My name is Emily. I am 21, and live in a small town. I very recently (yesterday, May 4th) took 2 pregnancy tests, which both turned out positive... to my knowledge at least. I work as a dog groomer, which is fun, but stressful at the same time. My boyfriend Chris and I are very excited about the baby coming! We're trying to get our finances together and buy a house, trade in my truck for a family car, and all the other stuff that comes with a baby! We'll manage I'm sure. Every time Chris leaves or I leave, he touches my belly and says "bye baby! I love you!" It's so cute! He and I have our differences, but we're in it for the same things, I think he just needs to grow up a little and realize he's NOT a child anymore, he's having one!

I told my parents today; well, actually my mom guessed. I told my dad though. They both think we should have gotten married first, but what can I do now? I think Chris is pretty stressed out about it. I am too. I feel bad because he's going to have to pay for everything for at least 3 months. If I had it my way, I'd be a stay-at-home mom for a lot longer. I just hope everything goes good. Chris wants to buy a house before the baby comes. I don't think we can afford that. I think it would be a lot smarter to live in an apartment for a year or so and save up, then buy a house. I don't think he can save up enough money for the house and the baby to be doing both at the same time. You need thousands of dollars to put down on a house. I'm sure by now the lady that I was talking about the apartment to has already rented it to someone else. Thanks to Chris, who wanted to wait and find a house... There are so many things I have to do to get ready for this baby! Not all financial either. I have to work on my body too to make sure it can handle the next 6 months.

I just got done with my first ultrasound! My baby is healthy and the right size! They have all their fingers and toes, and all that good stuff! Just wanted to update quick. I will add the ultrasound pictures later, I'm tired now and am going to go take a nap.

Ok, so I'm done with my nap now! My first ultrasound was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better person to do it. She was so nice and she explained what everything meant. I ask a lot of questions and she didn't seem to mind! The heart beat was about 162, I'm not sure if the "stats" say if that means it's a boy or a girl, but now that I know it's healthy, I'd like to keep it that way, and I'd prefer a girl! Although, if I have a boy, I will be just fine with that too!!! I'll just have to try again soon to get a girl!

So it's my 21st birthday today! YAY! But that's not what I'm writing about. Last night I had a dream that my baby was born, and a couple days later, it could sit up on it's own, never cried, and barely ever pooped! Also, it would reach for things, like a bunny, so I said "that's a bunny" and it (wasn't sure what it was, maybe a boy??) said "bunny"! I thought that was a pretty cool dream! Maybe it means I'll get a good, calm child who learns easy! I dunno, maybe that's just what I'm hoping for! All I know is that I'm super excited. Next Friday is the beginning of my 5th month. I honestly won't care whether it's a boy or girl anymore. I really want a girl, but we can always try again! I want more than one anyway!

We BOTH went in for the ultrasound today... It's a GIRL!!! We are so excited! My doctor says she's perfectly healthy! I'm so happy!
