I just scheduled my 4D ultrasound last week and the tech where I'm getting mine done says that everyone wants to get it done around 23 weeks or so and that the customers end up not being satisfied because the baby hasn't yet put on enough baby fat and won't be very filled out. She says that they advise waiting til 28 weeks to get it done so baby has more fat on it and you can see the features and stuff better. ive had a 4d twice so far...once at 13 weeks cuz i was curious...then again at 16 weeks for all of my family and friends to see...i have one more scheduled at 28 weeks so i can get the dvd recording...i love it...its awsome...

I had an u/s at 21 weeks and the tech switched it over to the 4D picture just for fun- if you look at my page you will be able to see pictures. She told me that the picture wouldn't be the best until about 27 weeks or more. But have a look and see what you think.

if you are going to pay for it...i would wait a couple of weeks. the baby needs to have fat on it, or it will look like an alien (per my doctor) :)

I have heard that the best time for an 3d ultrasound is 28-32 weeks but I think it is just because are babies will have put on a good amount of weight by then.

Thanks for the photobook comment.. I have been working out about 3 days a week for the length of my pregnancy, so I am sure that has helped me stay small.. Good Luck to you.

Well I didnt get to find out after all. The first shot looked like girl then it looked like boy. Doc said 60% girl since he didnt see the testicles but idk. I guess it was meant to be a surprise.

I didnt get to find out =(. I have to go back tomorrow morning since the doc wasnt there today cause he was feeling sick. At least I just have to wait one day instead of another week like I thought they were gonna say. So I'll be letting you know tomorrow. =)

Ok so I've got some pics on my profile. My placenta is in front and bub was kinad smooshed up against it which made a good view hard but we got some nice shots still. It was all in all a lovely experience.. for me was like being in a cinema laying on a lush bed LOL My family got to sit in lush seats and stuff as well.
For me it was worth the money because of the deal. If not for the deal I would've waited till 30 weeks for it... but now I get these shots, and more again at 31 weeks. I can also go back in a few weeks for a free gender check becuase bub wouldnt allow us to confirm it today... cheeky thing!

It's scheduled for 4pm.. so in 4 hours time.. will let you know but we're getting a great deal really. Normally the big package is $230 but we're getting this one now and the one at 30 weeks for $280, so this one in effect is only costing $50. I hope we get some good pics.. will let you know.

Did you take your intelligender tests? I wonder if they really work. I am so anxious too!!!!! I have to wait until the 13th. We are the opposite of you - we have two boys. Hubby would like a girl and I am okay either way. I have taken a lot of the online question tests and they end up saying "50% chance boy and 50% chance girl".............no help : ) Good luck tomorrow!

I took the intelligender and it said girl. I even have the pic of it on my page, but I dont find out til the 12th of May what Im having for sure. Last time at my u/s doc guessed boy but it was still alil early and I have to wait to confirm that.
