Monday, 6 October Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Monday, 30 June Thank you!! my G/B is full of stones and i have three attacks a week lately. sharra -
Wednesday, 28 May Salads and tofu are good choices. Do you eat meat? Lowfat meats are all good too-chicken, turkey, tuna- up to 8 oz a week. I have been eating a lot of Sorbet since the warmer weather- a good treat if you like ice cream. soy butter has been pretty good once in a while for a treat. Good luck. sharra -
Wednesday, 28 May I am sorry to hear about your pain. So, what is your diet like. I would stay away from dairy and high fat foods. Have you done that yet? I know it helped with me, but I never had attacks per say it was more like pain 24/7, which suggests that it could be IBS or a digestive problem. Did you see if you had sludge- which is a build up of thick bile.
If you can- I would look into accupuncture, many insurance cover it. I believed it helped me with the pain. If I was in pain in the middle of the night- I would take a perscribed pain medication that would help me get through the pain and would ease my stress. The bad thing is if you go to the hospital in pain, all they can do is set you up with a narcotic drip that is safe for pregnancy and let it pass. I will tell you, it is hard. I would try everything possible outside the traditional realm, because there is not a lot traditional medicine can do without putting you and baby at risk. Please let me know what you decide to do. Take care. sharra -
Tuesday, 20 May Hi, it is good you have no stones. what about sludge? Yes, my right side-under my ribcage hurt pretty much 24/7. Do you have attacks of pain or is it constant? I am sill taking omeprazol which is a pump inhibitor which nuetralizes acid in the stomace. I am now down to half dose at 20 mg. I have been pretty clear of constant pain for a while. I will get just twinges under ribcage.
Olsers, what I have researched are in the lower or upper part of stomace area. So, if it is on right side most likely the GB. It is hard because there are not too many tests you can take when prego.
I was fortunate, right when I became prego like within a week or two, I had an upper GI- I did not know I was prego, so I was able to rule out if it was an ulser, ect. I still worry about what the test did if any to the baby- but everything looks good so far.
I believe what has helped me was getting my stomace back to a health invironment- I take natural bacteria found in yougart, licorish with slippery elm bark, papaya enzymes, fish oil and cal mag. If you don't get an answer you like from a traditional doctor- naturalpaths are also an option. I know it is a lot of info and your condition may be diffrent than mine. Most doctors will agree if there are no stones or sludge don't pursue surgery because of the risks. Have you every had problems before pregnancy?
Let me know what you find out. What is your diet like? sharra -
Monday, 19 May Hi, sorry it took so long to get back with you. No, I did not get surgery. I did everything possible to not get it done. I did not have stones or slug. I hade a slow releasing gallbladder, so I saw two surgons and one said do it and one said no- there is too many risks. So, I went to a naturalpathic doctor and did accurpuncture and natural products and changed my diet- no high fats, increased fiber, ect. So far I am doing well.
Do you have stones?
I heard good and bad when getting the surgery done. So research all that you can, I think 24 weeks is the cut off. Let me know what you decide or what you are thinking. It is a hard decision to make. teresa262 -
Sunday, 18 May Everything went great. I was put under general anestesia, and had laproscopic. I was on a morphine pump for about 24 hours, and stayed on contraction monitors, but I did not have a single contraction. Baby has been great ever since. No side effects. I know that the further you the greater the risk, so if surgery is an option get it done now. Best wishes and keep me posted. Dirk -
