*Welcome to my page!*

Hi! My name is Kelli and I am 21 years old. I have been married to my handsome husband Joe since September 28, 2007. We have three great furry cat children named Chloe, Bubba, and Kiki. Along with a lizard named Liam. This is our second pregnancy. I had a miscarriage on September 4, 2007.. and was 10 weeks along. We are more than excited again the second time around!

pregnancy week by week

~Jan.13~

I have been feeling nauseated with certain smells and have become very picky about what I eat. I also, have been experiencing a lot of lower back pain, which is more annoying then painful. Along with all that good stuff, I have been having minor cramps here and there, and then they vanish. Kind of keeps me on my toes, for the fear of miscarrying again. I am consistently hungry and go to the bathroom more then normal too. And we can't forget about the sore bbs! My first doctor's appointment was on January 9th. Our doctor thinks I might be around 10 weeks pregnant and the nurse said around 6 weeks, our doctor also said that he thinks this one is the charm... I sure hope so. Joe and I believe it to be the 6 weeks because my last period was November 27th, we think he must have thought that I said October 27th. That would be nice if I am farther along though! My first ultrasound is scheduled for January 15th, and I am really excited! We will then find out how far along I really am.. yay!

~Jan.15~

Today I had my first trimester ultrasound! I am 7 weeks and some odd days pregnant! The heartbeat was 142 BPM and I have an instinct that it might be a boy... but who knows? For some reason the lady doing the ultrasound didn't give me a picture.. but oh well. I was just too excited that I saw the heartbeat. I'm not sure when my next appointment is with my gynecologist.. So I will call him soon. That is all for now :D

~Jan.17~

My next doctor's appointment is on Feb. 7th with my gynecologist. I already have my next ultrasound appointment scheduled for Feb. 22nd and it will be the nuchal translucency screening. They will do an ultrasound to figure out the heart beat, gestational age, and the amount of fluid accumulated behind the baby's neck. After that I will have to have a blood test in correlation with the ultrasound. By the time of the ultrasound I will be around 12 weeks! I can't wait and I hope it goes by really fast. I have been having severe nausea and don't even want to look at food. Clear soda and crackers are my best friend right now lol. I sure hope this eases up soon enough.. so I can start eating normally.

~Jan.23~

Hey ladies! I am excited to be in my 8th week :D I hope the time goes by faster and faster! It seems like forever and a day for Februrary to come. Recent update on things... I ran out of my prescribed prenatal's and went to fill another prescription and found out that the pills are no longer available because they aren't making them anymore. So they told me that they are going to contact my doctor and order me different ones, in the mean time I have to use the store bought ones. It's been three days and I still haven't heard from the pharmacy. I've been feeling really tired and dragged down. Eating anything is really frustrating, because of the nausea, and I really can't wait for it to be over with in (hopefully) a few weeks. Every time I do eat, I find it easier to do so if I have white soda. I haven't been able to stomach drinking water very much either, which worries me. I hope everyone else is doing great ;D

~Feb.1~

Yay February is finally here! I got a call today from the doctor's office and they were reminding me that everything was looking good from the ultrasound. They also said that I am 9 weeks and 3 days today. I was all excited over being 8 weeks that I didn't have a chance to be excited over 9. It came so fast and will be over with in four days! Feb. 7th is just around the corner now. I can't wait to surpass 10 weeks, because that is when I had my miscarriage. My husband's birthday is tomorrow.. the big 2-6! I can't wait.. his mom is making us breakfast and taking us shopping. And for dinner his dad and step mom are making us dinner. For once I won't have to worry about what I'm going to have to eat.. because it's all planned out already! Nausea has been more under control lately. I still dread eating all the time though!! I have been really moody towards my husband... but when I think about my reasons they end up not making any sense. I absolutely hate fighting with him.. even if it's for a good reason lol!! Good luck to those that are TTC and for the mommies-to-be :D

~Feb.7~

Today I had my check-up! I now weigh 137.5 lbs.. gained 7 lbs. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat!! It was very fast and strong. The doctor says everything seems really great and I only have a 3% chance of miscarriage from now on. I am more than happy inside and out! My husband is super excited too. He couldn't be at the appointment but I told him all about it. He started calling his parents and told them how everything is going. We are going to go out to dinner to celebrate and because we don't have any food in the house right now haha!! I can't wait for my next appointment on Feb.22nd. I'll get to see my baby again! I am a huge ball of excited lol

~Feb.24~

Soo! On Feb. 22nd I had my ultrasound for the nuchal translucency screening. All went well, baby was too cute for words! Pretty much the whole time the baby had it's arm/hand up in the air.. it was pretty funny. Sometimes even looked like it was waving to us and I told my mom that the baby is praising the lord in there lol. During the ultrasound, the tech kept pushing really hard on my stomach to get the little babe to move.. it was so uncomfortable! So, she ended up telling me to just roll over on my sides to get it moving and it worked! I thought it was funny to see the baby just floating around after I rolled around. The ultrasound tech got some good pictures of what she needed and hopefully the tests come back great. It's so amazing how fast babies grow! The heartbeat was 160 BPM, pretty fast. I really just can't wait until I get to know the gender.. so I don't have to keep saying "baby", it's not a big deal, but will make it more personal.. I think. On a better note.. I don't have any nausea anymore! I'm just hungry all the time instead of not wanting to eat. Better than not eating! I hope everyone else is doing great too! I will keep you guys posted :D

~ Mar 20 ~

What up, my pregnant homies? Today Kelli and I (Joe) went to see our OB/GYN. Kelli has gained 9 lbs. so far in her pregnancy, which the doc said was right on the money (high-fives all around). The jerk in the lab, who had to take Kelli's blood was a little rough with the needle... He decided to stick the needle in her arm and then poke and prod around until he found the vein in Kelli's arm. This guy was really old, so, our assumption was that he was going to be an expert, but the only thing he was an expert in was causing pain and eventual bruises. The blood test was for Fetal Protein something or other was to check for holes in the spine of the bundle of love, which hopefully are nonexistent. We prefer solid spines up in here (woo woo). However, we love our baby, if it turns out to be a spineless jelly fish. No worries, only love, thats how we roll. The best news is, however, that we will be able to schedule our next ultrasound after we hear back about todays blood test. So, we are waiting for a call, and then the veil of mystery around the gender of our morsel will fall shortly thereafter. Excitement is overflowing, and the anticipation is killing us. Next on the agenda of parenthood and baby-baking, is to purchase our first gender based outfit. In two weeks, we will have a gender, and a name for our baby. I can't wait and Kelli...... Patience is not her strong suit, she may hold up the hospital and make an ultrasound tech tell her the gender any day now. Let us hope it does not come to this. Please pray for Kelli, her intentions are honest and good, but her patience is in the negative. Until next time, may your baby-baking be the sweetest time in your life, and may you enjoy every minute. - Joe (P.S. Baby's heartbeat was around 154 BPM)

~March 30~

On Friday, Joe felt the baby kick! I can feel the baby moving around mostly when I am laying on my back, which can be very uncomfortable for breathing haha. Otherwise I have been feeling the baby move every single day.. very nice and reassuring. Our gender scan is on April 1st! Two more days :D I was at first feeling that we were going to have a boy, but now Joe and I both feel that it's going to be a girl. A change of heart for us I guess. When we find out we are going to tell everyone and then go shopping for our first gender based outfit! I can't wait.. there is some really cute stuff out. My appointment is at 9:45 am and Joe doesn't get off of work until 2:00 pm.. that is going to kill me haha. Lately, I have been having a lot of garlic pickles, cranberry juice, and Mexican food. Yum! I could really go for some Mexican food now! I just don't get sick of it. Muscle cramps are killing me at the moment. Our doctor said to eat more banana's, which I have been. And then they just come right back.. of course. Other than that everything is going really well. I hope all of you are doing well too and I will keep you posted when we find out the gender!!!

~April 2~

Well.. It's official! Joe and I are having a BOY!!! Our first feelings were right. He wasn't shy about showing the goods either lol. His heartbeat was 149 BPM. Joe and I are going to name our son Milo.. the middle name Fender is up in the air right now. We both really like it.. but if we find a different name we like better we'll change it. I posted a few pics from the ultrasound.. if you wanna check them out :D Joe and I went to Target yesterday to buy our first BLUE BOY outfits/clothes, which was sooo nice! We would always peruse the baby section wanting to buy something pink or blue.. and now we know which to buy! It's kind of disappointing trying to find boy clothes that don't have sports on them.. I may sound really weird.. but we aren't into that.. at all! We found classic pooh outfits and this really cute jumper type outfit that has dinosaurs on it. I think that is all for now! Best wishes to you all!!

~April 18~

Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment. Unfortunately I won't be able to see my same doctor anymore because my insurance switched to a HMO. Oh well huge bummer. I have been having a lot of left-side rib pain along with back pain. I asked my doctor about the rib pain and he didn't say anything about it. He then realigned my back to releave the back pain, which seems to be good for now. Milo's heart beat was around 148-152 BPM. So far I have gained 19 LBS.. I feel like a house lol. We really can't wait for him to get here! Joe and I have been stocking up on diapers and wipes. Milo is definitely spoiled already.. we can't stop buying things for him all the time. For the past few days I have seen Milo kicking and moving around from the outside.. it puts a huge smile on my face! The other day Joe was watching for him to move around. When Milo finally did, Joe poked back and then Milo kicked in the same spot.. it was cute. The thing I most dislike about being pregnant is very minor. It is when I sneeze or cough and pee a little bit in my pants.. SOOO annoying!!! Sorry if that is TMI. Other than that everything seems to be fine. Good luck to everyone that is TTC and to all the Mommies and Mommies-to-be!!!

~June 11~

I have seen a new "doctor" for my past two appointments. She is a midwife, Laurie Jean is her name, and she is really awesome! I am really glad that my switch to a new place turned out better than expected. At my last appointment with her.. I was 27 weeks and a few days.. when she measured me I was measuring around 31 weeks. A whole month ahead!
Tuesday June 10th I had my 28 week ultrasound. Milo weighs 3 lbs 2 oz and is measuring 11 days ahead. His heart beat was 160 BPM. During the ultrasound they found that his kidney's were bigger than expected for his age. They are supposed to measure around .4 cm and his were .6 cm.. so, they are going to keep an eye on things and I have to go back for another ultrasound in four weeks. I am definitely concerned.. but, I guess it is common for boys to have larger kidney's.. so, hopefully it turns out to be normal. Milo is also head down and ready to go! Hopefully he doesn't have a different agenda and turn around at the last moment. According to the ultrasound my estimated due date changed to August 22, 2008.. but, they are going to keep my due date September 2, 2008. I was pretty bummed about that.. on the up side.. he'll come whenever he wants though! I can't wait to see what he looks like.. I'm in such suspense! Baby Dust to all and I hope things are going well for you ladies!!

~July 8~

Had my 32 week ultrasound today! Milo weighs 4 lbs 12 oz and his heart beat was 147 BPM. His kidney's are still a little bigger than normal.. So, I have to go back in another four weeks for another ultrasound. I got to see his face clearly today and I think he has Joe's mouth and my nose. The ultrasound tech pointed out his hair too. Milo was sticking his tongue out, grabbing his foot with his hand, wiggling his toes, and I could see his eyes moving and looking around. He sure is a cutie pie :D According to the ultrasound my estimated due date is August 24, 2008.. but, they are still keeping my original due date. I am so anxious to meet him! Milo's room is pretty much ready to go. Joe put together his classic pooh swing last night and we took his stroller/car seat out of the box. All we need is our baby boy! I'm so horrible with patience.. it drives me crazy! My last appointment with the midwife I was asking her if she could induce me.. she said that isn't going to happen lol.... I tried! I hope you ladies have more patience then I do! Wishing you all the best and that everything is going well :P

~July 14~

So! Last night our kitties Bubba and Chloe found our missing pet lizard, named Liam. Liam has been gone since July 2nd and ended up being between our cupboards and the dishwasher. Joe unbolted the dishwasher from the cupboards and counter top. Needless to say we caught him in a garbage can and is safely back in his cage! I was extremely overwhelmed and stressed out after that. I ended up having a lot of contractions around 10pm and decided to take a shower in case we had to go to the hospital. After the shower I called L&D and they said to drink 2 big glasses of water and time my contractions.. if I was having contractions 3-5 minutes apart in the next hour to call back. When I got off the phone I started to time my contractions and ended up having 5 that were between 3-5 minutes apart lasting 45 seconds, 55 seconds, a huge one 1 minute 26 seconds, and so on. After the 5th contraction my 6th didn't come for 21 minutes, 7th came 3 minutes later, and 8th came 6 minutes after that. By this time they were coming faster.. but, not lasting long at all. It was like a pulsing painful feeling. I decided since it was already 1 in the morning that I would go to bed. Once in bed, I had one huge last contraction.. and haven't had anymore since. I called a nurse on duty this morning so she could let my midwife know what happened last night. My next appointment is July 17th.. so, I'm not sure if she'll want to see me earlier. I am waiting for her phone call. What a crazy night!! I will update later when I have some new news!

~August 5~

Last Thursday, July 31st, I had my OB appointment. I am 1 cm dilated and Milo is at a -2 or -3.. I'm not sure what that means. I also had the strep b test done, which was nothing compared to being checked for dilation. I swear I thought she was going to deliver him herself by yanking him out.. it was very painful! I have my next appointment on Thursday, August 7th.

Today I had my 36 week ultrasound, my last ultrasound. Milo is weighing 6 lbs 13 oz and his heartbeat was 150 BPM. The doctor said that his kidney's are still "larger". The ultrasound tech said that he just has extra fluid in his kidneys because of his urethra and the pressure on the outside in the fluid.. it makes it harder for him to pee. She also said that when he is born it will be a lot easier for him to empty his kidneys and pee because there wont be any pressure outside of the womb. I just have to make sure I let Milo's doctor know about his kidneys after he is born so they can check on them. Milo has a round Winnie The Pooh belly and apple cheeks. He was also practicing his breathing in their and I could see his little chest moving up and down. I can't wait for him to come out soon!

~August 7~

Just got back from my weekly OB appointment and I am 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced! I asked my midwife if she recommended Castor oil and she said that my cervix would be really favorable for it. She also wanted me to hold off for a little while because she doesn't know if Milo's lungs are strong enough for him to be born now. I'm thinking he'll do just fine! On the way out of the office she said "I'll see you next week unless you are a Mom by then"... so, I think she knows he'll be here soon. He's almost 7 lbs and throughout the whole ultrasound he was practicing his breathing. I'm going to wait for Joe to come home from work at 3 pm and I think we will take the Castor oil then. We are hoping he'll be born on 8-8-8 :D I'm too super excited! Wish us luck and good luck to everyone else :)

~August 9~

August 7 at 6:30pm I took Castor oil. It honestly didn't taste that bad.. just kind of waxy like lip balm or something like that. I had been having irregular contractions since my appointment at 8:30 am and when I took the Castor oil it made them more regular. Of course I had the diarrhea.. but, only had to go to the bathroom 3 times. Anyway by 2:30am on August 8, my contractions were getting a lot worse and I started timing them. I ended up having 26 contractions in one hour and decided to call labor and delivery. They said that I should come in and they will be waiting for me. So, Joe and I got all ready to go.. I took a shower and we both ate a little something before we went. When we got there it was 5:00am and they wheeled me up to labor and delivery right away where we were put in a triage room. The awesome part about the triage room was that our view was off the flight for life helicopter! We were in the triage room for a few hours when they finally checked for dilation and they said I was 3 cm- 3.5 cm and they wanted my midwife to check me to make sure. She didn't end up coming until 9:00am and when she checked me I was 3 cm- 4 cm by then and they decided to admit me because I was officially in labor. Joe and I got moved to our birthing room and started walking around the halls to help with things. I was super starving and was put on a clear liquid diet while in the hospital.. yuck! After walking around we went back to our room and they put an i.v. in my hand for when I received the epidural. Shortly after that I met with the "drug dealer" anesthesiologist about the epidural and what to expect. Time rolled around and I was checked again at noon by my midwife and she said that I hadn't progressed and was still at 4 cm. Also, my contractions were spacing out by now too. So, she decided to let Joe and I go home and see what would happen and that I might have been back later if my labor picked up again. I was so frustrated, mad, sad, etc. We went out to eat and went home and took a huge nap. After that we went for a long walk and came home. When we came home after the walk I took a shower and by this time it's around 8:00pm and I started having a lot of mucus discharge. This morning (August 9) I called labor and delivery and they said that it was normal and to look out for leaking fluid, blood, or contractions and call back.

I know Milo wasn't meant to be born on 8-8-8.. but I hope he doesn't wait too much longer because I am in constant pelvic pain. If he doesn't come soonish Joe and I are going to try the Castor oil again on August 21st. I am such a crazy lady and want him to come out already!! Seriously I am almost half way to being 10 cm dilated, Milo should be around 7 lbs or more.. I just think he should come out now. LOL I'm psycho! Thanks for reading my rant. I hope everyone is having a better time with all of this pregnant blah!

Yeah been ok, just so over everything at the moment :( I hope I go into labor at 34 weeks. I had a shocking sleep last night my daughter got into bed with us and she is a bed HOG, I ended up getting into her bed in the middle of the night just so I could move, but now I feel crappy because it's just not the same as sleeping in your own bed. Oh well the joys...

bubsnum2 - Saturday, 19 July
Hi there, how's things??

hollyg - Friday, 18 July
Yeah, I miss him during the day too. I keep wanting to talk with him, but I know I can't. It's rough. I'm trying to keep busy, I've been painting a table, curtain rod, and a shelf. I'm hoping I can get all the paint off my hands! I should have worn gloves!

Thanks, I'll let you know what we find out.

Our nursery is almost done. In my mind. We should get flooring soon, but we've actually ordered nursery furniture, so we should get that soon.

Haven't even started packing the bag - don't have the bag or anything to put in it. I'm hoping to get some stuff from the shower, but we'll see... I hope people pay attention to our registries!!! We had that with our wedding too, got stuff we didn't really need. Time will tell! I would love to start packing the bag... I'm going to start getting mine ready soon, I finally bought a couple of nursing bras. I'm glad you are pretty much set, though! That must take a HUGE load off your mind...

Hope you are having a good day! TTYL!

hollyg - Friday, 18 July
Yeah, the left kidney has been larger. The right one is large, but not AS large as the left. I'll hopefully be scheduling my appointment with the specialist soon. I hope you have good results for your little one. I have another scheduled ultrasound August 4th, but may have another one when I see the specialist.

I'm 34 weeks now... I wish I could be done, but I don't want to go into labor when my husband isn't here!

Things are going okay. I was out shopping today and bought a bunch of stuff for the nursery. Now we just need the floor and a couple other things, but for the most part, it looks good. My husband gets back early Monday morning, but the hard thing is that I can't talk with him at all while he is gone. He left this morning and I already miss him. Sad, huh? We aren't newlyweds anymore!

How about you? Things all ready to go?

hollyg - Thursday, 17 July
Well, I just got the results from my last ultrasound. The left kidney is lareger, so they are sending me to a specialist. I know they will do another ultrasound, so we'll see what they say. I hope everything is okay...

HOw's your little guy?

carlybarleyx - Saturday, 12 July
No me either! They just said he's already 5lb which is quite good but he isnt very long, just chubby lol. Oh well, not alot we can do about it now lol.
xxx

hollyg - Tuesday, 8 July
Thanks for letting me know! I just had another ultrasound and was supposed to get the results yesterday, but they didn't send the measurements to my doctor. I told her what I'd seen on the screen during the ultrasound and she said if that's the case, she is sending me to a specialist. I'm still waiting to find out what is going on. Frustrating... I should have another ultrasound in 4 weeks if I don't go the the specialist. I asked what the ramification were to the baby if for some reason it was present after birth and was told that they could function normally, just be big, or they could be full of cist, not work right and need to be replaced (kidney transplant). Right now, my amniotic fluid levels are normal, so that means the baby is functioning right...

Thanks for keeping me posted! Good luck with your little one, keep me posted on details!
TTYL!

hollyg - Wednesday, 2 July
Thanks, Kelli. I guess I just keep wondering what is causing it. From May to June, the kidney's didn't grow. But the month before, they had doubled. Now, they've only grown a little over a mm. My doctor said that it usually turns out to be nothing, but it still makes me wonder. I wonder if it means I'm having a boy? We are keeping it a surprise, but I'm suspecting boy because of this problem... I get the actual results from the ultrasound and my next OB appointment on Monday...
Hope everything works out for you! Good luck!

pregos - Friday, 27 June
Breastfeeding is great.... I am not going to lie tho... it sucked at first. I would scream so loud when she would latch on and wake everyone up in my house... i got over the pain tho and now i can do many things while she is nursing. I also started pumping. Its gets way easier. It takes about a week but you will be fine. I hate those damn strech marks! They are still sneaking up on me now! ARRRRG!

pregos - Friday, 27 June
