Hi, my name is Lesley. I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 16, 1970 but was raised in Toronto, Canada from 1972 on. In 2002, the most wonderful man talked his way into my life. Why do I say talked? Because he was in Greece and I was in Canada! I was working in marketing/advertising and was thinking about branching out on my own. A supplier contact knew this was my plan and had a relative in Greece who wanted to launch a product in Canada. Not wanting to pay Agency prices, he hooked me up with them and the only English speaking contact was the graphic artist, Lambros. Fast forward 6 months and I finally figured out that this campaign had died but Lambros was still emailing, still calling and BAM - it literally exploded before my eyes - he was interested in ME which is why he kept in contact! On October 14th, he came to visit me in Toronto and we knew then that we were meant to be together. Our hearts were ripped out when he left to go home 9 days later, but I promised to be with him for New Year's Eve. And I was!

It was at that time that we decided, to give us a fair chance, someone has to move! And me having EU status having been born in the UK, was the easiest solution. So...I sold my house, quit my job, packed up my life and moved to Greece in March 2003. Fast forward another 5 years...we just got married in March 2008 although we tried desparately to make it happen while my parents and sister were visiting from Canada during Christmas 2007. And in February, we received the BEST wedding gift ever. We are pregnant!!

I am turning 38 on June 16th and have waited many years for the news we received in February. We couldn't be happier and pregnancy has been a true blessing and breeze up till now. I'm 1/2 way there and hope the last 1/2 is just as easy. We are having a 3D u/s on June 17th and hoping that our little one will give mommy her birthday present by letting us see if this is a little prince or princess. My instinct from the beginning has been a little prince - we are about to find out! If not on the 17th then...we will just have to wait till October 20th!

UPDATE: ISABELLA KATERINA ARRIVED ON OCTOBER 14TH - 3.4 KG AND 50 CM

Hey girl! I tried to send you a message a month ago or so but this site was giving me grief as always! I would type it, send it, and it wouldn't show up on your page! =( I tried for like 3 days I just saved and copied...grrrrr... lol, I eventually gave up for a bit. I know what you mean, Annabella keeps me busy every second! It's very tiring isn't it?? But GREAT I love her so much she's very entertaining...Isabella is getting so big and beautiful! Isn't it crazy how big they are?? I was looking at her newborn pics, even her pics of when she was like 6 months and was like WHOA I can't believe how much she's grown in just a few months! Her teeth and all... molars are coming in right now so she's been struggling with that, can't wait until they are all in so she's not having to deal with that pain anymore. Thanks for the congrats! It's been kind of tough with the whole nursing thing...well mostly at night because my nipples are really sensitive right now so they are a little sore! And from her teething she's had trouble sleeping so she's been nursing alot through the night and I have trouble trying to get comfy..I'm scared for when I really start to get big I hope there's still room for both of us..and another HUGE fear I am dealing with is trying to make sure that whichever hospital I have the next baby at, they are cool with Annabella being there with me, because I am totally freaking out that I won't have her weaned in time (and I don't want to FORCE it, ya know? just encourage it...which doesn't seem to be doing much right now)and I am scared that they will say she can't be there because of there "Visitors 8-8:30" policy... One hospital I talked to was already like " Well your going to need time with your new baby,..if she's having a hard time with dad he could always come and you could see her in the waiting room then he would have to take her back home" I'm like wtf that's crap! Why should I have to neglect her needs because of baby 2, ya know? They aren't understanding of the whole nursing co sleeping thing.. Grr.. sorrry to vent that's just been on my mind and I know we are very similar in our parenting ways so I had to share thanks! lol =P How are you two doing?? Hey Ladies, I'm at the hospital. The did 2 doses of the gel last night and guess what?!?! It worked- a little. I dilated to 2cm!!! Woopie! Next step is to break my water!

*They don't think my Grandpa will make it through the weekend My other grandma fell once again She really hurt her hip bad this time. She is on bed rest. i am soo thankful we got to see them, i wish we lived closer. ---

It's ok...I just feel bad enough that I have to give her formula as it is...I feel so guilty putting that crap down her neck when I wouldn't drink it myself. A HV (health visitor) is a bit like a pediatrician I suppose.

The Dr couldn;t find anything physically wrong with her (as in a heart murmer) but was concerned about the weight loss...it is pretty scary to see her so small, especially as she was gaining weight perfectly for the first few weeks of life.

I know what you mean about people putting rice in bottles etc, it annoys me too! My mother-in-law wanted me to do just that! I almost fell out with her over it! Lol.

Quick Update: Yes, I'm still pregnant. Went to doctor's today and he thinks my heart-shaped uterus + long cervix is why I can't progress but, I want to give mother nature a chance- I told him I didn't want to induce again (too painful

). He said that's fine for now as long as my blood pressure remains good and if she has enough fluid. So, we did an u/s and yes, she has plenty of fluid and hasn't really dropped much but, is in the position to come out. The u/s tech said she has lot of hair! And, that she's not too, too big. The doc. said if baby isn't here by Wed. then, we must induce again and if that doesn't work... c-section (which I'm totally OK with) Tonight's inducing try: bouncing on gym ball for hours {and I'm NOT kidding}

Thanks so much for your opinion, but I'm not stupid! I wouldn't deam of giving my baby solids...I tried breastfeeding more, offered her a feed every two hours and she still didn't gain weight. The HV told me to give her formula as well as breast milk because she's fallen right off the chart...she's well below the bottom centile and considered dangerously underweight. x
