My Story...

My name is Kristen and I am a Special Education Teacher in New York. My husband, Mike and I got married on June 3, 2006 and we are expecting our first baby on Aug. 14, 2008. We were trying for a few months, but had given up hope that we were going to get pregnant. Maybe it just wasn't the right time, I thought so we decided to stop trying and that’s when we found out we were 4 weeks pregnant! :) We are both very excited, but it really hasn't hit us yet. The thought that there will be a baby here in a short while boggles my mind.

Wednesday, 30 Jan

I had my first trimester screening today to check for Down syndrome and Trisomy 13/18, but after 2 hours of an ultrasound I have to go back on Feb. 13th. The baby wouldn’t lie horizontally so the technician could measure the fluids. Mind you, my stubborn child stood on its head the entire time. I told my husband that if this is any indication on the baby’s personality, we are in big trouble J. The doctor ISN’T worried about anything, she said it is just a formality. Hopefully by the next appointment the baby will be tired of standing on its head. LOL!
