Grace and Nicholas June 2008

Grace at 4 Months Old!! Photobucket

Our new baby Grace has arrived, six days over due on the

6th October 2007 - weight 7.1.

The birth happened real quickly, my waters broke on Friday afternoon while out for a walk! Called the hospital and was told to go in. Felt cramps and pains along the journey. Later the pains stopped and they were giving me 18 hours to go into labour myself if not then i had to get antibiotics to save danger to the baby. After a long night, without sleep and worrying and pains gone.. they gave me antibiotics around 9 the following morning. Later they did a tracing of the babys heartbeat and found that it was decreasing. So they brought me to the labour ward at 11ish which i was dreading they started me on the drip to induce labour as i was only 2-3 cms they kept increasing the dose and pains were getting real bad. I used the gas, had my mind put of pethidine as i used it before and found it useless, and they asked for the epidural but it was too late...! Grace was born at 1.51 p.m. It was so so fantastic.. I couldnt believe it. It was a real short labour but that was due to the drip to speed up contractions. I came home the following day and couldn't have wished for everything to have gone better.

So glad i found this website for the pregnancy feel i have met so many people that will remain friends with. I wish everyone else all the very best with their new babies please God x x x

Hey Loui, how's it going there? Your trips sounds fun. But short!! Did the people you met make you feel welcome? I expect you to turn up on my door one day ;-)

Millie was great on the flight home and she is slowly adjusting to NZ time again now. Going to bed by about 9pm and up at 8am, which has been lovely for me! I like the lie ins ;-)

It's very very wintery now, rainy and cold and we are going to rug up and take her for a walk along the beach anyway as it's sop good for all of us.

Hope you are having some better weather there? Love to you all and a kiss for Grace
x

Hi LouLou- I just love the photo of your baby Grace with her 2 front teeth she looks so beautifull, my boy has 3 bottom teeth and the 2 front top teeth is just starting to come through now! I dont stew or cook the fruit i give my baby i just put ripe raw fruit in a blender and blend it untill smooth and give to my baby! very healthy! you can add a little breastmilk or water to blend it easier but if you have a good blender it wont be necesary! try this Resepy: half rype bannana, half sweet apple and 2 fresh dates and 50ml of apple juice blend it to smooth and let your baby enjoy its very sweet and my boy loves it! if you dont have a blender go and buy a good blender that will puree fruits fast its a good investment and your baby will benefit much from the fresh raw fruits and wont get sick easily cause raw fruits have loads of vitamins! take care

You should really write your's out, it's always interesting to hear the stories and you can't really have high expectations of it being a pretty story because there's always all kinds of nasty involved in childbirth. Thank you and congratulations yourself. I liked this birth better than the rest although it hurt the most, it was very much the most interesting. TTYL

your welcome I know I would love to be able to puree and make her food but unfortunately as a working mom who puts in 50 hours or more a week and with an hour commute I want to spend all my time with her so i just make sure she has nutritous options. Plenty of veggies and fruits and lean meats and cheeses. Maybe your little one will like it more if she is actually feeding herself I know sometimes Dana will refuse to eat one more bite off the spoon and then I put some down and she is like OH YEAH and feeds herself some more...Both your little ones are adorable congrats we are currently planning baby number two and hope to be pregnant soon.

So I give Dana a variety of things she has only 2 teeth at the moment and just turned 10 months old. I have been giving her these since she was 9 months or so. Cooked cut up carrots, cooked peas, cooked squash cut up into bite sized pieces, cooked broccoli the bushy parts I over cook it so it is mushy. Cooked beets, canned pears and peaches cut up into bite sizes for a baby, cut up bananas, cut up watermelon, mashed potatoes, rice, yogurt, cheerios, gerber graduates, which includes puffs, raviolis, yogurt melts, little crunchers, and veggie crackers. Hope that gives you some ideas. Dana will eat whatever I put in front of her I hope that stays true later on down the road..good luck.

He's 9 months old on July 1st! Can't believe how fast time flies! He is all over the place now getting into trouble! More running around for me to keep him safe! Hope you had a great weekend!

Hey sweetie,

I'm so happy to hear from you!!! and I'm sorry I didn't repply earlier but my computer was broken for more than one week!!!These past couple of weeks have been crazy bussy here! my brother in law and my mother in law come from dominican republic first came my B-I-L nad then my M-I-L arrive they are going to stay in the usa for good! I'm very happy for my father in law and for carlos! I was very excited to meet carlos mom since it was the first time she was going to meet the kids and me!!! she's very nice but we are very tight in the house!!! unfortunally the house business is still not going through!!! the appraised value of the house came less than what the seller was selling the house to us for!!! we are still negotiating but I have a bad felling that this is not going to go through meanwhile we are looking at houses in our area.....

I love the new display picture of Nick and Grace they look lovely! Nick looks so handsome and I love his smile and Grace is a beautiful baby I love her smile and her green eyes!! you are so lucky Lourda!

I'm so sorry that Grace was not feeling good: sad it must of been very scary to bring her to the hospital! thank God she feeling better now!!

How are you doing? how are the kids and hubby?

I'm very excited to hear that your going away at the end of the month.... you deserve to taje a vacation!

takl you you soon!

Hi Loulou - your children are beautiful! I love the name Grace; I was actually going to name my son Grace if he was girl!!!
Joseph just started to crawl a few days ago, but he doesn't crawl in the traditional manner, he basically pulls himself across the floor to get where he wants.. (It's really cute..) He is now just starting to pull himself up on furniture but he’s not "cruising" just yet...
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it..
Take care =)

thank you for responding. your children are beautiful! kane eats around 9 or 10...i really just think he wants to be next to me. if he is in my bed he will sleep thru night but if i put him in crib hes up every hour. i guess its just trial and error. i bought some type of music thing but i dont know if its working lol im sure he is teething as well. i just need some rest lol so its easier to just let him lay with me but i did that when i was young and now i hate being alone and get bad anxiety so i prefer to get him to stay in his crib now ya know? thx again!

The alps sound great, hope your family enjoys you nice getaway. We are still planning what we want to do (most likely the beach, we just love water). We took Brayden to a water park and he loved it..I have been doing swim lesson with him for a couple months so he would love the water like we do so it looks like it paid off.

JenniNZ - Wednesday, 11 June
Oh poor you with Grace being so sick. I cant even imagine how worried I'd be! knock on wood Millie has been healthy since birth, though she has become VERY sleepy since we arrived here. She's grumpy too. Do you think teething could make them tired? I assume it's just the jetlag and new surroundings. I do worry, even though all it is is tiredness! We took her to the zoo which she loved, and yesterday to a canal-side pub for lunch. Very beautiful weather, though it's due to turn cold today. I am heading off to London on Friday morning to meet my sister, which will be my first night away from Millie! I cant wait. We will all be together again on Saturday and spend 2 nights with friends. I am looking forward to seeing all my mates again. It's been 3 years since I saw them! We have a much more sociable week planned for next week too, lots of dinners out and gatherings. It's so great to be back, though I know miss my kiwi friends! teehee...

I hope your week is going so much better this week. The alps will be great fun! x

JenniNZ - Saturday, 7 June
Hi ya! Nah Millie is v big for her age so dont worry! Good kiwi genes. Well the flights were surprisingly good. M was a total angel the first leg, then more grumpy the second, but so were we as we were on a much older cruddy plane with an annoying man next to us! But I must admit we did wel and was imppressed with her. Cant write much now as she's o her own in the lounge, but will do soon! x

keribear - Wednesday, 4 June
Have you started your summer break yet? My kids get out Monday, they are soo ready..I love when the are home. How are Grace and Nicholas? Brayden got on all fours over the weekend and rock back and forth he should be crawling anytime now, then he will be into everything.

Ooo Doolin looks so pretty! I once had an Irish boyfriend from Waterford. I came to visit him in Chirstmas 94! Long time ago now. His family made me feel so welcome and everyone was lovely. SOme years later I revisited that area with another boyfriend ;-) and we drove from Cork down the coast and back again. Loved Ireland and the charming people there. Hey your trip to the alps spunds fab too. Will you fly there? Where will you stay and what will you do?

Poor you with the kids being sick, nothing worse! Millie is thankfully well, and has never had a sick day yet. I am though worried about her on the flight and in the UK as her natural immunity is wearing off now.

She is pretty scratchy today. Having been in a sleepless mood for some time I think she is just wanted an extra nap now. I took her for a last coffee over the road and she was cranky the whole time. My friends told me she can no doubt sense I'ma bit more stressed than normal!

I'm all packed though and today is all about cleaning our house and emptying the fridge and so on.We leave home at 8.30am tomorrow morning. I will have access to a PC while away so will try to log on once or twice and update you on my progress!!

PS this is where we live http://www.devonport.co.nz/
We are exptremely fortunate to have had pounds and therefore buy into this area, which is a short ferry ride from David's work. I wonder if you will ever get down under?! I posted a couple of pics of our place on my photos xx

Hey sweetie!

How are you!? How are the kids doing? I hope everything is great at your end

These past couple of days have been crazy bussy over here! I pray to God that we get it! we had alot of problems with the appraisal coming in short!! me and carlos are so stress about this!

Besides that the kids are great! the weather here is amazing! I take them to the park almost everyday.......on the weekends we like to bbq witht the fam...
