought 6 packs of Simply Pleasures body butter and bath crystals for $7 at Kohls. Also put a couple of white chocolate truffles in. Everyone loved them!

Hi there. I had to take the 3 hour test (actually failed it) last weekend. They let me sleep on a recliner in between the hourly blood draws and the time actually went really quick. I didn't get sick or anything - just kind of enjoyed relaxing on the recliner. Let me know if you want more specifics... Oh - something they forgot to tell me - they make you give them a urine sample every hour when the take your blood - that wasn't easy!

snowwhite5thbabe - Friday, 14 Mar
I can't drink the sugar drink- it makes me feel really bad. I outright refused it. So my Dr. did a fasting blood sugar test (in the morning), and then I started testing my sugar at home. I was low blood sugar. I was feeling pretty gross by the time I had waited two hours past eating to test my sugar. I found out that I need to eat protein more regularly (every 2-3 hours),and whole grains for sustained energy.
God bless you and your little one!

PREGOMOMMY - Friday, 14 Mar
kela i know how you're feeling, i also failed my test and have to go monday to do the 3hr...i was very weak, and sick during that hour tho, so i can't imagine 3hrs. i'm also anemic and got put on iron pills that make me terribly sick=( well good luck!

snowwhite5thbabe - Friday, 7 Mar
Hi! Hope you can coast a little longer while baby matures!
I'm taking an iron that's a little easier on my stomach- ferrous citrate. The Dr. said I need to take less (3- 18 mg capsules a day), because it soaks into the body better. It's also not so constipating...
Hope this helps!
God bless you and your little one!

Almarie - Monday, 3 Mar
HI, Thank you for your message. I did contact the docter on Friday and he told me the same. Thanks. I do feel much better.

I would tell anyone that does not support you, to stay away from you. You don't need that. Pregnancy is real and different for everyone...I hope you feel better soon!:)

jen943 - Thursday, 21 Feb
Hey - Sorry to hear you have been so sick! It's not in your head; it happens to some moms. I have a friend who had nausea during her entire pregnancy, and then, on top of that, she had kidney stones when she went into labor.
I hope you are feeling better soon and the rest of your pregnancy goes better!

babybenneig - Thursday, 21 Feb
Hello! congrats on your pregnancy! its pretty amazing! I have to agree with how sick you've been! morning sickness is not fun and it has been a pain in the ass for me as well even up until now(28wks)! i have been in the hospital once on new years eve! i also haven't gained much either! hang in there! we'll get through this!

WOW, I remember when that happened to Chris Garrett. It was the same night that we moved into our house and we live very close to where it happened, so we heard a lot of sirens that night. That's too bad.
We are also suppose to get 10-15cm of snow....at least it'll be nice by the time we have our babies. :)
