Hey, it is our first child. We are overcome with excitement, anxiousness, and so many more emotions than we can even explain. We took some fertility meds and they worked. There were thoughts that there were more than one (maybe even 4) coming, but thankfully there is just one - that's just perfect for us right now! We are, of course, nervous and constantly worried that everything is going OK with the baby, all of the time. Since we are still with our fertility doctor (we will be with him until around 11 weeks) we are so spoiled! We have had about a million doctor's appts already, sometimes seeing the doctor 3 times a week! We go once a week now for an vaginal ultrasound and we get to see and hear the little heartbeat. We still cannot get over how much it grows from week to week! It's crazy!!

Hey, now I'm 27 weeks. We found out its a GIRL and we are thrilled! I can't believe she comes in 3 months. Crazy. Getting a little nervous about the delivery now.... but all in all very excited to meet her.

portia123 - Tuesday, 10 June
Hey There - - I found out a week before my first baby was due that I needed a c-section due to previa. Had it been diagnosed earlier, I would have been on full bed rest. After freaking out for about a day, I didn't let the thought of a c-section frighten me anymore. I was totally relaxed during the whole thing. I was allowed to wear my contact lenses, my wedding rings, etc.. (I probably could have worn make-up, but I didn't put any on that day). I was able to talk to the surgen and anesthesiologist during the procedure so that I felt like I was more a part of the birth process, adn not just a spectator. My unsolicited advice is to just take it easy! A c-section isn't how most people want to deliver, but if it makes for a healthy mom and healthy baby it is worth it! If you have any questions about the procedure or anything else, please post to my profile - portia123. ps - I am also 34 weeks along with my second baby and will be delivering this one vaginally.

rachmarie - Monday, 9 June
oh pick me pick me! I'm on bedrest too! Its horrible! I am trying to stay positive and enjoy the "down time" since I know I wont have much once the baby comes, but yea...not so much.
Thank God I only have another week and a half to go..once I hit 36 weeks I am home free! What about you?

LISASMITH - Monday, 9 June

LISASMITH - Friday, 6 June

LISASMITH - Wednesday, 4 June
THANKS!I HAVE BEEN ON AN ANTIBIOTIC SINCE SAT AND NO MORE BLOOD SO I HOPE THATS ALL IT WAS!I AM GLAD YOUR HOME.DO YOU HAVE BLOOD STILL?

CSALEE - Tuesday, 3 June
i am really sorry about the decision that you are faced with. i just wanted to tell you that when i had my daughter (3 years ago) i was well into labor and was dialating but her heart rate was droping, i ended up having an emergency c-section. she was 8lbs and 8oz 21 inches long with a monster head. the incision hurt like heck the first few days, but the more i moved around the easier it got and the faster i healed. there wasnt very much bleeding afterwards, unlike a natural birth, so that was one bonus. i would just say, if you think you might have a big baby or that there is a possibility of complications, dont pout yourself throught the worry and stress of labor only to end up going through a c-section anyhow.

pregokristin - Tuesday, 3 June
oh man, Im sorry to hear that. That is horrible. That would be really scary. But im glad it has stopped now. Oh and i know what you mean. They had me on modified bed rest at the beginning, and i couldn't stand it either.

I have to go to target today, to get some stuff, but i think im going to swallow my pride and ride a cart. Im so embarrassed to do it, but I HAVE to go to target, and Im just going to have to think "Its for the baby, not for me"

pregokristin - Tuesday, 3 June
thanks for the BH advice. I really appreciate it. How are you doing since going to the hospital? Why were you bleeding a cramping, did they tell you? Well iim sorry to hear that, and i will definately take it more easy. Thanks again.

Mommad - Monday, 2 June
I had ordered my entire nursery bedding and stuff from target online. A few items got shipped (about $100 worth of stuff) and I excitedly opened the stuff and put it up in my nursery. I waited and waited for the rest of the stuff to come...they kept backing the date up until it was after my due date! So, I called them and told them to cancel that part of the order. I explained that when I ordered it said it would ship in 2-4 wks. Actually those items were completley out of stock and they were trying to locate them from other vendors. I told them I wanted compensation for the $100 worth of stuff that I can't return and doesn't match anything and now I'd have to pick out a completely new bedding set. They gave me a $20 in-store credit. GRRRR! I'm done with target too.

You know, I was reading how Christina A. had an elective c-section. And I'm pretty sure that's what Brittany S. and other ones do. I think that is the growing trend. I think if they turn the baby it does hurt a little bit. But it's over pretty quickly from what I've seen on Birthday. But believe me, c-sections hurt WAY more than natural. That's the only thing I'm not looking forward to.
And the not being able to scratch the incision while it's healing. They really itch!
Not being able to cough or go poo for a while.
That's the only thing really making me want natural.
But then again. Everyone babying you when you get home from the surgery is a plus also.
I guess it just all depends on the circumstance. I just don't think I was prepared for my c-section. I was soo expecting to go natural.
But there are also major risks with the c-section also. My son's father told me about a few things that happened after the fact that I didn't even know because I was going in to shock.
He said it was pretty crazy!

My boyfriend just called me and since I have these varicose veins in my legs, and I always seem to be having these braxton hicks, and I had a bad migraine 2 days ago, he's always thinks I should be laying down and eating something. I'm scared to tell the doctor about them and I missed my appointment this week because I'm always scared they are going to tell me something is wrong. Stupid I know.
But it always seems when he's telling me to lay down like he just doesn't want me to go out and have any fun. But maybe he is right. I'm almost 9 months pregnant.
I just feel so bad for my son who must be bored out of his mind.

I just read your other comment. I know how you feel about going stir crazy. I'm pretty much stuck at my house with no car, my 4 year old, and nothing else to do. Sometimes I don't even walk out the door for 4 or more days. The only trips I seem to be taking are to the bathroom. It drives me nuts. www.momomesh.com is a good website for movies. computer games. I just got Roller Coaster Tycoon and playstation. Too bad they don't have massage therapist that come in to the hospital. If I had a car I would be visiting mine ever other day. If it wasn't for the internet I would go completely insane. I don't even have cable.

Do they really have to do a c-section, or is there any way they can turn her. How big is she. Any way you can avoid surgery is great. Because now days once you have a c-section, they don't really let you try for a vbac because of liability. I would at least push for natural and anything they can do to turn her and if all else fails, then go for the c-section. I have to have a repeat because my first was big and had to be a c-section. I just feel like sometimes I got cheated out of a natural experience.

shortiiee - Thursday, 22 May
Try eating something sweet, like chocolate. Then lay down on ur left side, rub ur tummy and talk to her.

Good Luck and Let me know if it works.

singinghide - Thursday, 22 May
See if you can push down all around on your stomach and get the baby to maybe wake up. I know that sometimes if you disturb them and wake them, they'll start moving. If that doesn't work, eat something or drink some juice and lay on your left side of back. That almost always gets them moving!! Let me know. I'll be thinking about ya!
