He's Here! My labor story:

I got induced on July 1, 2007. We went to the hospital around 9 am but they didn't start the pitocin until 11:10 am. I started getting contractions right away but they were irregular and not very painful. At about 3:30 I got an epidural because i was 7 cms dialated. I wasn't even in that much pain but I just figured if i had waited any longer I wouldn't have been allowed to get it. At 4 pm my doctor broke my water and I started feeling his head coming down (still not in much of any pain). Around 4:30 my doctor asked me if i felt like i wanted to push and i said I guess, I feel some pressure. She was like why don't you try a push and we'll see what happens. So I pushed and she and the nurse started yelling Stop pushing! Stop pushing! I asked why and they said his head was right there and they needed to get ready. So they got their gloves and scrubs on and told me to push again and he was out! So easy! She said i only pushed once because she told me to stop as soon as i started. I was amazed because i barely felt any pain...i did feel a lot of pressure but it was nothing like the pain i felt with my son and daughter. He is beautiful. We named him Riley Patrick. Riley was born on July 1, 2007 at 4:39 pm, weighing 7lbs 7oz and measuring 21 inches long. He recieved a 10 out of 10 on the agpar scale both times. My doctor said she never gives a baby a perfect score twice. He is very active and strong.

Little more about our Family....

My name is Melissa. My husband, Brad and I met when I graduated highschool in 2002. In May of 2003 I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks after we broke up; I was 18 and Brad was 22. I went through my first trimester without him because he got scared and felt that he wasn't ready to be a father. He, along with many other people, were trying to convince me to abort my baby. If you know me, you would know that I didn't take this advice very well. I have been against abortion since I knew what it was. I actually asked God to give a baby to me, instead of someone who would abort their child. Well my prayers were answered and my little guy was on his way into the world. In my second trimester, Brad called me and we decided to remain friends for the sake of our child. He felt terrible for not being there for me during the first couple of months of my pregnancy and for suggesting abortion. I was induced with my son on January 6, 2004 at 7:30pm and had him on January 7th at 12:04am. We named him Zachary Joseph.

When Zach was 8 months old, in October of 2004, Brad and I got back together. I wanted to make sure he wasn't getting back together with me just because we had a son together but because he really loved me so when he did ask me to be his girlfriend again I asked him why he wanted to be with me and he said because he missed me so much and hated being without me. He thought I hated him and was shocked when I said yes to being his girlfriend again. A couple of months later he asked me if I wanted to go to Hawaii with him in October 2005. His mom was going to watch our son so we could get away together. We had to cancel our trip because in Feb of 2005 I became pregnant with our daughter. She was due Nov. 11 2005 so we decided it wouldn't be good for me to be on an airplane when I was 9 months pregnant. On March 8, 2005 Brad proposed to me by drawing out a place in Hawaii where he wanted to take me. He then said...."And this is where I was going to ask you to marry me." He got down on his knee and asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! We got married June 6, 2005, three years to the date of when he first asked me to be his girlfriend. I was 4 months pregnant and we got married in a courthouse with about 20 close family and friends by our side.

Our daughter was born November 7, 2005 and we named her Makayla Rose. It was a Monday and luckily Brad stayed home from work that day because he had a feeling something was going to happen. She was born a half hour after we got to the hospital. My water broke 5 minutes after I got my epidural and nobody was in the room with me (the nurse went to get my husband). My husband and the doctor ran in and two pushes later there she was! We were shocked when the doctor said "It's a girl!" We wanted to be surprised with our second because we found out with our first. We were convinced she was a boy so we didnt even look at girls names.

When Zachary was 2 1/2 and Makayla was 7 months, Brad and I had our dream wedding with our family and friends, June 3, 2006. Our son wore an identical tuxe to Brad and our daughter wore a white gown that resembled a wedding dress. Zachary walked down the isle with my younger brother as ring bearers and Makayla was carried down the isle by Brad's close friend. We then got to have our honeymoon in Hawaii and he got to take me to the place where he was going to propose. We had an amazing time but we missed our little ones so so much. We talked to them on the phone everyday.

In October of 2006, I asked Brad if we could try to have 1 more baby. I have always wanted 4 children but Brad only wanted 2. He agreed to try once on Oct. 14, and on the 28th we found out we were pregnant. We didn't even realize it was perfect timing. Now we are expecting our third baby due July 1, 2007. We are very excited and are praying for a healthy child. We took an at home gender test called Intelligender and it said we are having a boy. If anyone else has tried this or heard of it, let me know. I am currently a stay at home mommy and a student. I take classes online through Kaplan University and I am hoping to one day be an elementary school teacher because I love working with children. My husband works full time as a Head Audio Video Installer. I love how he can fix anything! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone on here better, I love chatting with all of you. October 14, 2006- Conceived our baby

October 28, 2006- Took Pregnancy test, came back positive!

November 7, 2006- Makayla's first birthday!

November 16, 2006- Symptons, such as, nausea, soreness etc. disappear. Go into the doctor's office to get blood taken to make sure I am not miscarrying.

November 22, 2006- My 22nd Birthday, anxiously awaiting my test results!

November 23, 2006- Doctor calls and tells me that the levels were excellent! Yay!

December 1, 2006- Go to the doctor's office to get a sonogram...get weighed, urine tested, and blood pressure taken. I see my little peanut on the screen and see his/her's beating heart! Thrilled!!

December 29, 2006- Go to the doctor's for a routine checkup, hear the babies heart beat...in the 130s-140s.

January 7, 2007- Zach turns 3!!!

January 17, 2007- Go to the doctors because I suffer 3 days straight with migraines! In so much pain, can't even nod or walk without it hurting so bad. Doctor tells me to lay off the salt....works like a charm!

January 19, 2007- Go to the doctors for my AFP screening test. Hear babies heartbeat again...in the 130s-140s....Have to wait 2 weeks for the AFP results, calling to get results February 2nd

February 1, 2007- Called the doctor yesterday to get the results of my AFP. They said they'd call me back and never did so of course I was worrying. I called again today and they said they'd call me back. They just called me and said the results came back Negative for everything...Thank God! I was praying the whole time I was on hold. Now all i have to worry about is the level II sono. lol I'm a mother so therefore a worrier!

February 9, 2007- Had a doctor's appt. today. It took a while for my doctor to find the baby's heartbeat. I was nervous because I fainted in the mall last night while shopping for my sister's birthday, which is today. I was in Abercrombie and the music was blasting so loud. It was really hot but I had water with me so I thought I'd be fine. I didnt eat much yesterday so I think that's why that happened. It was one of the scariest things because I had my kids with me in the double stroller and I just kept thinking oh my gosh I'm gonna black out and have to be rushed to the emergency room...what's gonna happen to my kids? So scary! I started seeing doubles of my kids and everything else so i leaned against the wall and then slid down onto the floor. Luckily after 5 minutes I was able to get up and get out of there. As soon as I left the store and sat down I felt better. So then we got something to eat and I was able to shop again. My doctor found the heartbeat after a couple of minutes. She said the baby was being tricky. She let me listen to it for a while to reasure me that everything was fine. The bpm was 130-140, like always. I still haven't made my appt. for my level II sono because we are still waiting for our new insurance to start. I can't make the appt. until I have the policy number so it's a pain. I can't wait to see my baby again...I haven't seen him/her since he/she was 8 weeks!!! My next appt. is March 9th and I have a 3d/4d sono scheduled for March 3rd. Hopefully I will have my level II done sometime in Feb! We'll see!

March 3, 2007- Today is the day I've been waiting for since sometime in January! I had my 3d/4d sono today and we found out we're having a boy like we thought. We are so excited! He was so so so active! The guy was like, "He just keeps moving, he's so fast." One second he'd be looking perfectly at us and the next second he'd turn. He was also hiding behind the placenta as you can see in the first two pics...looks like he's playing peek-a-boo. We scheduled another 3d/4d sono for when I'll be 32 weeks. I still haven't had my 20 week sono because we still haven't received the new insurance cards! Last night I was really scared because after helping my hubby take this test he has to take for his job, I went to the bathroom and saw a spot of blood the size of a quarter on the toilet paper. I haven't bled at all during this pregnancy and I didn't with my son and daughter in the second trimester either. With my daughter I had a hematoma outside of the sac so I bled with her when i was about 9 weeks and I was put on bed rest. But this is different! I'm calling my doctor on Monday because I read that it could be the cervix opening and I've been feeling sore. I was wearing tight pants and sitting down for about an hour before I went to the bathroom so I am hoping it's from the tight pants! I'll update everyone on Monday!

March 4, 2007- Well I couldn't wait until tomorrow so I called my doctor today and the nurse told me to go to the hospital to get checked out. My cervix was closed, the placenta looked good, and I wasn't contracting. My urine culture was cloudy and had white blood cells in it so they think I have a urinary tract infection or a yeast infection. They are sending it out to the lab to confirm. They also did a sonogram and the first thing the lady said was, "Wow, he's crazy. He's so active." I'm getting scared i'm going to have a really hyper baby. I'm gonna lay off the orange juice for a while =)

March 9, 2007- Had another doctor's appointment today. I bled a little right before I left for the doctors so I was a little scared. I took my kids with me and for some reason Makayla was really cranky the whole time and Zachary decided to take off his shoes in the waiting room...I didn't notice until I got called in and then on the way out someone pointed them out to me. My doctor said if i bleed any more she has to send me back to the hospital! I really hope I'll be alright. She perscribed me medication for my UTI and listened to the baby's heartbeat. She wants me to get the insurance figured out so I can have my level II sono done. I think it will all be worked out this week so hopefully I can schedule an appointment sometime this week. She also gave me a note to get the diabetes test done at the lab. I hate drinking that disgusting sugar drink. I'm going to get that done when I am 25-26 weeks pregnant. I went over my mom's house after the appointment and waited for my little brother and sister to get home from school because I'm babysitting them tonight. My next appt. is April 6th, my brother's 24th birthday.

March 22, 2007- I had my level II sono today, finally! The tech said everything looked good. She said he is definitely a boy lol. She also said he's head down and weighs 1 lb 13 ons. He measured more at 26 weeks so my new due date is July 1, 2007! I know he's definitely coming in June though because my other two came early. I got some cute pics of him....two of them look like he's praying. My mom saw the pics and the first thing she said was, "He looks just like you!" haha He looks like a baby! It's because I have big eyes and his eyes looked big, just like my son and daughters. The tech also said that the placenta is in the front so I probably don't feel him move as much as I did with my son and daughter but actually I feel him move all the time. It seems like he is more active then they were! Well I'm glad my due date moved up a little bit, yay!

April 6, 2007- I had another check-up today and everything went well. The office was empty and my kids were little angels =). I gained 4 lbs this month, my blood pressure was fine, and the little guy's heartbeat was good. After the appt, i went to the dmv, which of course was packed! I was just surrendering my plates though so they took me right away. I felt everyone staring at me at the dmv. I guess pushing one child in a stroller, having another walk along side of it, and being pregnant shocked a lot of people. I look young too, maybe that's why i was getting stared at lol.

May 4, 2007- I went to my doctor's appt. today and everything was good. I didn't gain any weight and the baby was measuring right on time. I have to go to the lab tomorrow and get my glucose test done because i never did it.

May 17, 2007- I had another doctor appt. today with the other doctor because my doctor is on vacation. He was really nice; he told me that my glucose test came back fine but my iron is low. My iron was low with my other two pregnancies as well so back to slow fe. I gained 1 lb. The baby is measuring on time and his heartbeat is strong. The doc. told my son that he is 5 years old lol. He also gave my kids 4 stickers because my other doctor gives them 3. He was calling Zach his little buddy, it was cute. My next appt. is June 1st! Almost there!

June 1, 2007- So I've been getting lots of contractions and pressure lately and today was my 35 week check-up. My doctor did an internal and told me I am 2cm dialated and she could feel his head! Thank God! She also did the GBS test which I tested positive for with my son. I'm hoping i'm negative this time around but i'm thinking i'm probably positive again. I didn't gain any weight and everything else was fine. I have my final sono on Tuesday, June 5th and another doctor's appt. on Friday, June 8th. We had our friend's engagement party tonight and i was getting strong contractions that were 5 minutes apart for a while. They eventually stopped. Maybe it was the loud music. I can't wait to find out how much he weighs on Tuesday. Oh and we have been decided on a name for a while now but i'm not posting it just in case someone we know sees. We are keeping it a surprise.

June 5, 2007- My sono was today and i was way off on his weight. I thought he was going to weigh somewhere in the high 5's but he weighed 6 lbs 12 oz. His head is down really low. I think he's coming any day because yesterday and today i can barely walk without being in a lot of pain. I get so much pressure, it feels like he's about to come out. I'm excited but really nervous! I hope he's healthy and my labor goes well. Friday is my next appt. and hopefully i can convince my doctor to induce me if i'm still pregnant lol.

June 15, 2007- So i am 2-3 cms now, i thought i'd be more because i've been walking alot. I asked my doctor about inducing me and she said they are not aloud to induce until the 39th week! That sucks! But she knows how fast Makayla came so she said if i'm still preggers on Thursday, she will talk to the other doctor and see what they can do. I'm hoping they can work something out. My husband wants him to come on Father's Day but i'm starting to doubt he's ever gonna come lol. I'll update again on Thursday.

June 25, 2007- Well i never did an update because i really didn't get any news. I'm still 2-3 cms and 50% effaced. My doctor said if i'm still pregnant on Friday, my next appt, she'll induce me that weekend since she's on call. Now i'm hoping i make it to be induced so at least i'll be at the hospital. She made me promise her that i wouldn't drive myself to the hospital if i go into labor but i don't think i have a choice. If it happens during the day i will either have to have him here haha or take my kids to the hospital with me. I'm gonna be a mess if that happens. We shall see!

July 1, 2007- I'M GETTING INDUCED TODAY! At my doctor's appt. on Friday I was 4cms dialated and the baby dropped more so my doctor asked me when i wanted to get induced. I have to call the hospital at 7 am (10 minutes) and ask them when i can come in. Wish me luck everyone, i'm so nervous now!
