Hi, my name is Lesley. I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 16, 1970 but was raised in Toronto, Canada from 1972 on. In 2002, the most wonderful man talked his way into my life. Why do I say talked? Because he was in Greece and I was in Canada! I was working in marketing/advertising and was thinking about branching out on my own. A supplier contact knew this was my plan and had a relative in Greece who wanted to launch a product in Canada. Not wanting to pay Agency prices, he hooked me up with them and the only English speaking contact was the graphic artist, Lambros. Fast forward 6 months and I finally figured out that this campaign had died but Lambros was still emailing, still calling and BAM - it literally exploded before my eyes - he was interested in ME which is why he kept in contact! On October 14th, he came to visit me in Toronto and we knew then that we were meant to be together. Our hearts were ripped out when he left to go home 9 days later, but I promised to be with him for New Year's Eve. And I was!

It was at that time that we decided, to give us a fair chance, someone has to move! And me having EU status having been born in the UK, was the easiest solution. So...I sold my house, quit my job, packed up my life and moved to Greece in March 2003. Fast forward another 5 years...we just got married in March 2008 and in February 2008, we received the BEST wedding gift ever. We were pregnant!! This itself was such a miracle as I was told in my mid-20s, I would never conceive on my own. And here I was, almost 15 years later - pregnant - without medical intervention! This baby was a miracle as far as I was concerned!

Isabella Katerina's original due date was October 20th, but she arrived on October 14, 2008 - exactly 6 years to the date that her daddy and I first met!! Ironic? I think so!!! She weighed 3.4 kg and was 50 cm long. My labour was relatively easy although we almost lost her twice as her heart rate dropped from 160 to 60 twice! To this day, I can still hear the monitor that was her heartbeat - such a scary sound. My dr finally made me take the epidural and Isabella was fine from that point on! It seemed that I went from 3 cm to 9 cm in a matter of 5 minutes - and I finally pushed her out at 5:05pm - again - ironic because that was the time I picked up her daddy from the airport 6 years prior!!! She was just meant to be!
