I am in the same boat as you hun. According to my last period I'm just over 40 weeks, but when I had my first ultrasound at 11 weeks the technician said the baby is actually only 10 weeks. So I've been using the technician's date up until I around 23 weeks when I had a scare and had to to to the hospital. The Doc on call there said that I'm actually measuring a week ahead. My OB doesn't seem to care though and has been using the technicians date, how annoying. I'm going in for a membrane sweep tomorrow if bubs doesn't decide to come out tonight. Hopefully that'll work, but if it doesn't Doc won't induce me until the 21st! I can't wait that long... I want him out now!!!

So I see you are from Toronto. I'm actually in Scarborough. If you don't mind me asking, what hospital are u delivering in?

jadeysmommy - Tuesday, 6 May
i have them too .. i got them with my daughters pregnancy and i was horrified i was only 15 so i really had no idea that would happen .. they fade away but never go away .. now im prego again and you can barely see them cuz my tummys already been stretched .. eventually ill get a tummy tuck though cuz someday i wanna get back in a 2 piece ..itll be fine congrats on your pregnancy

mercy - Saturday, 3 May
I can't believe your doctor is making you wait. Just go to the nearest hospital and tell them you feel contractions -they will induce you (trust).

Shan - Friday, 2 May
Nah, they aren't gross... and they will fade. You will be able to feel them still years from now, but they won't stay dark like that. Congrats on the pregnancy!!! Hope all goes great with the delivery of your precious son! God bless!

Shan - Friday, 2 May
Come on baby! Mama is ready for you to come on out!! Hope your baby comes soon, and all goes wonderfully!

Nezbit - Wednesday, 30 April
Yeah they do especially if they check me again because they say it dilates me and why in the world would they want to dilate me anymore since I am too early to have the baby. I do want to know if I have made progress, but not if it will make me dilate more.

Nezbit - Wednesday, 30 April
Hello I am from almost week 29. I am 1-2 cm dilated with a soft cervix already. My doctor said he doesn't want to check me too much because that causes more dilation. I think that is why some doctors wont check. I have been checked 5 times since week 26. I go to the doctor on the 1st and i do hope he checks me as i think I have dilated more. Then I go to my new doctor on the 5th and I am sure he will check me because I am a new patient even though he checked me at the hospital. I don't get it, they say it dilates me when they check me, but they keep checking.

Thanks for your message - I was able to find the EPO but couldn't find the raspberry leaf tea. I found plenty of Raspberry Teas - but none that said raspberry "LEAF" tea. Is that important?

milmom2be - Saturday, 26 April
Lol, my castoro il knowledge comes from the fact that I tried it... And b4 I did I made sure I did my research as I didn't want to endanger my baby.... So I just stayed reeeaaally hydrated. unfortunately one of the reasons it can work to send you into labor is by dehydrating and distressing the mother, so no workie for me.... And took 4ever to clean out the toilet..... Lol!

kelsul - Saturday, 26 April
i feel the same way. at the appt today they were talking induction.....really want to go on my own with no drugs....
and i get soooo sick of my family and friends asking me too. can't they talk about something else, since we are living this 24/7?
oh....they mean well. and soon they will stop asking. LOL

kelsul - Friday, 25 April
LOL, why do people have to ask such dumb questions? LOL

you have 4 days too?
man, i am uncomfortable. the dr said he has dropped and she can feel his head in there...but he's not out yet!!! gosh, i am starting to get a little impatient. plus it's hot out today.
i hope your delivery goes well :)

kelsul - Friday, 25 April
haha, how about:
you're still pregnant?
no i am not, i just loved keeping the 40 pounds, so i decided to maintain my baby weight.

milmom2be - Friday, 25 April
Quick comment~ castor oil does not have a nutritional value, and is not digested, so does not go into your blood and does not go to baby. It is like melted vaseline pretty much, and "slicks" it's way thru your intestines. The misconception about it causing a fetal bowel movement started because traditionally was only taken when a women was 41+ wks. The further overdue you are, the more likely baby will have that first bowel movement in the womb, and when far overdue women used castor oil and their babies had that movement it was wrongly associated with the oil. This is now known to be untrue, but many still subscribe to the old belief.... It may be that your doctor is just repeating things he was told yrs ago by his/her mentor and did not mean to give false info, may also be a way to scare you as doctors don't like it due to a low sucess rate and the very possible dehydration danger. Still need to use caution when using it, but baby won't poop...... Also, if you use it, look in your toilet after you've been intestinally sick, the oil comes back out just like it went in, and will float nicely on top of the toilet water! ICK!

i had my baby 4/21 check out my birth story pics coming soon!!!1

purpledaisy - Wednesday, 23 April
Thanks for your message
like you I wanted my little guy to pick his own due date, and to avoid c-section. As I was past 42 weeks (I did have two due dates though) they wanted to induce. I really felt that if he was not meant to come than the acupuncture wouldn't work anyway, but as it turned out he was fully cooked and ready! (It was nice to avoid the medical induction)
I wish you the best with your delivery!
Cheers

jujubee - Tuesday, 22 April
Hi, I think you should check your due date, it's not safe to have that baby in there for more than 42 weeks, you know??? Good luck!

mbyrd27 - Tuesday, 22 April
Hi there! In regards to your due date, did your Dr tell you how far along you are measuring? I wouldn't worry about pissing him off. This is your body and baby and you need to know! I ask my Dr everything even if I am questioning her I make her explain it to me. Call your Dr now!! Hope you are feeling well. I know I'm ready to have this stinker! Good luck!

njstewy - Tuesday, 22 April
that would be one big baby. .I have to go today in about an hour for another u/s to check they weight of my baby. .I asked him to guess the weight a couple of days ago and he said 5 1/2 to 6lbs so I guess that I might be having a small one but I guess that I'll find out

njstewy - Tuesday, 22 April
how many ultrasounds did you have? that could have been just how your baby is growing. .I kinda got scared a couple of weeks ago when I saw that my EDD was changed to may 5th. .but then I asked the nurse why it changed so much but then she looked at my chart and told me that my due date was still the same before. .so I would be too scared

conita5 - Tuesday, 22 April
i think that 8 minutes is defently enough time. i waited till they were 5 minutes apart and i was still there in labor for 36 hrs. but everyone is defferent. if you get a chance speak with your doc if not i think 8 minutes would be good. good luck and just think before we know it we will both be new moms...

aderyn3 - Tuesday, 22 April
I completely agree! I have never had surgery. The only time I have ever had stitches was when my first was born. I was diagnosed with gallstones in November, and I've decided to cut out fat rather than have surgery..it's healthier anyway! No one is cutting me open, either! lol

aderyn3 - Tuesday, 22 April
Thanks! It just makes me furious that women so nonchalantly let doctors fill them with all kinds of medications and do all sorts of unnecessary things out of convenience, when they spend their whole pregnancy worrying about eating lunch meat and walking past someone smoking a cigarette. I mean, come on! I personally would believe the Pitocin and autism link much more than the vaccine one, especially since I'm pretty sure the problem causing agent in vaccines has been removed for the most part and kids are still getting autism at an alarming rate...it makes you wonder! I was induced with my first (I was starting to swell and had some rising blood pressure), and I learned from it, and I won't do it again! I've since had 2 homebirths, and whenever this stubborn little bugger decides to finally bless us with its appearance, will be having my third. Unless the baby or I was in imminent danger of dying, you could not pay me enough money to go to a hospital and have a C-section or get induced! I do medical transcription, and it makes me sick the things I type every day. I don't think most people realize the problems that C-sections can cause. I've had full term babies have to be on ventilators in the NICU for weeks at a time because they've been delivered via C-section and all of the fluid wasn't squeezed out, like it was meant to be with giving birth naturally. I fully believe nature intended for us to deliver when the baby was ready through the part of the body that was intended for that sole purpose for a reason! Good luck to you, too! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your pregnancy and an easy delivery ("on time", right? lol!)

conita5 - Tuesday, 22 April
just wanted to try and help you feel better about the strep b. i had it with my last child and he is 5 yrs. old now and has never had a problem from it. my addvice for you is to work out a plan with your dr. on how far apart your contractions should be when you come in and stick to it so you can get those meds started. hope this helps make you feel a little better and that all is well. hugs to you and bump
