Hi - i'm Leigh, 30 years old, live in London and pregnant with my first child.
It pretty much happened the first time we tried which really surprised me - since I was convinced I'd have problems (i used to call it my 'intuition' - but now i realise it was just plain old fashioned paranoia!)
My husband Miles and I got married in June 2006 - and this is really something special for us. We lived in melbourne for 3 years and came home with the intention of starting a family...
But - its all good and i'm feeling really well. Only nausea - but no actual sickness. My bbs have gotten big - which has been the biggest bonus :-)
27/12/7 Update~~~
Well Christmas was good - despite being unable to drink champagne (my fave tipple!) Weird to think this time nect year there will be a baby in the family...its been so long!
I'm definitely feeling on the lardy side, far too many chocolates so will need to go back to being 'good and healthy in 08'... Cant wait for my 3rd scan - 21st Jan...

Thanks for your message. Being new and not all that good with techno things it is nice to feel a part of it all! Guess working in IT you mustn't have that problem!
Regime for weight loss...no more giant Toblerones and work towards a goal. I am due in July but have a wedding in Oz in October that I plan to go to but won't book ticket yet just in case any probs. I am always better with a goal..I am a member of a gym and so will try to start when allowed back after the event and try to currently go 2 x a week until I can't waddle up there anymore. I pretty much think... keep active for as long as you possibly can, breastfeed if possible and after 'the arrival' take off together and walk everywhere.
The washboard stomach will be yours once more ( saw your pics and wishing I had let partner take some progressive snaps).

I know...so funny, but to be honest, I didn't look like that before...I have gained 19 pounds, so I'm not doing to bad, but feel like a heifer...oh well. Goood luck to you too. THanks for the commiseration.

Hello! Yes I am also feeling like my tummy is being streched and I dont know about you, but it is the oddest feeling...lol...then the thought came to mind oh no more strech marks..I have been putting the cocoa butter on like crazy. Have a wonderful night!!!

Haha! Yes, I know exactly what you mean. Just when I start to feel a bit down about my ever-morphing body though, something happens. Like a kick, or a song on the radio, or a Dr's apmt that is full of good news and strong heartbeats. Suddenly it is all okay with me again! You caught me on one of those high days. Last week I finally packed all of my clothes away knowing it would be at least 9 more months (allowing some time after the birth) before I could fit in to them again. Not a very fun activity. But she is getting so big, and it is so clearly a pregnant belly that now I am just proud of her for her will to live! Don't worry, when you visualize a goal you make it happen and we will get our bodies back!!

I'm assigned to 'limited duty' which basically means not firefighting. I'm actually in a Leadership Captains Academy this week and next so I'm sitting in class. I am assigned to the training division now so I'm still active just not put in any dangerous situations. I need to try to find a yoga class, I need to stretch. I have woken up the past two nights with leg cramps, no fun!

Haha. Ready your post, and it is kind of funny because hey were probably all jealous of you looking a size that is within reason. But I definitely know what you mean. Wouldn't it be nice to be so far along that you could go any day and know baby would be okay? A nursery that was ready to go, and a due date right around the corner! It will be here so soon though!

Yeah I can feel some changes this week. My husband just called me fatso! In a loving way of course, he has been saying for a while that he can't wait to rub my big fat belly. I think I wil be looking pregnant in the next week or so.

Yeah, my hubby is having beers right now while we are watching football, I want one. It's all for a good cause though, Right! I have been able to stay in the same bras so far because I was just a small B before the baby, now I just fill my regular bras completely. I'm sure I'll still get a little bigger though. My Husband has to work New Years so I'll most likely just sleep :)

Ohh good! Sometimes I feel too big for 17 weeks! And then sometimes, looking at other pictures of other women that are as far along as I am, I feel so small! So that's good that I'm not alone :) How has it been going for you so far? Have you felt the baby move yet?!

No you arent vain, I feel the same way. Its like as women we try to keep a comfortable weight, and pregnancy changes you so much, and it is a hard thing to deal with. I do know that once you start to show you will feel different. The first thing that goes is our waist, and I feel its our upper body that gains more. Its especially hard when you dont look pregnant, but htere is definately weight gain. Just hang in there, your pregnant and beautiful! It all pays off in the end!
