I didn't think it was painful but a lot of pressure. I would imagine that when your in labor and they are checking you it could be painful. The doctor I see is gentle and has a great bedside manner but they do have to get pretty far up there it seems to find what they are looking for :-P Not terrible but not something I'm looking forward to doing again either. Sorry if I'm confusing you but that's the best I can describe it

i loved our 3d 4d it was so cool i thought i might be wierded out but the next day i couldnt get our little girl out of my head her moving around sucking her fingers yawning sticking out her tongue it was just so neat... athough i do agree i cant wait to meet her in person!!!!

GB test meaning the group B strep test. It's a little swab with a Q-tip generally done around 34-36 weeks. Apparently having group B strep down there is very common in all woman and comes and goes on it's own with no harmful effects. What it could affect is the baby if exposed to it during delivery. It could (could being a big word) affect the baby's eyes as well as other things if it's not treated. If you test positive they simply give you an antibiotic while you are in labor. I don't know what causes it but I think it's a normal bacteria found in our girly parts but high traces of it "could" be dangerous to the baby if exposed during vaginal delivery. I do know that it is NOT any type of STD. That's my understanding from what I've gathered from my OB.

I had an appt today and they did the group B test and they were not going to check for dilation. I asked my doctor to check for my peace of mind and he had no problem especially since they were already down there. At this point I think it's very common for us preggo's to ask and I don't see a reason that the would say no.

If you request it they should, what kind of doctor doesn't listen to his patient. My doctor was going to check me at 24 weeks because of presure but I took his word and decided he knew best. :)
