Well, this is my second profile. My first one got deleted in the midst of all the changes going on with the site. :*( My hubby and I are expecting our first in just a few weeks, now. I've been with this site since around my 9th week, and it's been a pretty amazing journey to share with all these other mothers. I've learned a lot about hormonal women on here, too!! ;0) So, for now I'm just taking every day as it comes. Some days are good, some are bad but as a whole this experience has been great. I wish we didn't have to be so bland in the forums, but I guess when you are dealing with hormones, problems are bound to arise. See ya in there, ladies!! TTYL! XOXO
What a crazy couple of days! The ladies in the forum are really surprising to say the least... It makes me seriously wonder about the kids my baby will grow up with! EEK! Hahahaha! I've been doing a lot of reading and research about Western medicine and the way things work here in the U.S.A. One of the best aspects of our government is the freedom to choose, but really, who is exercising that choice when a doctor is using their influence of authority to control that decision and do what works best for them? I don't get it. I'm so proud to see other mothers who question these unnecessary and harmful "routine" practices. I feel like I'd be doing a disservice to mothers who are looking for unbiased information regarding their healthcare and that of their babies by not speaking my peace about it. The majority voice is an un- or undereducated group of people who are being lied to and manipulated by a healthcare system that's controlled by our government. Why do you think these mothers are so defensive? They've asked those same questions to their doctors and have been met by the same defensive answers. So they follow suit. Anyone who would question the authority of a doctor must be "stupid"...but really, REALLY, it is these mothers who, I believe, are acting irresponsibly by ignoring their instincts. And that would be to let nature take it's course by all means necessary. The ACOG is formally and forwardly bucking the "routine intervention" and "induction" trend - because that's what it is. A TREND. How many mother's gave birth unconsciously before that TREND was deemed medically unnecessary? How many more will have their beautiful, precious little one's forced from their wombs before they are ready by pumping the mothers full of synthetic hormones (which, btw, you can google to find as a cause of autism)? And we wonder why there are so many anxiety and mental disturbances and disorders in the U.S. Give your babies a chance. Let them decide what works best for them. Have faith in your little ones. If women didn't "feel like" being pregnant for 40 weeks, then maybe they should rethink having anymore kids. Don't make your child suffer for your impatience, the doctor's convenience, or any other medically unecessary act of irresponsibility. It's so empowering and exciting to know that I reside in a body that is capable and equipped to naturally, and safely bring life into this world, without the aid of anyone or anything. I'm sorry that some of these other mother's will never know joy and fulfillment on that level.
I just read your comment about you baby's schedule. Mine is the same way. I keep a log now and it's exactly like yours. I think we are just lucky!
