Jacobi James is here!!!!

Jacobi arrived via c-section

on 4/14/08 at 4:29PM

he weighed 4lbs 6oz

and was 16 in long...

...i experianced an ecclamptic seizure and so they thought it was best to take him immediatly.h he swallowed alot of amniotic fluid when he was born and was born coughing and a screamin and when they had cleared his lungs initally was looking great,he was on cpap on 33% oxygen. but by the 2nd xray was showing signs of RDS. so they intubated him and gave him, his first round of surfactant. now we sit and wait. he is absolutly beautiful and i will be posting pics asap!!!

please pray for us we have a long road ahead!!!

The nurses took Michael's NG tube out today, so I got to see his face without any tape on it for the first time today!! He has dimples! I bet he will be home by the weekend!

Congratulations!!! I will say a prayer that Jacobi cooperates and comes home this week! Michael is eating more and more by bottle, so they told us when he eats all feeds for 24 hours by bottle they will remove his NG tube, and watch another 24 hours. Then 24 hours of on demand feeding, and he can come home. Hopefully he will not be too far behind Jacobi. I will have a talk with him today to let him know his long lost twin brother is kicking his butt and fire up some competitive spirit in him! Haha!! Keep me posted, and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

YAY congrats! I gave birth early too, I did carry to 34 weeks and 4 days, my little one was born may 6 so we are behind you in the trials of the NICU, but oh god are they worth it. I feel so blessed to even have the chance to know this little person, I hope jacobi continues to do as well and even better!
