After "trying" for about 12 months (I'm ovulating, honey, but I'm not in the mood....) we went to Eastern Europe for a month in July 2007. We decided if we weren't pregnant by Christmas to call it off. I had some weird double period in Dec and hoped I was going through peri-menopause. After 5 weeks with no period--and I am usually 100% on-time--a PG test came back negative. I was totally fine with that. Had blood work for an annual on Jan 23rd and was told I was negative again after 7 weeks with no period, I had a drink (or 5) to celebrate. 12 days later I had my annual and was told I WAS pregnant. "What? No, I'm NOT....I've had 2 pregnancy tests and they were both negative....Your office called on the 23rd and told me I WASN'T pregnant....We just bought 2 new cars and started remodling our house.....We're going to Mexico in June...We're spending a month in Europe next June....My husband is getting a vasectomy next month." Well, sure enough, I'm now 16 weeks pregnant and will be 41 when I give birth. I was so freaked out I went to my car and sobbed then didn't tell my husband, or anyone else, for 10 days.

Sounds so fun. You're going to love traveling with your baby. Throw him or her in a Baby Bjorn and your on your way! The other great thing is you don't have to pay for airline tickets when they are that little. Take advantage of it while it lasts. . . The first time I had to buy my son a ticket it really hurt!

Hi Everyone--Thanks for the well wishes and laughs. I'm now at 20 weeks and have found out all tests are good and Critter is good to go. Had our "big" ultrasound yesterday and spent an hour with my husband and good friend (who is only 26 and decided she wants one too, haha) tripping out on the pictures--we're not finding out the sex so it'll remain "Critter" for the time being. Seeing its heart beat and look like a butterfly on crack was so cool! My students love seeing all the pictures and I especially love posting the ones that show the spine and brain for them. I've gained almost 10 pounds now but I swear, I've gained about 20 inches in girth, I feel HUGE all of the sudden and am pretty nervous that I have 5 more months to go, I can't even imagine how big I'm going to get. My tech asked me if I'd felt it kick yet and I said no, then while we were watching the ultrasound it started kicking away and I was like, "Oh..THAT'S what it feels like, yup, I feel that all the time, I just thought it was pain from my uterus growing". The we bomped on my side and watched it squirm around...too funny.
