Loving Life As A Mommy!

Feb 14th 2008 My Little Valentine Came!
7 lbs. 3 oz. 21 inches.
PERFECTION!

Birth Story:
I went into the hospital at 6:oo am the morning of the 14th. My IV of petocin[sp?] was set up, and contractions kicked in almost immediatly. Every 5 mins i was having decent contractions. That made me incredibly happy. At around 9:00 am my doctor came in and broke my water. After that contractions started coming about every three minutes and were steady. At about 11:00-11:30 i asked for the epidural because i was so terrified of progressing really fast and not having any relief.. && it being too late. [ps. EPI'S ARE VERY MUCH RECCOMENDED!]. Everything took off from there. I had steady contractions all the way up until about 12:30 pm. Then hard labor began. Contraction after contraction. We started pushing. We had a practice push first.. Richard walked into the room and thought we were starting without him.. he got so scared. Once Richard saw me in pain.. he started feeling sick.. so My mother was on one side of me, && my personal nurse was on the other side.. with Richard sitting beside her. Pushing was hard. After pushing for awhile i felt that when a contraction would come on.. i was pushing my hardest.. but in actuality i was barely even pushing. I was so tiiired. Once his head was out.. i had one more set of three pushes.. && Donivan Skylar Morris was born. =] PS. We changed the middle name spelling.. again.. haha. So instead of Skyler.. its Skylar.
I have never been so happy in my life. I love just starting my little guy. He's soo perfect. Looks exactly like his daddy its unbelieveable. I love it so much. I would have never thought that i could be so in love with something so innocent. I feel like i have been his mommy forever. =] Life is amazing. Richard && I are doing GREAT! He's the best daddy ever. I could go on and on talking about how perfect like is.. && how beautiful my son is.. but i couldnt type for an eternity. =]
I took of the pregnancy journal of my page. I Figured that since i am a mommy now, && no longer pregnant.. we'll have a mommy journal! I'll try to post as much as possible. Havent been tooooo extremely busy yet. Donivan is so perfect and content all the time. So we'll see how this goes. Feel free to message me. =]

My due date is Feb. 18th, 2008.
Im hoping for a girl, the boyfriend "knows" its a boy..*rolls eyes*

Feb. 20th 2008

Donivan is 6 days old today.
Boy has time already flooowwn.
I love love love just staring at him.
He brings so much happiness in my life its ridiculous.
I would have never imagined that i could love someone so much.
Richard && I are doing amazing.
6 days without fighting.. believe me.. thats a record.
He is so perfect with Donivan.
I love just starring at the two.. he loves falling asleep with Donivan in his arms.

In the beginning breastfeeding was super hard.
Donivan just wouldnt latch.
Mom says i never gave him enough time.. but i know for surely i did..lol.
So instead of him going to the nipple.. i pump milk for him.
Hey.. it's still breastmilk! =]
He's such a content baby.
Only whines when he is hungry..
I still havent heard him actaully belt out and scream.
Im scared for that.. my heart just breaks when i hear him whimper.
&& his bottom lip quivers.. omg. cute.. but it melts my heart.
I would never regret a damn thing.
I may only be 17.
But age doesnt define how good of a parent you can be.
I love my son. && nothing will ever change that.

Donivan has his 1 week appt. tomorrow.
So im sure i'll update then..
He may have slight jaundice.. =[
We'll see though..

Feb. 22 2008

Donivan had his one week appt yesterday.
Everything is GREAT!
No problems with Jaundice.. i was alittle worried..
but he is nothing to worry about.
He has only gained an ounce and half since leaving the hospital.
We go back in a week to find out if he has gained anymore.
Both his circumcision nd umbilical cord has fallen off.
Thank goodness for that.. =]
Since i was having latching problems.. we brought that up at the appt.
My doctor sent me to he hospital to pick up a nipple shield..
OMG! MIRACLE!
Those things are amazing.
So now Donivan feeds from my boob, and not just the bottle.
yay. =]
Nothing else is really new..
We're all doing great.
Donivan is healthy.
So i'll update if anything happens..

Feb. 28th 2008

Well last night sure was fun!
not.
For the past couple of days (more like past 5 days)..
Donivan has been spitting up.. && we didnt know why.
Yesterday.. he started puking.
After every feeding.. nothing would stay down.
Well of course.. i was worried to death.
&& didnt want to have him eat all night, && not keep it down.
So i called the hospital.
oh. some backround info..
When i had him.. they hooked up the internal monitor to his head to keep track of his heartbeat..
Well.. it ended up getting stuck in his head.. leaving two holes.
They sacbbed over.. we were told they were nothing to worry about.
The day before yesterday.. my mom was rubbing her hand on Donivan's head..
The scab came off.. && puss poured out of it.
Leaving his holes open WITH an infection.
mmk.. so back to the hospital.
When i called i told them everything.. including the fact that he had a low-grade temp. && i informed them of the head incident.
They told us to take him to the ER.
So we did.
We ended up in a room for two and a half hours..
(there was a citical patient that night)
JUST for the doctor to tell us.. there is NOTHING wrong with him..
&& to burp him every five minutes during a feeding.
LAME.
Well.. he still is spitting up a bit.. && i've done what the doc said.
Today.. he has his two week appt. with our doctor.
I guess we'll see what she says.

Okkkk.. So im FINALLY getting around to updating.
[Nicole you'd be proud.. lol]
We took Donivan to his 2 week appt.
Told her about his vomitting.. she said to watch it of course, that i could possibly end up being that one problem with the muscle in the stomach thingy.. haha wow im real literate.
But.. he has stopped vomitting since then, so i dont think we have anything to worry about.
BUT.. our doc. did look at his head..
&& when she did.. puss came out of it..
She took a culture to test to see if it was an infection or not.
I still havent gotten the results back.
Hopefully tomorrow.
But now.. we have a new problem on our hands.
Donivan has a cold.
Its the most heartbreaking thing ever..
Having to hear him cough && sneeze the way he does.. and there be nothing i can do about it. =[
Nothing else is really going on.. i typed an update a while ago.. but i accidently didnt save it.. which seems to happen to me alot.
So i may have left some things out..
If i remember.. i'll add on. =]

So Donivan turned a month yesterday.
WOW! Has time def. flown by.
He's such a good baby its ridiculous.
He eats on a really good schedule.. about every three hours.
I used to be terrified of sleepless nights.
But surprisingly.. they dont bother me at all.
I, myself, has been having some bodily problems.
Possibly will need my gall baldder removed.
Not too sure yet though.
I has some ultrasound pics done on it..
They came back non-conclusive.. so now i have to take some different kind of test.
So we shall see by next week whats going on.
Well other than that.. everything is going amazing..
I dont really have too much to update on.

So i wanted ti give you a little shout out to let you know.. && everyone else too..
How absolutely amazing you are.
I wish we could have met a lot sooner,,
because i have never been so blessed to have a friend like you.
I know that you will be here for me if i ever need anyone to talk to..
&& i will def. ALWAYS be here for you.

On April second Donivan && I had appts.
He has been spitting everything up, && i became worried.
We have changed formula 3 different times, and i was also breastfeeding.
Well we brought him to our doctor.
She asked us if he arched his back when he spit up, i said yes.
The doctor informed us that Donivan has acid reflux.
Right now we are putting rice cereal into his bottles,
If that doesnt work then he will beed to be put on medicine.
So far, the cereal (&& Soy formula Richard insisted on buying) has worked!
He barely spits up, && you can tell he feels A LOT better.
He weighed in at 11 pounds && 7 ounces.
Somedays i feel like he weighs a million though. =]
Next week we have his official 2 month check up.
I love my lil guy.
He is doing so good && starting to sleep more through the night.
As for me.. Im not doing so good.
When i was pregnant, the last three months i had a horrible a horrible pain in the upper-right part of my stomach.
I went to the ER about it once, and was told it was contractions.
Well Im STILL having this pain.
I had to go to the ER again a couple weeks ago.
Since i just has a baby i was a perfect canidate for gall bladder problems.
I had an ultrasound, the results came back non-conclusive.
Then i had another test..
later to find out that my gall bladder is working 5% of the 100% it is supposed to be working.
That was pretty shocking to find out..
Soooo..
On monday (april 7th - Mine && Richard's 1 year together)
Im having surgery to remove my gall bladder.
Im asking that i stay in your prays.

April 17th, 2008

On the 7th, I had my surgery to remove my gall bladder.
Everything went well.
Im still in recovery.
It was hard to not be able to hold my little guy though.
I have to say i def. bent the rules a little.
Donivan is doing soooo good.
He laughs, smiles, and coos so much.
Its the cutest thing in the whole wide world.
I just cant believe how much time is flying.
He gets his 2 month shots on the 21st.
Im a little behind on appts && stuff..
There is just waaaay to much stuff going on to stay on track of things.
I hope all you mommies && mommies-to-be are doing amazing.

Wow. It has def. been awhile since I have been on to update my page.
Soooo much has happened.
Donivan still has acid reflux.
Poor thing.
Richard && I got an apartment together.
So we moved 45 mins from my old town.. which means
an hour and a half from my doctor.
We have to switch doctors... im not too happy about that.
I loved my ob/gyn.
She was absolutely amazing.
Because of the move.. i have been extremely procrasinate about Donivan's shots.
He goes on thursday to get his two month shots.. && he is already 3 months.
He is fine though.
Nothing else has really happend.. we have jsut been super busy.
Oh. I graduated!
YAY!
How many can say that they was out of school for two months straight..
made up every single missing assignment..
&& graduated?
I CAN!
I was extatic.
Well anyways..
I was long over due for an update..
Hope everyone is still doing good.

So Donivan finally had his two month shots.
(one and a half months late)
Poor guy cried so hard.
I felt so bad.
I just held him tight and tried to soothe him as good as possible.
Afterwards he was fine tough.
He wasnt too cranky.. nor did he run a fever.
Thank God.
Nothing new has really happened.
But i thought i'd update on his shots.
He goes every 6 weeks, instead of 2 months..
that's because we are behind.
Well i'll update if anything happens.
