Samuel & I have been married for almost 8 years. This is our first child, & we are very excited!!! It's a Boy, so please welcome to my family....

LUCAS DADE

This is my little bean at 6.5 weeks. He's growing perfectly & has a strong, healthy heartbeat at 121 bpm. Click the play button to see his little heart beating!!!!

Here is a great profile picture at 12.5 weeks.

I didn't know we could find out this soon (12.5 weeks), but it's a boy!!!!!!

Here at 16.5 weeks, he has his mommy's nose & daddy's lips! His spine is just beautiful & he's waving to the world. Doc says he's about 8 inches long & weighs 5 ounces. He's absolutely perfect!!!!!!

As my doctor notes, is there any question to what the gender is at 16.5 weeks? I don't think so. It's definitely a boy!!!!

Hi,

my son had surgery when he was 3 weeks old. He had to be put to sleep too. It went very well, he was mostly sleeping for about 24 hours after the surgery. Don't worry, doctors know what they are doing these days. It will be fine.

I totally understand. We'll be there to give you support.

My first child has had a couple of surgeries. He had one when he was about 5 weeks old (and he was a premie weighing only 2 lbs 3 oz at birth). Also, he had another surgery when he was about a year old. Everything should be fine. It is definately scary to have your baby go under, but if they can do it on a 3 .5 pound premie, I'm sure your little guy will be fine. Keep your head up.

awww poor little guy. I am sure everything will go just fine! How long does he need to stay in the hospital?

jesslf - Wednesday, 23 July

hey there... You can do it either way... I have done both and find both ways easy... fresh breast milk is best... and I have literaly (sp?) sqeezed the milk into a cup to add to the food before (lol) and it is already warm... so ... no heating required. (LOL)... so I think I would add it later... but like I said.. either way is fine!!! : )

hey there.. your not bother at all.. I love when other mothers decide to make food. lets say I make sweet potatoes... I will boil then freeze.. in ice cube trays.. then when I need one i just take out a cube... you can do this with all the baby food... except bananas.. I just mash those with a fork and feed it to them when needed .... fresh.. So you can make several types of food in one day.. and freeze it..into cubes and then you just have to thaw!!! they only eat a little bit of the cube anyways. so there is no waste.. and when they get older you just thaw more cubes!! It is fun to make the food , and more cost friendly!! I hope this helps you !!!

Hi! I read on the forum that you ordered the amby bed for your son. Could you please let me know how it works for him. My daughter is an awful sleeper and has reflux as well. She only really sleeps well in her swing or car seat. I would love to order the bed, it's just that I don't want to spend the money if Mia doesn't like it.

JenO - Monday, 7 July
I am so glad to here that he is doing better. Owen is doing pretty good. His reflux and spitting up also seem to be doing pretty good. He is also learning how to put himself to sleep at night in his crib so that is good...although he did cry for a bit last night before he went to sleep.

JenO - Saturday, 5 July
How is Lucas doing? Is he sleeping in his crib? Has he started medication for reflux?

breezee - Wednesday, 2 July
No, she just cries all day, no matter how much she has eaten or slept or what position she is in, occasionally she will stop fussing for about 5 or so minutes after I swaddle her, but other than that she cries, oh yes, and of course when she is on the breast she is not fussing either, and won't take a pacifier.

JenO - Tuesday, 1 July
That is exciting!!! How did it end??? Did he fall asleep?

JenO - Monday, 30 June
wow that is a tough one! He may have silent reflux. Did the dr. offer any meds to try to see if it helps?

mummykris - Monday, 30 June
Have you tried using the crib for naps? I did this for about 2 weeks starting at 4 months. I also had him play in his crib a little to get used to it, and added his favorite toy (only for the crib). After about 2 weeks he was finally better at going in the crib at night. Good luck, I hope it improves!

JenO - Monday, 30 June
I am sure that you have had this checked out but I thought I would mention it anyway...is there a medical reason why he doesn't like to be flat?? reflux or something else maybe? I hear ya on the crying for an hour...Owen does the same thing if we try to get him to sleep on his own!

KristyC - Thursday, 26 June
I am actually releived to hear that you have the same problem! My son just turned 5months and yesterday was his first night sleeping in his crib! He slept in his swing at night too because he had acid reflux and needed to sit up after he eats. I told myself he will be in his crib by 5 months so I put him in his crib with his mobile on, give him his pacifier and I turn on the vacuum cleaner outside of his bedroom door. The vaccuum helps him sleep and he goes to sleep in 20-30 mins. I just keep coming in and putting the pacifier back in his mouth after he spits it out. It's so hard to get him to sleep without the motion of the swing. Good luck to you!
