November 04, 2007 (39 1/2 weeks)

I can't believe I'm still pregnant - I totally thought I would deliver early again, but no such luck. 3 more days until my due date, I really hope baby doesn't come late. I'm starting to get restless now, my body won't let me do too much so I'm just waiting.........

I've been off work for 9 weeks now, which has been great, but I'm ready for a new routine with baby. We still don't know the sex of the baby which I find really exciting!! The nursery is painted blue with white accents, we will add some pink decorations if baby is a girl!

I've been contemplating taking castor oil to help induce labor, but I'm still not sure about it - baby has to come soon.........

I was weighed at my midwife appointment on Thursday night, I have gained 47 pounds (so far!) crazy. No wonder my back is sore!! I will see her again tomorrow morning . She said 10 days ago my cervix is thinning, but still no action. I'm soooooo excited to go into labor, I hope it happens soon!!!

Well, I am officially 6 days overdue now, and still feeling nothing to indicate the start of labor. I've been drinking red raspberry leaf tea, taking evening primrose oil, making my hubby have sex with me (haha), I'm even pumping and doing lunges on the stairs and nothing.......this baby is just too comfortable in my tummy!!! Tomorrow I will see my midwife again and hopefully we will talk about inducing me or something.

Still pregnant. 10 days overdue now. I went to the hospital this morning for the non -stress test, all is well and I'm 4cm dialated!! Heartbeat was around 150bpm. I am getting contractions, I just couldn't really feel them. So, after 3 hours of monitoring, they said that because they are slow today, I can potentially be induced later on this afternoon. I was given the prostoglandin gel and contractions started minutes later. So, now, I've been sent home to wait a few more hours and hopefully I can start the oxytocin this afternoon! I'm definately excited! So now, I'm going to have a nice shower and paint my toenails and just wait..........

Well, I got the call and now all the rooms are full. I'm a little disappointed. Contractions are still happening regularly but still not painful. My midwife is checking to see if I can be admitted later on tonight, so I just have to wait for her call, otherwise I have been put on the induction list.....(yay!!) and we'll see if there is a room tomorrow morning - if I last that long. My bags are packed (have been forever now) and waiting by the door.

Last night my midwife called and said there was a room available and I could be admitted at 830pm, so off to the hospital we went again. I had an IV put in for the oxytocin, and some bloodwork done - the nurse was awesome it was painfree!! At 1130pm they finally started the oxytocin, and my contractions started getting more uncomfortable. I was monitored for hours, and my blood pressure started to rise. I was trying to get some sleep - the contractions were still bearable so I could sleep between them and they only lasted about 30 seconds or so every about 5 minutes. Then this awful doctor came in at 3am and started doing an internal exam (she was brutal) then asked for a hook and started to insert that (very aggressively) in me and my midwife saw the look on my face and said I could tell her to stop if I wanted.....and I did. The doctor said the baby's head was still pretty far up and so she wanted to break the waters but there was a strong chance the cord might float down and I would need an emergency c-section. Well, I was not happy that this decision to break my waters was made without me. I was then given 3 options. I could 1) have her break my waters anyway 2)just have a c-section or 3) go home and come back tomorrow. So.....here I am, at home 11 days overdue and still pregnant. They stopped the oxytocin at around 315am and shorty after gave me this wonderful shot of morphine. We left the hospital around 4am and got home shortly after. I cannot remember the last time I slept sooooooooooooo well! I woke up this morning at 1030 feeling energized and refreshed. Morphine is amaaaaaaazing!! My contractions have now stopped, which is kinda a nice break but I'm still pregnant, and will hopefully be admitted tonight to have this baby for real this time! I am so happy with my decision to come home, even if it means going through everything again tonight or tomorrow. I still have the IV in my hand but it doesn't bother me. My husband was with me the whole time, very protectively looking after me, I love him sooooo much!!
