Quick overview:

My hubby and I have been trying to concieve for 2 and half years now with no such luck. We have now progressed into the world of medicine and doctors to help us achieved our long awaited dream.

Keep us in your prayers through next stage of our journey.

5th June

1ST FERTILITY APPOINTMENT TODAY

Doctor is going to complete my blood tests and repeat my progesterone as she said it was a little low. I also have to ring at beginning of next cycle to arrange a hysito...gram (dye and xray!) to check if my tubes are blocked. Then it could be a couple of months to get all results together - urgh back to the waiting game.

Hey there, just wanted to see how you are doing. When is your HSG test?

emb17 - Monday, 14 July
Just checking in to see how you are doing? How long till they have all the results????

kerijade - Monday, 7 July
Good luck!

hoping - Wednesday, 2 July
Interesting that they are making you wait for your results from the HSG? Mine were instantaneous. I actually got to see the whole thing happen, it was pretty neat! AND the HSG makes you more fertile so it is something to look forward too! It clears out your tubes and ups your chances. Good luck and keep me posted!

hoping - Friday, 27 June
Hey there, I had my HSG test today and it wasn't that bad just so you know! I seriously had period cramps for a couple of minutes but then they went away but I did spot a little bit from it. But other than that, nothing to worry about! My tubes are free and clear so we have been grouped into the "unexplained infertility" group. Oh well, we will just keep on trying!

I guess as frustraiting as it is, it is a case of wait and see till they have all the results?!

I have heard of people falling pregnant whilst in the middle of result finding, myself inc. I was going to have one of my ovaries removed because it was soooo pain full I couldn't take it any more. I went for a scan for finnal dession making and they said look heart beat! And I said I should hope so! and they said no, little heart beat. Your expecting! I think had I not been laying on the bed I would have fallen over, esp as I had come from the doc's a few days before having been told I prop wouldn't be able to have children. I was bleeding at the time too, but not alot!

I'm still convinced they must have mixed my results up with someone else. That too has happend to me. I was visiting the midwife on a routine visit and she was reading my medical notes out to me and saying things that I hadn't heard of before. I said that I didn't recorgnise anything she was talking about so she double checked the notes and it was another lady who was also expecting who had the same name as me but lived about a mile down the road from me!!!!! I don't think I was the only one who had problems at that surgery though as I know loads of people who left at about the same time as me. Thankfully I haven't had anything like it happen again or at least to my knowledge!

Keep me in touch with all they have to say, I really hope it happens for you soon

Sounds very odd, Did he say anything about not being able to find the other ovary???? and by folicles do they mean like polysistic ovaries???
Did they give you any further info on having children?

I will keep my fingers crossed for you and all your next tests, they sound horrid. Take care Em x

Hey there! Do you know the results yet from the blood tests? I have you in my prayers! XOXO-K

hoping - Sunday, 8 June
Here's a question.....did your hubby refrain from alcohol and caffeine before he gave his sample? Alcohol is an obvious one to stay away from but was wondering about the caffeine. It doesn't say anything on the directions sheet but we thought it would be a good idea anyways. So as of tomorrow none of that for my hubby until Wednesday (not that we are heavy drinkers at all but it's nice to have one here and there!). Looks like we are on the same schedule by the way. I will get my test done next cycle as well. I think that they will put me on Clomid next cycle as well. Is that the plan with you too?

EmB17 - Friday, 6 June
Some of those tests sound horrid but if they help they are all very worth it.

I guess it must feel a little like taking little steps forward at the moment?

hey there,
i did the hystersalpingogram - it's not that bad at all! the only discomfort i had during it was when they inflated the balloon at the end of the cath....i felt that! but it wasn't too too bad. although after i kind of felt like i'd been kicked in the stomach repeatedly....just make sure you go home and rest afterwards.....it'll be worth it if it gives you answers:) and sometimes, the blockages are flushed out with the test itself!!

cheers

Hey there! We are in the same boat. I am going to have to schedule that dye test for my next cycle as well. I hear that it can make you more fertile so let's cross our fingers! I got the rest of my blood results back, my iron levels are normal (I have Thalassemia Beta which is a common thing), and I tested negative for Fragile X and Multiple Sclerosis. So now on to the next phase........I'll keep you posted on my hubby's results. I think that he is a tad bit nervous about it but I am sure it will be just fine!

byrdi - Thursday, 5 June
hope everything goes well for you at your appt:) keep me posted (if you want to)

EmB17 - Wednesday, 4 June
All, seams to be sounding good?! Maby a nice relaxing holiday away at about the time your due to ovulate might be the answer? I really hope it happens soon for you. Keep me posted on what the fertility clinic has to say. LOTS of baby dust, take care Em x

hoping - Wednesday, 4 June
Glad to hear that your hubby's results were good! I bet they will check your tubes next and then put you on medication. Well, just saying that because that is the next step they are taking with me! My hubby goes for a blood test and "specimen" test on the 11th so I will keep you posted!

kwc - Wednesday, 4 June
Congratulations on the good results and good luck at your appt. So you are starting with IUI? We have our IUI done on Thursday so please say tons of prayers for us. I am pretty laid back about it and the shots were not bad at all. Although I hear they are much worse for the IVF regimen. Overall, it is not a bad process at all. Got any big plans for the weekend? I am going to go see Sex and the City. CAN"T WAIT!
