Hello everyone! I think its pretty cool to be a part of this website. It's neat to see that other women are in the same week as you and to see what they are going through. I have been pretty sick through this whole thing and even though I'm in week 14 which is beginning of the second trimester. I'm still not feeling better. :( But we will see. This is my second and we are hoping for a little boy but we will still be happy either way. I have a beautiful little 5 year old girl and she is so excited about being a big sister.

April 10th 2008

I havent really written much on here since week 14! Things have been great. I am feeling much more symptoms with this one then I did with my daughter. I feel good but lately getting swelling in left leg, back pain, and a pain on top of my belly that is like bruising or something. I still get sick every now and then but I'm glad I am past the all day every day sickness like in the first trimester!

My daughter is so excited about being a big sister! I started a journal at home where I will say things to the baby and record my doctor's appts and weight. Well, I picked it up the other day and my husband wrote a little note in there too! So sweet. So my daughter decided she wanted to put a note in there and she wrote how excited she is to see him and how cute and handsome he will be. :) She is the perfect daughter. This one is a little boy and we are thrilled! We are naming him Xavier. I just can't wait to meet my son. My baby shower is at the end of this month and I can't wait. I know it will be fun and I just want to see what items we will get to prepare for little Xavier.

I hoping to do this naturally with no drugs. We will see though!! I watch The Baby Story on TLC and sometimes I get really motivated about natural childbirth and sometimes (like this morning) I see one that was very difficult and I get really scared!! But I'm leaving the epi as an option. :)

Yes, actually I carried my girl ALL OVER! My butt, hips, thighs, and I gained about 55 pounds total. This pregnancy I've only gained 10 pounds so far and I'm carrying him ALL up front, it looks like I'm hiding a basketball in my shirt! I'm a freak about working out, so I've done better this go around. I teach arobics and have tried to eat good for me stuff. Of course a 'little' of the bad is okay too! ;)

I meant 6 weeks, not 2! sorry...

mom2aboy - Tuesday, 22 Jan
I'm thinking I will probably take my 2 weeks and come back part time and work back up to full time eventually. My husband has a great job and I really don't have to work (thank goodness), but I really enjoy what I do and I love my clients, so I will miss them while I'm gone! I like the idea of a co-ed shower! Since we are due around the same time, when do you plan on having yours?

Hey! My suggestion would be to have you're fiance attend a child-birth class with you..most hospitals offer one at a low cost and thats what I did/plan to do.
Don't worry,you'll do fine..believe in yourself:)

denee85 - Wednesday, 16 Jan
I took a Child birth education class before having my first baby and also read a ton of books about labor and delivery.
I had a really good set of coaches (my husband and my mother) and they encouraged me and it really made me feel that I was strong enough to do it without meds.
I was 19 when I had my first and here I am 4 years later getting ready to do it again..lol
I think the biggest key to not 'begging' for the meds is having faith in your body to give birth..it's natural (unless it needs interference..) and our bodies are meant to do it.
Pain is Good,if only because it means progress...And it CAN'T last forever:)

Good luck

Thanks for the encouraging comment on me having twins. I'm a bit overwhelmed but excited. So it's nice to hear people are excited for me. I hope all is well with you and your baby.

I took a really crappy class before my first one but the best advice I got was 2 months before my 1st was born, My aunt had a baby and she tore really bad, when I visited her she was talking about it while her doc was in the room and he said 'Here's what you do to avoid that...Listen to your doctor and if they say stop pushing...stop pushing' I paid attention to that and while I was pushing I found a focal point and just imagined my baby being here, Wasn't bad at all, no tearing no stitches not a lot of pain...Good luck

Hi! I am planning on going natural all the way. PLANNING being the key word there. I hear a lot of stories about how things can change, or even how hospital staff try to influence your decision. I'm thinking about maybe getting a doula to speak on my behalf.

ddmacg - Tuesday, 15 Jan
I've had two kids without any pain medicine, the first I was in labor for 36 hours. I'm going to try to tough this one out med-free too

Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not alone on the belly thing! I swear it's so much bigger by the time I go to bed... then I wake up, and it's magically gone. So weird!

haha. yea trust me, thats all the good treatment i get from him for being pregnant! he acts like i make symptoms worse than they are sometimes! he will totally deny it though. if i see him go outside to smoke though i get really pissed and he will come back inside and try to un-piss me off and massage my back or something, so i think i just get pissed now just for the reward! haha, at least it gets me some sympathy backrubs and special treatment!
