We're all moved in! The move went really well, as far as moving goes!

I had an appointment with my OB/GYN yesterday as well as my pre-registration at the hospital I'll be delivering at. Dr said everything looks good, I'm measuring at 27 weeks, and have gained a total of about 15 pounds to date. Next up is figuring out what I want to do with Nash's room and get the ball rolling on that, as I have quite a few days off in the coming weeks. I don't want to do a theme, just colours, and I'm leaning towards blue, brown and beige. Any suggestions or cool ideas?! Anyways, not much else to report on for now! Hope this finds everyone in good health and spirits! Not too much longer to go now, ladies!

July 12, 2008

Well, had a bit of an interesting night last night. around 12:20am, laying in bed, I could feel braxton hicks contractions coming, but they were more uncomfortable then they had been before. I noticed that they were come right on top of each other, so I got up and told my sister-in-law (who was spending the night) that i was going to call the hospital and see if they think I should go in. I ended up calling TeleHealth (which, may I suggest, just SKIP altogether) and sat on the phone on hold or answering random questions for quite a while. She suggested that I go to the hospital, so I woke up my boyfriend to let him know, and my sister and I left. They got me in pretty quick, listened to Nash's heartbeat and asked me all the questions again. The Dr. came in and checked my cervix (which was where it was supposed to be - no change). By this time the contractions/cramps were a little further apart, but still coming. They told me they were going to send me to MacMaster hospital, which is where I will be delivering and is a bigger, better hospital (i live in a small town and there's nothing but small towns near us, so it was a small hospital i was at). They told me they were getting an ambulance to take me, then a few minutes later the Dr came in and asked my sister if she could just drive me. A little while later, the nurse came in and flat out told me that she doesn't feel comfortable NOT sending me in an ambulance, so I told her to then get me one, because she knows better than i do, and apparently has more sense than the Dr did!! They got the ambulance, loaded me up and off we went. We got to the other hospital about 45 minutes later and took me right up to L&D, got a urine sample and strapped me into the fetal monitor. It was neat to be able to sit there and hear Nash's heartbaet constantly. He was moving around all over the place (as usual) and everytime he moved we could hear it. My urine came back negative for a bladder infection, and so after that the Dr basically just told me they don't know why this was happening, checked my cervix again and it was still fine, so they said I could go home (don't go to work, which i was supposed to do) and just take it easy for a day or so, SO that's what I've been doing! It ended up being nothing, thank goodness, but I can't be too careful. I've never done any of this before, so I don't know! Everythings fine now, the cramps have died off and Nash is still kickin around in there.

Wow, did I wait long enough for this update?! It's been a crazy month I guess!! First off, my darling boyfriend bought us a house!! We get it July 18 and I couldn't be more excited!! It's not too far from either of our familys, which is great.

I went for my fetal ECG (or EKG for the American readers!) this morning. I was told that it was done vaginally, so, needless to say, I wasn't exactly looking forward to it! A nice surprise though - it was like a regular ultrasound, only the Pediatric Cardiologist does it, not an ultrasound tech. I told her before she started that he's a wild one and that the last ultrasound tech had a hard time keeping track of him, but I don't think she really took me seriously!! She got the point though! He was way down low, then curled up in a ball, then of course he starts kicking at the wand thingy! She laughed and said "I don't think he wants me here!" I guess normally these things take an hour, but I was outta there after 40 minutes because, thankfully, she didn't find ANYTHING out of the ordinary! WOOHOO!

So, next is my regular bi-monthly appointment with the OB/GYN and my pre-registry at the hospital. We'll be in the house by then, so life will probably seem a bit more stressful!! Hope this finds everyone well, and of course the babes!

Take care,

Leah

IT'S A BOY!!

Sooo.. I went for my ultrasound last Friday, and am only now finding time to write about it! Unfortunately, my boyfriend couldn't come with me, so my mom and one of my girlfriends came. I went in first and was in there for about 45 minutes, trying to crank my head to see whatever I could! I noticed that when the tech was doing the heart stuff, he seemed to be taking a little longer on it, but I figured, Hey, he's just doing his job. My baby was moving ALL over the place for this guy! At one point he had me roll over onto my side to try to get the baby in a better position - didn't last long though!! He called my baby "Happy Feet".. maybe he'll be a dancer like Mommy! So he finally finished up and said he was just going to take the results to the Dr and then he'd get my mom and my girlfriend to come in. A few minutes later he returned and said he needed to get one more thing on the heart, so I kind of started to worry, but really had to reason to at this point, I was just excited to get to see my baby again, and have my mom there to see "it" too! So he came back and this time he had my mom and Vic with him. My mom was so excited to see her first grandbaby on the screen!! She had a bit of a hard time making out what everything was, so he was explaining it all to her. I had told him earlier that we wanted to find out the sex, so he started going from the head down, showing us what everything was. When he got to the arms, all of a sudden babys hand is RIGHT there in front.. five fingers spread wide apart.. it was very cool! SO he keeps moving down and shows us his strong legs, then gets between them and points out a scrotum and a penis! I KNEW IT!! My baby boy.. So inredible.

So because Jerret couldn't be there, on my way home I stopped at Bonnie Togs and grabbed a little hat that says "Thank heaven for little boys" and wrapped it up. Jerret met me at home and I had him open it. he was VERY excited! He's been saying it's a boy right from the start. Right after that he was rushing me to get ready to go where we were going because he wanted to tell everybody! It was cute.. he's very proud.

About the heart thing.. They say he's got an extra little beat in there every once in a while, so we have to go for an Echo. I'm told not to worry at all about it, it's common in fetal heartbeats. I'm doing as they say and not worrying because I tend to over react sometimes!

May 22, 2008

I guess we'll find out tomorrow!! I'll let you all know!

May 15th, 2008

Had my first visit with my OB/GYN a few days ago. Nothing too exciting - although i did get to hear the heartbeat again, which always puts a goofy grin on my face! He informed me that I should have another u/s in the coming weeks, as there was more they needed to see (routine things, nothing to be worried about). It is booked for Friday the 23rd, and my boyfriend and I couldn't be more excited! We can't wait to see what we're having!

Personally, I've been feeling really good lately. I have noticed, though, that occasionally, when I'm eating, if I leave something in my mouth too long, I start to feel nauseous and have to hurry up and swallow it before it makes me sick! Can anybody relate to that?! Emotionally, I've been good. Got through the uber-emotional weeks with no body counts (I'm sure my boyfriend is greatful that it's over!) and am generally in a good mood now. We're trying to find a house, and J's finally starting to get moving with the bank business of it and all that fun stuff, so hopefully we start looking for REAL..

I've been feeling Baby kick more lately, and it's at the point now where I think "I KNOW that's the baby" instead of "I think I may have just felt it"...stops me in my tracks everytime!

Anyways, there's my update! Hope everybody's doing fantastic and all the little Beans are too!

Hey! Thanks for stopping by!

My name is Leah, and I'm currently 15 weeks into my pregnancy! Everything has been pretty good so far. I had some nausea in the beginning, but by 13 weeks (to the day!) it disappeared. Now my only problems are my hair growing too fast and those pesky things you call pimples! Those are new to me too! Anyways, any updates, I'll post 'em for anyone who wants to keep updated!

How`s my pregnancy doing?

hi i was in hospital the other day with the same thing i was having proper labour contractions, and they did all that checked me for everything, my cervix was closed ryan was moving all over the place and his heart beat was fine, they gave me pethadin to get some rest for a while then told me that its stress mixed with bh, they said when your stressed it does bring on labour contractions and im lucky it didnt turn into delivery which it would have done if i didnt go in, so dont worry your not the only one, and it is better to be safe than sorry. Well done for acting so fast your better off sometimes you dont know what the hell your bodys up too. take care darling and take it easy xxxxxx. and let me know how your doing

KellysBabyBelly - Sunday, 13 July
You are a good momma for going to the hospital in the first place! A lot of girls on here don't right away and it concerns me so much, better to be safe than sorry. Glad everything is ok with you and baby.

Hi, I'm on my 4th baby and every pregnacey has been so different for me. The braxton contractions i'm getting with this baby are very strange though. it is like they are contracting my bladder area but not my whole womb as they have done in the past! They haven't been pain full at all but a little uncomfortable at times. I see my midwife in about a week and a bit so I was going to wait till I see her to ask her if it is normal.
With my first pregnacey I got an infection which triggered early labour but they were able to controle it and stop the labour, I guess that is prob one of the things they though might have been affecting you?
Hope things are all ok for you now? TC Em x

redmum - Thursday, 10 July
i'm getting some crazy kicking action too. it seems very frequent and can really be seen from the outside, such bizarre sensations!

Navy0Wife - Thursday, 10 July
I am getting kicked like crazy too. I don't particularly like it either. He kicks a lot at night when I am trying to go to sleep. When he is not kicking it feels like he is stabbing me with his foot, knee or elbow OR using my bladder as a trampoline. Can't wait for this to be over!

That's a good point, I guess I was just afraid of registering for stuff while it's summer and then those things being out of season or nearly out of stock by the time I have the baby. But like you said, I can always change it, I think with Babies R'Us you can even make changes online. So I decided to go register for the major stuff now and add other things as I get closer to the due date.
Thanks for the comment!

Hey!
How are you?! First of all I love the name Nash - how does it go with the last name?? It's different and cute for a child, but can also be a man's name too! I say go for it!! Did you get any further in your registry?? I have done pretty well with mine. We are getting close to sending out the invitations so I should probably review it once more. I am trying to register for a ton of stuff cause we have a ton of people coming to the shower...I didn't have a bridal shower last year so my family is making up for it now! We are decorating with Classic Pooh for the nursery - my husband and I both had it when we were babies so we thought it would be fitting... going to paint the walls a darker pastel green and light pastel yellow. The woodwork will all be white. We know what furniture we'd like but haven't ordered it yet...but thats as far as we've gotten.
I've been feeling very well. Hayden moves like craxy a couple times a day and then usually when I'm trying to go to sleep... I'm still not allowed to exercise or anything...but I'm getting used to that by now - I can only imagine how bad of shape I'm going to be in after the baby comes - after no exercise for 5 months! Last appointment they saw some contraction activity but the cervix looked better than last time and Hayden is either a giant or they have my due date wrong! I'm assuming its the due date since my husband is 6'1 and I'm 5'5... I've got a lovely array of maternity clothes now, but hate maternity jeans! I decided to go buy the jeans I love in bigger sizes and we'll see how long that works! I've added new pics - a 3D pic of Hayden and 22 week pics of me. I love the 3D ones - they make it so real...watching him move around like that inside you. I could feel him move and then we'd see it on the screen and so I'd laugh and the image would bounce all around - it was quite comical.
So tell me what else is new with you. I know you've got some appts coming up - you excited? Feeling good? Getting things ready for the house? Our friends just bought a house and they get they keys the 27th of this month - they've been buying dishes, furniture, linens and all that fun stuff. When I moved in with my husband he already had a house and it was filled so I didn't really get to experience all that...so ENJOY!!
Have a good one!
Kris

I can't imagine how excited you are to move in to your new home with your man and starting a family... you are a lucky girl! How are you feeling? When's the next appt? Baby moving lots? I've got swelly ankles but feeling good other than that! I go to the doctor tomorrow to get the update on my cervix - cross your fingers! Are you having a shower?
Talk to you later!
Kris

rathi - Wednesday, 11 June
ur guess was right dear...I am having a lil girl

kristinjazz - Wednesday, 11 June
How exciting!! Congratulations!! When's the big move?

kristinjazz - Thursday, 5 June
Hey!
I have the same issue going on! We have our master bedroom/bath on the first floor and nursery upstairs. I've decided on the bassinet idea in our bedroom and that way when the baby gets up I can go into the living room (right outside the bedroom) and nurse and watch tv and get something out of the kitchen.... I think that is much better than being upstairs and far away from all those things - what happens if you start bottle feeding and everything you need is downstairs?! At least that has where my thought process has been taking me... Stairs are not good right after you've had a c-section anyways (hopefully you don't)...
You feeling much movement? I've got a very active child already - makes me nervous for the months to come You need a new belly pic! I've got to get one on here too. Seems like I've changed ALOT since last week!
Have a good day!
Kris

danahlovesdoug - Thursday, 5 June
Ok I have a suggestion on your bedroom dilema. Right after you have the baby the last thing your going to want to do is even leave your room. With my previous pregnancys I set up the baby nursery but then I also set up a bedside crib/ bassanet in my room. Trust me you do not want to have to travel far right after giving birth also newborns have the most irritating sleeping schedual ever lol.
