About me:

Well, I have two wonderful girls ages 5 yr and 19 months. We started trying for our third baby around Oct '07 & I finally got pregnant in Feb. I knew I was pregnant when I woke up with the worst morning sickness ever! I got a BFP on Feb 21. I went to my OB and had blood work done the very next day. My level was 51 on Friday and on Monday it was 200+. I had my first scan on 3/21. I was approx 8+ weeks. So far, baby looks good. I've battled with m/s since the very day I got my BFP. The m/s has quieted down since the beginning of April...thank goodness.

I had one scary episode so far. I woke up as usual to go pee around 3am (Monday 3/24/08). I looked down at the toilet as I was getting ready to wipe and saw a long strip of blood at the bottom of the toilet bowl. I went to back to bed sobbing quietly so I wouldn't wake up my husband. I started to cramp all morning. I just waited to see if I the baby was going to pass out naturally. I ended up getting an ultrasound done and saw the baby and a heartbeat. So I was very relieved.

4/24/08: 12 week OB appt. Basic appt. where they listen to baby's heartbeat and ask questions about how you're handling the pregnancy. Nothing significant. Next appt. 5/22/08.

5/22/08: 16.5 week OB appt. Heart beat is in the150s. I lost 1 lb. I've been having good BH ctx since last week. I've felt good fetal movement for about 3 weeks now. I can actually feel a poke or the baby turning. Everything is still going well. Nausea comes and goes.

6/4/08: Ultrasound went absolutely great. My appt was for 4pm but it got delayed until about 5pm. I swear my bladder was going to burst. I knew I wasn't going to back down and reschedule. Well, baby's heart rate 130-140. Much lower than my two girls. Their heart rate was always between 150-160. We had a tough time finding the sex b/c the umbilical cord was always in the way. The ultrasound tech was determined to make me happy and find the sex. Towards then end of the scan, the baby kicked and moved all around causing the cord to float away from the private parts. It was so exciting to see boy parts. I think my husband was either in denial or shock. Well, my due date changed slightly. It looks like I'm due 10/29/08.

7/9/08: Well, I started contracting again this morning around 4 am. The contractions were about every 3-4 minutes and very strong. I started feeling a lot of pressure too. When I got to L%D I was 1 cm & 60% effaced and the baby's head was pushing down.. Needless to say I was scared. This is my third baby but the thought of delivering a pre-term baby is not fun. They gave me fluids, IV Toradol, & Terb. The contractions eventually stopped. I know I'm going to deliver early but hopefully we can make it past 30+ weeks.

7/10/08: 3D/4D Ultrasound. Here are the pictures. Definitely a BOY! Baby's head down already so it was hard getting good facial shots.

7/11: OB appt. I went to see my Doc today so she could clear me to go back to work. I got an ultrasound to check my cervical length, which was over 4cm. Very good news. I also got a prescription for oral Terb. I went back to work on Monday (7/14) and needless to say I started contracting again by the end of my shift. I hate to admit it but I think I'm going to have to stop working sooner than later. I think that's the only option I have at this point...

7/16/08: OB Appt. I started have painful regular contractions this morning at 5am. The contractions were every 4 min. I took the Terb. at 6am and by 6:30am the ctx slowed down significantly. I feel jittery/shaky. I'm going to see if they can prescribe something else for these ctx b/c I hate the way Terb makes me feel.
